Sadly last night I practically begged her for sex. After a few minutes of silence she gave in. So im sure i wont get sex again until atleast July... really sad...

BB told me to shut up.

You've gotten some great answers, but it's your opinion that ultimately matters. If it bugs you enough that you'll post it on an internet website, it bugs you enough that you should make a change in your relationship.

I'm not saying at all that you leave this woman. There are hopefully other reasons you decided to be exclusive. What exactly are you asking her to do that she thinks it would make her a nympho? What does she want to do instead of having sex?

If you used to see each other only 2 days a week.. and you had sex both days.. that was "all the time." If you see each other 7 days a week and only have sex 2 days.. it seems like less but it's really the same. Maybe it's not as bad as you think.. but it's at least worth checking it out with her.

I refuse to leave her over sex, that would make me feel like our relationship is only based on sex and it's not.

When we started we would atleast fool around every other week, even if it's not sex I was happy with that. Now we will kiss constantly but thats it. No touching, no teasing. That's what I miss.

The only reason I came to the internet with this question is because I figured with everyone on Lit, someone would have had the same exiperience.

I have to be honest, I have always loved Ryan Black's answers in the past, but for the first time I think he has posted something that deserves to be flushed down the toilet.

Sex is so much more than politics, family relationships, etc. For a person with a strong sex drive, having a partner without a sex drive is just as frustrating as having a partner who is gay when you are straight. I've been there ... it sucks. And if the other person has a low sex drive, it really isn't something a counselor can talk you through.

The woman is telling you flat out ... sex isn't important. This is as good as it is going to get. (And as someone who used to be very active on the HMSU thread, if you start out with sex twice a month, twice a year is probably where you are heading.)

I don't see any reason not to leave someone over sex. If you are thinking about a lifelong relationship, there are some areas in which you need to be compatible. How important sex is in the relationship is something you pretty much have to agree on in order to be happy. Some compromise is possible, and in the short term, anything is possible, but if you are seriously thinking long term, to be happy you are going to have to be close on this.

AWWWWW our first fight!:D (I can't wait for the make-up sex!

I understand what you are saying, however your statement: For a person with a strong sex drive, having a partner without a sex drive is just as frustrating as having a partner who is gay when you are straight. I've been there ... it sucks. And if the other person has a low sex drive, it really isn't something a counselor can talk you through. is the difference between what you and I are talking about. My statement was more generalized--I have known couples who had great sex lives, but got divorced over shopping habits, or over inlaws, or over (YES) political or relitgious ideologies. The template relating to discussing and negotiating relationship issues. Regardless, of the issue, good conflict management skills and the ability to express and negotiate needs are tools which are helpful to couples.
