How big of a turn off is smoking to people?

Bi female here, but here's my take on it: Smoking is one instant turn-off for me, and I really don't have too many of those. You may be smoking hot, but once you light up I am out of there.

I cannot stand smoking.

That being said my partner of over 5.5 years smokes. I love him despite his smoking because you should love people for who they are -- not what habits they have or don't have...

The ground rules are no smoking inside or my vehicles. I have to say one thing I don't understand about HIS habit is that he uses Commit -- NOT to quit, but to get his fix when he cannot smoke -- mainly at work. Why in the world he mixes smoking and Commit, I'll never understand. My fear is that if he ever tries to quit again, it will be difficult as he has used this as a smoking delay device -- not cessation.

I don't like smokers either. I was going to hook up with a guy a few weeks ago, we emailed and talked on the phone and we were both excited to meet.

He had an 8" cock and I'd never been with a guy that big before, so I couldn't wait to meet.

Got to his place and we walked up to his apartment. I couldn't smell any cigarette smoke on him but once we got inside, he took a cigarette out and started to light up. I must have looked at him funny because he asked if I minded and I said I really didn't like the smoke.

So he put it out but the smell was there and I couldn't get past it now. We talked a little, he pulled his cock out, it was beautiful, thick, long with a nice mushroom head. But I couldn't go down on him just because of the smell.

I'm especially curious about lesbian women!

Like I smoke maybe 20 cigarettes in a week
I could quit I just like doing it for social reasons

I'm wondering if it makes me smell or something. You know like bad.
Or if other women just hate that in a person they would be attracted to?

i dont mind if people smoke, but if someone does, kissing them is terrible. i was fucking this girl last summer who smoked and she tasted like ash and like...idk i cant describe it. only ash. it was one of hte main reasons i didnt want a relationship with her, i couldnt stand it...but the SEX was good :D

A bi guy's view

I'm not really a fan of a prospective partner smoking as I'm not a smoker myself. That said, however, I have worked in places where I've been surrounded by people smoking like chimneys so if they REALLY needed to smoke I wouldn't object unless it was in my own home.

Smoking is a total turn-off for me. Like someone else here stated earlier....nothing is sexier than the way a woman smells. Her hair, breath, skin...and of course all of the special places too! However, when a woman smokes she smells like an ashtray instead of a woman. It's sad to meet someone and really take an interest in them only to witness them lighting one up. That usually ends the attraction.

Damn it shocked the hell out of me hearing this..

well think I had my last cigarette two days ago.

Maybe there hope for me still!

For me the smell of old stale smoke ruins the entire experience wih a woman. If you smoke enough the smell is not only in your hair and clothes but it comes out the pores of your skin. It's akin to sucking off a man that hasn't showered for two days. It is difficult or impossible to get past the aroma.

Although I'm not allergic to smoke, I totally agree with the comments by littlebitshe and Lappdog. Women that smell clean and fresh are the women that get my attention.

Do yourself a favor.

Smokes a ciggy and ponders.

I have said it so many bloody fucking times. I bloody fucking hate the hunt that is on smokers. So I smoke, and so what ? and the double standards makes me angry. Antismoking laws ? wtf ? I mean , I pollute less, than a car who is on alcohol, petrol, or just ordinary diesel. So CO2 kiss my butt. And I know smoking causes cancer, heart diseases and all the other shit. But the hunt on smokers makes me want to punch somebody in the face. And the worst ones are those "holy" non smokers who used to puff 60 fags a day. I can only understand those , who has asthma , or any other respiratory illness , then I will of course not smoke near you. But I would rather smoke a fag, than puff some drug shit. So to the anti smokers , kiss my arse ! ! ! And if you hate me ? well I couldn´t care less. Since you are so full of double standardised shit, that you make me laugh.

And when people begins their ramblings against smoking, then I smoke . Since I almost feel that every time , they are limiting the smokers. Then they are in reality violating the basic human right to be different. So I huff and puff, and blow in your face.

Haha I know how your feeling but I don't want to argue!
Maybe when I'm in a position of some power and got some leverage then I can start to negotiate! :D

Wolfman

You sound a little touchy and I don't blame you for being pissed if you are being bashed but I don't think that was the intent of this thread. If you want to smoke that should be your decision. If I want to eat a burger and intake a ton of fat that ruins my health, that should be my business and not the insurance company that will cancel my policy for being reckless. The day could be coming where I might be arrested for having sex in my own home, especially if it is with a woman that smells nice.

