Here Goes ATLANTA!

No doubt another gutless diversity appointment forced to resign:

The police chief of Atlanta, Georgia is stepping down following the Friday night shooting of a black man by city police amid nationwide racial unrest and protests over police brutality.

Erika Shields is resigning from her position at the head of the city's police department, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms said on Saturday.

Why do you think proclaiming yourself to be a non-American in every single post fools anyone?

An actual Canadian would realize that right now would be a good time to do a quiet fade on how much more "civilized" the RCMP are.

I didn't proclaim anything about my nationality in that post, queerbag. In this post, however, I will proudly proclaim my Canadian heritage, thanks for asking!
We're awesome, I know.:)

Why arent americans as civilized as other 1st world nations?

maybe because the u s is a country that was founded on genocide? throw in a long history of slave keeping, the myth of the macho wild west and the still ongoing civil war and you might begin to have an answer.

Well I have never declared there was no Racism in Canada, in fact I have pointed out that racism exists in Canada, on more than one occasion (mainly against the FNP btw)

Now given the choice of living in a society where some of the police may be racist, and beat up certain segments of society. Those "victims of police violence" can then turn around sue the police, over living in a society where the racist police kill the victims of racial segments, leaving the surviving relatives with no choice but to react with riots....

Atlanta and the surrounding area have a lot to offer from business to recreation. For a couple of decades it was one of the great growth areas in the country.

Hopefully, it is not all burned to the ground. That would be a shame.

I heard the Chief was on drugs. He had a screwdriver in his locker too.

Same as Seattle, if (D)'s decide they want to set it on fire, it's theirs to burn.....it's their constituents who will suffer.

I'm pretty sure their mayor...

will gladly stand aside and let BLM/AntiFa pillage the place.

It's unfortunate but it appears that appeasement with Leftist demands is not working. It emboldens them to take and destroy even more.

In each case constituents are in full support of the local governments that allow their cities to be destroyed and used as props.

Those citizens that disagree with the policy will need to make decisions whether to stay and fight for their property/personal rights OR depart for better managed areas.

It will NEVER be enough. :D

You get what you vote for.

NOBODY deserves it more than the people of Atlanta. :D

Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle and other decades-long Democrat-run cities seem to have a lot of issues. I wonder why that is?

And why do citizens continue to vote the same ineffective people into power?

Amazing! Luckily, other areas make better decisions. Hooray!

I listened to some Police experts talking about the incident in Atlanta. They mentioned changing from prosecutorial to helpful. I think driving as impaired as the victim was is an extremely serious offense. The man fell asleep in the line at Wendy's. The good people want to be protected from this behavior, and I think that is a reasonable expectation. The experts said, "Call an uber, call a family member, drive the guy home". Is that what we want? Are we prepared to accept bad behavior? The guy who got shot was a sociopath and did not deserve freedom. He had zero respect for police. Imagine how he treats his fellow citizens. He discharged a weapon at an officer. What if he disabled the officer and took his firearm. Should the police have let him go if they couldn't subdue him, and pick him up later? If you don't think the cops should have done what they did, what should they have done in the alternative.

So according to you, the cops can just shoot the drunk DUI charged drivers when they get out of control....

On a serous note, lethal force may have been justified in this case, but since there have been so many other cases where it clear was not a justifiable use ( even if it was legally defensible in those instances), with the current "outrage" in the US, are you surprised people are screaming for the cops head on this?

This cannot be a suprise to anyone....

"So many other cases?"

Name them.

If Floyd had never happened this one would have been used in its place. Justified, unjustified makes no difference to the mob that is in many cases demanding no police, no arrests, and empty jails

That's the way it always used to be. Until a bunch of mad moms got fussy.

It's getting pretty bad. If you were a cop nowadays, why would you get involved in anything? The cop in Atlanta clearly has a wrongful termination suit. Here was not afforded due process. I imagine police morale couldn't get any lower and the good people of the world, you know, the ones not passed out drunk in their cars and stealing a tazer from the police and aiming it at them. I'm still waiting for my negative interaction with the police.

Relegate them by fear to the role that most security guards play
(and I have worked as one in the past), glorified fire watch,
the main duty filling out reports about what happened.
Out with the proactive in with the reactive.
The property owner must either
assume the risk or
fill out the form.

The new motto for the criminal:
Fuck them, it's insured.

The old motto for Progressives:
Big Insurance is criminal
and RACIST!!!

Earlier this month, Wendy’s had backed the Black Lives Matter movement that mobilized after the killing of George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man, in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Wendy’s joined many other corporations in making large donations to organizations and voicing its support for the movement on social media.

You cannot buy indulgences or protection from this mob...

The lack of self awareness and context among police is surprising. Also with the black man. Run from the cops now? The guy was driving drunk, and that is definitely serious and there are consequences. I don't know any dads of 4 children who wind up dead drunk behind the wheel putting everyone else's children at risk. The cops seemed to start off very well and the situation was escalated by the eventual victim. We're training cops. Maybe we should talk to the community. They have an obligation also.

I can’t tell if this is meant as a sarcastic post or not.

If so, yeah, ok.

If not, it’s chock full of wrong.

The shooting cop had nine hours of de-escalation training in January 2020...so much for changing a mindset. I also wonder if the victim got scared that if he were cuffed he’d become another George Floyd.

I surmise that he tried to get away
because it took a while to register in his
alcohol-soaked brain that he was about to go to jail...

There is an alternative...

The Progressive Left has been pushing hard on the meme of the month,
'The White Police Are the Executioners of Black Men.'

With that sort of inculcation, his alcohol-soaked brain
might have reached the conclusion,
"I'm about to be lynched!"

Could be.

Occam says jail.
