Never would've guessed. :D I was referring to this comment:

Um, dont' know if you noticed this but it's only subs (well except for shankara) in this clique. Not that big a coupe, since none of us would know what to do with her if we got her.

Beyond that . . . HOORAY, KC GOT SNAGGED.

Thank you!

And YOU, dear ADR, were included in MY clique way back in my original post in this thread (#57 https://forum.literotica.com/showpost.php?p=17980555&postcount=57).

So there! Neener neener neeeeeener! *tweak*

And have I told you that your AV is just way hot?

Guess I missed that and thank you, but you know what I discovered last night?

I can move my plate a little if I scratch my head just hard enough. Was kinda creepy the first time I did it. Not so much now...

Oh and thanks about my AV... LOL. We'll see how long I can be this brave, huh?

... If I had somethiing like that going on, that'd squick me something fierce - for about ten minutes - then you wouldn't be able to get me to stop playing with it, short of tying me down...

it makes a popping sound... in my head, if you know what I mean? It's hard to explain and no one could hear it, I'm sure, but me. It was quite by accident that I even scratched that spot.

I'm thinking that if I have another surgery, the plate will be bigger and I'm not sure I would even want to touch that area.

Another interesting thing... I can't grow hair where the incision line is. Hair won't grow there again. Thankfully, I have lots of hair to cover that spot. I just want to keep it all, yaknow? LOL

And no fucking me with my head against the wall or the headboard. Pressure on that spot is an unpleasant thought for me. LOL

Hair follicles tend to not grow in scar tissue, true enough. Something to do with circulation...

I'm picturing one of those international signs, with the person's head banging into the headboard, and a big "no" sign through it, for right above your bed... :p

LMAO... good thought. Maybe I'll go create one in photoshop. Might bring a little humor to the whole thing.

Getting back to the clique thing. From my personal experience, cliques form in any online forum where people visit regularly and are usually long standing members. I don't know if you can call this a gang mentality or what...shrugs... I suppose there is strength in numbers...chuckles.."Lit swarming" if you will.
If you have been a Lit member for any length of time you can see who is part of this "clique" or wants to be and those "others" who couldn't give a rat's ass.
I also believe it is primarily a female thing (just like in highschool) there is usually a ring leader of sorts and the other lesser/weaker "groupies" who fall in line behind them.
If someone says something negative to a post made by "one who is in with the "in crowd", you can be sure one or two of the others will join in to berate the antagonist and stick up for their buddies. They will never say anything negative about a bud's post. Sadly it happens all the time here. A similar clique stunt is "thread high-jacking"
I think the majority of these females are immature and childish if not completely bored with their lives. Literotica is like a second home to these people and a part of their "weak" identities are wrapped up in these forums. They don't really have alot to offer in terms of experience or knowledge, but they so badly want to belong to something greater than themselves and that is what is most important, not what they say in the post itself.
No-one wants to admit that they are part of a "clique". It's one thing to be accepted as a member of a forum whose opinions are valued and respected (we all want that) rather, it's all the other petty nonsense that goes on around here. Gossipping in PM.s thats rich!...lmao...how friggin' typical.

There was one female (master in tow... note the small "m") who is no longer posting on Lit. (yes people there is a God). Oh yeah... that was one woman I thoroughly disliked (putting it lightly). The atmosphere here changed instantly the moment she was gone. There weren't many people who would disagree with anything that she said...why? only you can guess..fear of retaliation maybe?

Men don't often notice these petty going's on and I'm guessing that if they do they just ignore it.

Incidentally..nice boobs Rose ;)

Aren't we saying basically the same things with different words? If they've posted once or twice and not heard from again, how do you develope a friendship or in your words, how does a friendship have time to grow? It doesn't and we seem to agree on that point. I used the word impact... but we are saying the same thing. If they're not here, there's no chance for someone to become friends with them. I said 'reserve friendship', and you said it takes a lot of time for someone to become a friend.
Rose:

Personally I have always felt and will continue to view "a clique" as a negative concept. Forming friendships are very different. You know fairly quickly which people you would like to get to know or are like-minded. The only people I have gotten casual PMs from are exactly those women that I like and respect and the message usually pertains to a particular post. Ok I have gotten a few smarmy PM's from trolls.

