How do you get pic to appear in each thread

I have noticed that many people have pics showing on the left of their posts I thought I posted a pic on my profile how do I get it to show?

There are two profiles on this site; your member's profile and your Forum profile.

The picture on your member/author's profile is not the picture shown next to your posts in the forum. That picture is your Avatar and has to be uploaded after you get 100 posts by going to your User CP (at the top center of each BB page) and selecting Edit Options.

Your avatar must be smaller than 150 pixels in the largest dimension and in a format that is less than 10480 bytes in a disk file.

Hotlinking images into a post is done with the vB IMG tags. The image linked has to be accessible to the web at all times, not hotlink protected, and not require a password to view.

If you try to link an image from a site that has hotlink protection or requires a password, you'll get the infamous red-x instead.
