How many stories do you work on at a time?

It always seems like the mind and the fingers can't get their act together. I'm either full of ideas and lacking the fortitude to put them down or just the opposite. It never hurts to have a few going at the same time, but make sure that you don't leave a chapter story out there unfinished. That does not go over well (Nor should it ... spank spank) with readers.

Welcome to you, reverse cowboy as well as any other relatively new persons who happen upon this neck of the woods, from someone who is neither a new person that feels left out and ignored, nor an old established AH'er who looks down their noses at interlopers. I'm the guy that neither camp really gives a rat's ass about... and I'm happy as a :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: !

For the most part, I've settled into a writing pattern of

1 Novel Length Story

And 'break' stories to cut through the blocks, writing confusion, and general malaise of working on a 600 page story.

With the present novel project, I've racked up.

2 Multi-Chapter stories (Completed)
4 Single Chapter stories (Completed)
1 Series with 8 individual stories (Incomplete)

At 'one' time, I usually have no more than three stories going if you count working on a 'single chapter' story as part of the 'working on' thing, which I don't.

Sincerely,
ElSol

I don't think I can count that high. :(

I do have three stories including a multi-chapter job that are finished, but I promised myself I wouldn't post anything new until I finished the novel I have up now. The way that's going, I may never post again.

Oh well, I got the oil changed in my car today so at least I've gotten done one thing I wanted to do.

I try to keep at least 3 in different stages of draft from. That way, if I don't feel like the creative rough draft stuff, I can go to revision, or I can go to proof work ... depending on mood.

Ooh, that's a really good idea. When I feel writers' block I usually start another one, but proofreading would probably be more efficient.

Hmmmmmm, right now I have one story in progress, it's going slow. I also have one story I'm editing for posting. Oh and I am in the process of writing out ideas for another story, but I'm stuck on how I'm going to start it.