Great posts, hotblooded. I think what you said is very pertinent to Lit, the posters and this board, in particular.

I can't disagree or add anything.

edited to add: I think you have described me to a T.

Thank you for your thoughts and impressions.

thanks for covering my ass Rose...

Again I've come out with guns blazing...sigh, not sure I meant to do that. Sometimes you just have to shoot from the hip yanno?

I'd be interested in knowing from anyone, including hotblooded, if she'd like to post again and any other newer poster, what exactly is the position of a ring leader in this forum? This is an honest and sincere question but one I've thought a lot about based on different posts here and a few PMs I've recieved about this thread.

My perception of a clique ring leader is one who everyone rallies behind, especially when someone, either real or imagined, attacks her, picks on her posts or othewise flames her. From my experience and my pathetic memory, the only person who has ever come to my defense is catalina. So, I'm quite sure it'snot (lol I did that on purpose to give fury and 'becca a chuckle) me. Furthermore, a lot of regular posters here disagree with my views on a daily basis, so it'snot (lol again) a matter of anyone supporting what I say, either.

And on the flipside, I don't view anyone here to be a ring leader. I don't side with a view someone posts just because I like him/her. I don't see any one person as being in charge of the direction that this forum moves. I think a ring leader would definately have some say in that.

I'm sure no one is going to want to post publicly and specifically on this but I think it can be approached without embarrassement to all concerned. If someone, anyone, would be comfortable posting to this, I'd be really interested in their thoughts. Thanks. ;-)

On another note: cliques (in the negative sense that most here understand them) are not strictly an online phenomena. They are all over in real life, too. And I don't neccessarily view them as negative. It's the action of the clique that can be negative, not the members themselves. It's when some kind of action (as in tag teaming) is taken as a group, that they can become a negative force.

But I've been known to be wrong and I'm sure someone here will show me the way... LOL.

Some people that post here just seem to be more friendly or attract more attention. Then others just don't want to talk to others, but this is the same stuff you see in RL so why wouldn't it happen here too??

Rose nice AV you have now, I will assume its you so that makes it even hotter.

Well, you did say this forum, and considering your current av, i'd say the position has to put rings in the obvious places, attach a chain, hold on to said chain, and move. i'm quite sure you'd follow said person anywhere that person chose to go. ;)

Good points. And there are many newbs who don't try to be very friendly either, so I guess it's a two-way street. ;-)

And yaarrr me bucko, that be me in the AV. ;-) It's talk like a pirate day and I'm doing my bit. lol

Well Captain Jack Sparrow is going to be with us again so you might as well. Hard not to like the female body in all its forms and varieties.

I guess the newbies want us to tilt nipple to them and just stop and jump onto whatever they are saying then?? I know when I started posting I was a bit jealous of a few of you guys and it took like a month of steady posting or so to make me like I was accepted.

I'm going to be really frank with you here... I've been flat out ignored by several newbies, those who I responded to in post and was very obviously ignored by them. So I've stopped trying to be Ms.bdsmWelcomeWagon. I try not to ignore people who quote me or pm me, but I don't forget when it's done to me. ;-)

And this isnot (LOL) an indictment of you, by any means.

I think you mighta done this to me but I'm a big boy and I don't have to have everyone respond to what I say. If I see someone responds to something I said I do try to say something but sometimes just the way I get on I could miss it by accident.

And I might have missed your posts too. I don't post to many threads here nor do I read most. I also have several of the thread starters on ignore so I don't even see their threads. (this is a new thing since my little condition popped up, I determined that Lit was for fun and distraction and I was not going to be annoyed by some folks anymore.) And quite often I'll post and after a couple times, not go back to a thread. (Case in point, are several on the talk forum that I've posted and not returned to.)

sighs though with much respect ......... the snot references (omg did I just write that) combined with an evolving thematic of scurvy Pirates. Bandana being the head scarf thang that Mr Depp uses to frame all that eye liner or tissues.

Hope that cleared things up Miss Rose :rose:

ADR and Miss Rebecca!

OMG, it's slippery as s--- in here.

(I've been told not to use the "s" word anymore donja know but thank you ladies for using it for me!
