glad ya had a good time-- :nana: hope to hear more about it later--after ya had a chance to rest up-- :D

Ok, the summary of the trip...

EATING - lots of Mexican food! Rosario's was voted best Mexican, best TexMex and best Margarita. Food was great! Casa Rio's - one of the oldest restaurants on the Riverwalk - delicious food served in unbelievable portions. The chile con carne was awesome. Boudro's - OMG. Definitely a place to visit again. YUM, YUM, YUM and very creative with the menu offerings and presentation. There were other places, but those were the most memorable.

FUN - some of the highlights were the Segway tour, walking ghost tour and the piano bar at Pat O'Brien's. It is hard to pick a favorite of those three activities. They were all so very different. Now, to do the ghost tour on a Segway drinking a hurricane would just be the ultimate! Nah, the room was spinning enough just walking!

WEATHER - the city must have known we were coming. It was great!

walking ghost tour---did ya see any ghosts--i've heard bout the two ghosts that reside at the front of the Alamo--also the one at some old hotel there--that is
suppode to be ol'man kings ghost--

Nope, the ghosts had the night off but there were plenty of entertaining folks at Pat O'Briens that were enjoying their own spirits from the bar!

I would like to do the ghost tour of Houston or Old Town Spring... one day...

Anyone close to Beaumont interested in hooking up the last week of this month? Let me know

Woohoo! Dontcha just love 3 day weekends! San Antonio was a great change of pace. I just don't want to see Mexican food for a while!

sounds like ya had a great time - you should have gotten over to El Mercado and done some good shopping and then goto the mexican restaurant that is right nearby....one of the best I've had, and I'm quite the picky eater! :p

Are you speaking of Mi Tierra? If so, we tried hard to get there but ran out of meals to enjoy! It is definitely on the top of the "must do list" for the next time we go there. I read that they have now added a/c to the shopping area. Such a nice improvement!

I think that's it - I've only been there once, but that place is something else. Has been family run for quite a long time and has quite the mexican bakery on premises as well. I haven't been down to El Mercado in a few years as I don't know anyone that lives in SA anymore LOL there was A/C in the shopping area when I was there last, I think in 2003

Yup, they have a bakery. My aunt would go there "after the bars closed..." and highly recommended it. I asked her if she would kindly cut the story short and just tell me that she liked the restaurant. ;)

LOL one day I'll get back there - it's the one place that makes my mouth water just thinking about going

I was surprised that Mi Tierra wasn't on your spectaclar restaurant list. It's REALLY good....loud, but good.
