Yoshiro felt silly as Lea slapped him lightly on the face. "Oh..." he said, remembering. Ah, Yoshiro, will you ever get over your penchant for melodrama? Maybe I don't know what to do, so I simply do what Tetsuru normally does...
Then he felt rough hands lifting him up. He didn't struggle--if someone was attacking him, he'd wait until it was a challenge. Then he felt handcuffs going on him. Either this is a well-prepared assaulter or...
"Alright, guy. If you and that girl want to do something, you'd better not do it on a public beach. As it is, I'm booking you for indecent exposure."
Lea protested, but Yoshiro didn't say anything for a moment. I don't want to say it's Lea's fault... I'd rather go...
"Her top fell off when she was hit by a wave. She was resussitating me because I choked," he said quietly. "Did anyone else see? There aren't too many other people here..."
"I saw, kid," grunted the policeman. "And that's enough." He eyed Yoshiro. "Put your shirt on, Adonis, and let's go. I have a quota, y'know."
A quota. Well, that explains it. "No one else saw this, and you know it. I'm a finalist of the Ryu-shin tournament, and I have a martial artist's honor! I wouldn't lie!" Yoshiro is growing angry, but only because he knows the ineffectiveness of any of his protests. "It's the first day of summer vacation, and my parents... aren't here to bail me out of jail." He snarled. "Anyway, you and I both know you're just trying to fill your quota!"
Obviously this had grated upon the police officer too long. He shoved Yoshiro backward, surprising the boy. "Dammit, shut up, kid! I'm a policeman, and I have honor too! I'm sick and tired of you stupid kids, you and your damn thugs, I bet you work for that kid Touji, and--"
He stopped. Yoshiro was holding his hands in front of him, and his hands were glowing red. He glared stonily at the policeman as the cuffs melted off and dribbled onto the sand, quickly hardening into a rocklike substance.
"Don't touch me," he hissed.
The policeman growled, and tried to shove him again, but Yoshiro shoved back, and the policeman stumbled backward. The policeman opened his mouth angrily, but they both knew that Lea was a witness, and that the policeman had attacked first. Shaking his head, the policeman stood back.
"Look, kid, I'm gonna remember you. You better not mess up again, you hear me? You're lucky nobody else saw!" And he stormed off, muttering to himself about getting a new pair of handcuffs.
Yoshiro was still steaming with frustration, humiliation, and a receeding sexual desire for Lea. He turned around, but then turned back, muttering, "Right, no kissing."
Then he twitched.
"No kissing!?" he said, a pleading tone in his voice but frustration in his eyes. "Come on! I like you a lot, Lea! And if you don't like me enough to kiss me, if you just aren't interested, just tell me! If you just want to be friends, fine! If you don't ever want to see me again, fine! But don't hold me off with one hand like this!" He shook his head. "Sheesh... I never know what you want..." He glanced away. "Maybe we just... don't know enough about each other."
"...I'm sorry," he finished. "Considering the things I've done to you, you've been more than kind to me, and very tolerant of my behavior. But..." He shook his head again. "...sometimes you just seem like two different people. Like at the restaurant. I don't remember what happened that night, and it's probably best that I never remember, because I just don't know what to do."
Finally, he turned back to look at her. "If you want to tell me what's going on at some point, fine. I'm probably just crazy, or something. But as it is... maybe we should just leave each other alone for a while."
And with that, he picked up his towel and walked away.
I guess its back to my normal routine...
"...huh."
Somehow, though, his mask didn't feel as good this time around.

Of course, neither Yoshiro nor Lee/Lea know about the invitation yet.
