Sounds like a great plot for a story....

I wake up the morning after the 50th reunion, in bed with with my best buddy from high school. I would have never imagined 50 years ago I would wake up, naked next to Mark, sheets still wet and smelling of the sex we had during the night when we returned from the reunion. Back in high school, I was just a crazy. confused teen age boy, but when Mark saw me presenting as Brianna last night at the reunion, relationship changed.

It was a great plot line. Watch "Come back to the 5 and dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean". Best version is the Robert Altman film with Sandy Dennis, Cher, and Karen Black. Slightly different, but the same reveal.

Back in school, we had a new teacher that just graduated from college. He was also coaching the school swim team and the local swim team. We used to try flirting with him and trying to get him to take his shirt off doing practice. Now years later my class was planning on the reunion party, couple of my old classmates brought up that he was still teaching and coaching. We decide to also invited him to the get together. After we left the bar, we goof off in the parking lot for a while. Some had their spouse/friends/relatives to pick them up. The coach and I decide to walk down the street to a hotel. We thought just get a room and wait till morning. The walk seem like 50 miles trying to walk in heels. We got to the hotel and didn't remember what we told them, but they gave us a one bedroom suite.

When we were in the room, coach gave me the bedroom and he said he will take the couch. I try walking, but the door seem to be moving, I took my heels off and that help a little. Coach got up and help me into the room. He told me to laid down when we were next to the bed. I crash on to the bed and my weight must have cause him to fall on top of me. He kiss me and we started making out and one thing lead to another we end up going at it like animals.

I've never had a class reunion in the last 55 years, and yes, I do occasionally meet up with my first high school girlfriend, the one I wanted to have sex with, and she wasn't opposed to it back then either. The only one I went to was the 5 year. The girl I had a crush on in HS was staffing the sign in table (her and I never hooked up because I ended up dating her friend). At my 10th reunion, I felt like a superstar. I was working as a journalist for one of the biggest newspapers in the country, fit, excited by life. My on-again, off-again jr. high/high school gf B was there, and it was lots of fun to see her. She was married, with a young daughter, but there was a fun, flirty energy between us.

On the second night, a previously heavy, rather homely girl (now woman) K arrived, having flown in from the Big City (not my Big City, but one all the way across the country). At any rate, K and I cut quite the figure as a couple for the rest of the reunion. We made out ferociously, but she made clear that she wasn't ready to go any further on our short re-acquaintance. And so she flew to her coast, and I to mine.

But we remained hot and heavy over the phone (pre-cell phone, kiddies!), and just three weeks later I took a trans-continental red-eye to turn our little spark into a conflagration. I had less than 48 hours with her.

We had a great time as she gave me a whirlwind experience of her adopted city. We ate at great restaurants and she showed me fascinating curiosities. But it was anything but sexy. We still made out, but K was nervous, uptight and seemed almost as if she'd played the role of hot child in the city too well.

But on our second, and final, night, we had sex. It was, as I've long recalled the experience, like doing a whole lot of pushups. There was, shall we say, a bit of a size discrepancy, and I didn't push things. But she insisted she just needed to relax. Eventually we got things going a bit, but every cell of her body radiated anxiety. We had sex, and it was lovely in its way, but ultimately uncomfortable.

A couple weeks later, she wanted to "try again." She flew out to my coast, and for the first couple days, anxiety ruled. Eventually, while visiting her brother in a city north of mine, we had a more relaxed and fun, if not wildly passionate, time together ... in a bathtub.

K and I remained friends, but whatever spark there was had been cooled by her (to me, bemusing) uneasiness with sex. Years later, the experience helped me develop a wee theory that often, not always, but often, people who talk a big sexual game are the most frightened and uptight, while the "good girls" (and perhaps, boys) and quiet types more often turn out to be the wild thangs their louder counterparts fail to be.

And now, for the rest of the story....

About a month later, B called to say she was flying to my city for an audition. She wanted to have lunch. We had a very fine lunch. And then she insisted we go back to my place, but since I was renting a room in an older woman's house, that was no go. So she paid — with her husband's credit card — for a room at a Holiday Inn overlooking the ocean and holy cow ... it was the wildest (and most painful, thanks to her fingernails literally raking down my back) sex I'd had to that point. She was so vocally enthusiastic I thought someone might call the cops.

And then she flew back to her family.

And for the next five years, she wanted to get together any time I was in our hometown. She got divorced and we hooked up several times.

I haven't spoken to K in decades. B and I are still friends. She's a firecracker, opinionated, hilarious and bawdy, married to a cool, new guy, and mother of three grown children.

But I sure appreciate the memory of K making me look like the hot commodity at our 10th!

I went to my 50th. There was lots of confused sexual tension, currents and crosscurrents, but nothing actually happening for me, and it didn't appear with anyone else either. Two of the three girls I'd been most attracted to in high school were married and with the guys they'd gone steady with all through high school— so nothing but a peck in the cheek and glances from afar, so to speak. In fact, a lot of people didn't show. So many had died, and more just weren't interested, I guess. I doubt if a third of our class was there, and it was a small school and small class to start with.

Thanks for sharing this! After reading through many of the responses, I feel that the "one-night stand" occurs in many cases. You had a fantasy and a longing to be with someone for many years, accompanied by all the emotions that come with it, and when it finally happens, it fades away.

Absolutely