I believe ParrishP's thread question was directed primarily to women and how we feel about other women that smoke. She asked, and was particularly intested about lesbian women, if we (I'm Bi) would not like it in someone we would otherwise be attracted to. I think many (not all) of the responding women said they would be turned off and they don't like the smell and the taste of cigarettes on another woman.

You have as much right to smoke as I have the right not to smoke. And I have every right to push you away and refuse sex with you because I don't like the smell of cigarettes.

I hope nobody meant to intentionally kick you because you smoke. I'm sure we all have bigger issues to deal with than your tantrum.

Paige: if some one wants to arrest you, because you are fucking a woman in your own home. Then I believe it is time to get the fuck out of Dodge, or should I say USA ?

Paige: I started to smoke when I was fifteen and a half. And now I am twenty five. But if I quit smoking, then it isn´t because of the anti smoking campaigns. but out of my free will. And Paige , what you are doing, and other human beings are doing is judging a person. Because they are smoking, and some of the smoking people are hot too. But if you haven´t learned a thing if you people judge a person, because of the habit when it comes to smoking tobacco. You are judged by other people. Because your are either homosexual, bisexual or heterosexual. And at the same time, you judge people, because they smoke tobacco.

That is what I call double standards, or as we say in Danish. Double morale.

Because morale is good, but double morale is twice as good.

Meaning, the Vatican State plus the pope says no to preservatives. But at the same time, they own the biggest factories of condoms, prevention pills and so forth. Oh and by the way, what does the Pope and his holy men shun ? well isn´t that gay and bi people ?

And at the same time, his people are having "fun" as in paedophile fun with the choir boys. And the pope says "deny deny deny" !

So the double standards can kiss my buttocks good bye, or you can piss from here to Peking, and fuck Beirut.

And Paige, I think you are looking smashing great. And since you don´t want sleep with me, then I will say. So what, I can probably find some, smoking hot tobacco smoker who is just as hot.

Paige, you have a smokin ass he-he:)

I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, gives me a splitting headache if I catch one lungful of secondhand smoke. T_T

I dated a woman for over a year who was a heavy smoker. It didn't bother me much because she didn't smoke in the house, she was conscientious about using breath mints and perfume, washed any item of clothing she wore as soon as she was done wearing it. She was respectful of the fact that I am a nonsmoker and didn't like anyone smoking near me. I could honestly barely smell it on her. That could be part just me getting used to it though.

Don't date smokers, might fuck one at a party, but there would be no relationship. Can't stand the smell, the taste, the need to plan one's life around the next cigarette break, the lying when they say they are going to or have quit but they haven't, the expense, the health effects, the crankiness on a plane cuz they can't have one etc.

Guess you could say, definate turn-off.:(

Well...I'm a lesbian, and I smoke. And personally, I prefer to be with a woman who also smokes. It makes life much easier - you don't have to feel embarrassed or awkward about it the whole time. I'm dreading the reaction here - but the truth is, I rather like smoking - and it's nice to smoke with your partner, and have a cigarette together after sex.

I'm biased - but I personally think smoking actually suits some women, and can even look rather sexy. But I fully appreciate why a non-smoker would find it a real, horrible, turn-off. A former, non-smoking, girlfriend of mine often complained about how smelly she found me sometimes...and that's not good in a relationship!

I am a man and I smoke with that said I’ll say this.
I don’t smoke in the house or car because I don’t like the smell of it so I only burn out side.
I don’t like it drifting in my face and I will stand up wind of other if some people are around me who don’t smoke.
My wife is a non-smoker and I respect hers and other decision to not smoke. ( I did not smoke in the house/car before I meet her )
I think some people take anti-smoking stuff to far namely a law in CA. that has been put up for a vote. It says some thing to the affect that no one can smoke in an apartment or condo. (Just too many new laws in the US for me. What happened to the land of the free?)
In addition, I think law through litigation is a bad thing for everyone.

Now I am going out to burn one….

One other thing I don't kiss my wife till after I have brushed my teeth because even as a smoker I don't like kissing a smoker after they have burned one.
:D

I don't smoke. I don't like the smell of smoke or the taste of it. However, when I see certain pictures of people smoking sometimes I find it erotic. It can look sexy from afar. The way the smoke rises above their lips encircling their head.

Like in the b/w movies from back in the day. Think Clark Gable, Bettie Davis.

Hate it. I never smoked...well nothing legal anyway LOL...and it wouldnt matter how attracted I was to a woman. If she smoked, thats a 'dont even try and change my mind' deal breaker.
