How long until Trump gets impeached?

Except Obama is popular, he's gonna leave office north of 50% approval ratings. People are just stupid.

Undeniably Obama is popular. After all, he was reelected with numbers that no other President would have survived.

What was stupid was Democrats assuming that the policies that The DNC champiooned were somehow accepted and acceptable to the American public when every other indication is that they are not. Historically this is a center-right country and every single time Obama was not on the ballot they lost large numbers of seats which should have told them the people were voting for Obama personally not for the Democratic party's vision for the future.

If it were up to me I would use the Harry Reid endorsed nuclear option and undo every single line that was passed by the Reid Pelosi Congress. I'd start calling the ACA "Reid-Pelosi Care(less)" before I completely obliterated it. I'd point out to the public that nobody read it before it was passed much less Obama and it's unfortunate that such a great president was buffaloed into approving such an atrocious give away to the insurance lobby.

The road map to victory that Hillary Clinton counted on was the "Where is Obama popular?" map, it had nothing to do with the actual politics. Interesting how the Democrats loved the way the Electoral College looked when they were quite sure that there were very few pahways for victory for Trump (or any Republican.) That map has now been redrawn, and suddenly they don't like the entire concept.

It was always unreasonable to assume that the voters that were electing Republicans to their state legislators and voting for Republican Governors were suddenly going to want to be ruled from Washington by Hillary Clinton. There's nothing reasonable about that line of thought.

Ending the Wyoming Rule would be nice.

Not for the citizens of the great state of Wyoming would it be nice. I'll let you have that rule gone as long as while you remove it every state gets to Simply decide whether they remain in the union under the new rules or not.

If it's so great why does barely anybody want to live there?

The only states that are not referred to as great States, refer to themselves as Commonwealths.

Obviously, it's a great state to the people that live there. The opinions of people that live elsewhere shouldn't even be considered. She also: electoral college.

because Colorado is already the coolest state in the region bro.

Stew

Not to be mean, but that is false, bro.

The mean temperature in Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, and Montana individually and together is much lower than the mean temperature of Colorado.

Do any of you think he will do a bad job?

The left is quite sure that none of his suggestions and policies will find any affinity with theirs. Which is kind of funny because he's a New York liberal.

He's far too liberal to have even been a Rockefeller Republican.

...and to translate that for you, liberal here means exactly the opposite of what it means there. The left co-opted the term to pretend they're in favor of actual liberalism

Somehow, I knew that this had to be a thread.

It's sort of the red-headed step child to the intimidate the Electoral College voters to overturn the election thread...

;) ;)

Even after being magnanimous and announcing that Hillary was off the hook, some idiots cannot follow leadership by example.

What I see is Trump destroying his 2020 opposition now. Grant and Johnson did the same after the Civil War when they hired the best and brightest of the Confederate military away from national politics. The South had its niggers back in chains 10 years after the war ended, and they stayed chained till now.

Think anything will come out of the alleged voting pattern (emachine) irregularities in Michigan?

I have no idea.

I could not care less.

Outside of a few fanatics, the national election is over...

The only topic worthy of debate is the list of executive orders that Trump has announced.

Gawd, Allah and Buddha how much do I look forward to the consternation of the Obamanation when his [Obama's] EOs are overturned...

This is what happens when you cannot compromise in order to enact legislation; you have your petty ways of pen and phone, and then you are repudiated and overturned by the people you circumvented. Sucks to be Hillary after Obama shot her in the foot. She was a "shoe-in."

lol

In 1857 the Supremes ruled (Dred Scott) slavery is legal everywhere and blacks are resident aliens with no civil rights. Them in 1858 Lincoln predicted (House Divided Speech) slavery was doomed tho it was the law of the land. So he needed justification for a war to force emancipation upon America.

Works for me seems worth the risk. The Electoral College and Congress were obviously never meant to be a straight translation of the popular vote but it was clearly meant to be closer than it currently stands.

And just for the record I think Congress is too large as it is and that at the end of the day we probably need a ground up rework but that's clearly not happening.

Well shit...I was in the bush moose hunting for a week and last I heard she lost it.

Oh well...is she still moving to Canada

PS That Ulaven guy sure is a dick

I think well over 2 million now although I didn't do my research today, I've only read that on 2 sites.

Technically, Article II Section I of the United States Constitution renders any popular vote margin potentially "insignificant." And the relatively few times that insignificance is manifested says not one damn thing indictable about "majority rule." It is merely a representative majority of electors based on Congressional seats vs. a democratic majority of individual voters.

People should really get the fuck over it or get serious about changing the Constitution.

Ok. I have no idea what that has to do with what I said.

I assume maybe my comment about her numbers being "not insignificant" but I wasn't commenting on the system in any way whatsoever. Just the numbers themselves. I really couldn't care less what the actual rules say about it.

I think he will resign before his term is up. I'm not convinced he really wants the job
I wonder if this will happen. He's clearly out in the weeds right now, and realizing the true depth of what he's signed on for. If he does resign, I hope its early enough in his term that Pence can't finish it AND run twice.

It is absolutely outstanding commentary on this country that the best and the brightest the Democrats could come up with gets beaten by a guy who doesn't really want the job. If that's not a repudiation of the last 8 years I don't know what is.
This has been my problem all along. HRC is a completely polarizing figure. The people who hate her, REALLY HATE HER. Someone at the DNC should have sat her down 2 years ago and been honest. She should have been told that she makes a terrible candidate, though she is completely qualified to do the job. She should have been convinced to continue as Secretary of State, and continued to hold appointed positions where she could do good. Her ego and the DNC fear (incompetence?) didn't allow for that.

I've personally wanted the Electoral College gone from the moment I learned about it in around 7th grade. We claim One Person, One Vote, but then, for the highest position, that's not what we do.

As a side, I was thought the EC was implemented because the founding fathers wanted to have an out in case the public really blew it. I can't thing of a better to say "nope, you people fucked up." But, I know they won't.

That means Pence would be president. No thanks.

He's a shit bag, for sure! Thought, I wonder if he'll be more powerful than most VPs anyway.
