How do Christians negatively affect your life?

I dont really believe in Jesus or "celebrate" the birth of Christ.
I am a product of my parents and tradition and simply enjoy seeing my family and having good food as well, not to mention giving presents to make them smile.
Are your parents Christians or are they hypocrites too? :)

BTW, your "President Bartlet" didn't "shut down" anyone because IT'S A SCRIPT. It's all FICTION and the actors have to go along with the script/lot. That you think any part of that is real is insane.
But the Bible references are real. For example:

"I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? While thinking about that can I ask another? My chief of staff Leo mcgarry insist on working on the sabbath exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police? Here's one that's really important because we've got a lot of sports fans in this town. Touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves can the washington redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side by side? Can i burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads?"

my father is Roman Catholic. My mother is not religious.
As for me, you are welcoe to think that I or anyone that celebrates Christmas with their families but doesnt actively go to church or believe in Jesus etc is a hypocrite, but I guess you know if you are nbot a hypocrite if you work on the Sabbath you shoukld be put to death for example.

case and point, as I was just mentioning above.
Thanks

Wow, calling someone a "hypocrite" because they enjoy a family gathering at Yuletide without believing this virgin birth crap!

Pretty much says it all about the way religious people think, doesn't it?

Im used to the right side on here calling me all kinds of random words...whether they actually believe them or just try to get under my skin...or both...I care not.
Most are comical.
Some do it with a bit more tact or flair or intelligence than others.

They are not to be taken seriously. I come to this forum to make fun of them.

To summarize, Christians bother you because they proselytize yet you celebrate the birth of Christ with your Roman Catholic father. Doesn't his proselytizing bother you?

Girl scouts selling cookies outside of Walmart must bother the shit out of you. Lol. :)

Goodness, Saint_Ann, you really do have a stick up your arse about people who celebrate their faith (or lack of it) in ways you don't cotton to!

I have a slight problem with people who hate Christians but celebrate Christmas. :)

And what problem is that?

It's illogical. Lol. :)
Why's that? Christmas is pretty secularized in large parts of the world. That's why the fundies get their knickers in a twist when someone says "Happy holidays!" instead of "Happy Christmas!"

Even the Christians think Jesus was born in the Spring. The Christmas tree and the winter solstice celebrations are as pagan as you can get. Christmas is Santa Claus and wreaths of holly, Krampus and Dr Seuss's Grinch, Ebeneezer Scrooge, Toys for Tots, stockings with candy (or lumps of coal) . . .

Maybe Kwanza would be better suited to y'all. It's made up. :)

Kwanzaa is no more "made up" than the Gospels.

Whatever your version of the solstice celebrations, I hope you enjoy yourself.

I can't get either of those links to work. They wouldn't prove your ridiculous claim anyway. Any nondenominational winter celebration is not Christmas. It's cool tho. Have a party. Just call it something besides Christmas. Lol. :)
Many pre-Christian cultures had a Winter Solstice festival. The religious significance varied, but the real purpose was always the same -- to provide a festive break in the winter. And that's all Christmas ever was.
