How-To Board Spotlight: Newbies!

In what year did you lose your virginity?

I'm going to have to plead the 5th on this one.

Top 3 favorite sectons of Lit stories you like to read?

I usually go to the new stories first. Then I wander over to the First Time thread and then the Erotic Couplings.

Whats for dinner tonight?

No clue for right now. Waiting for my niece and nephew to arrive so that I can take them out to eat. It's going to have to be a place where kids can find something on the menu to eat. However, we are NOT going to McDonalds.

What would you do if you were the opposite sex for a day?

Ummmmm, I will probably have to go shave my head just to see what it's like not to have to worry about hair. But if I am not going to be able to get my hair back when I switch, I won't do that. :D

Favorite junk food?

Oy vey! So many. I love nachos and popcorn at the movies. Doritos are always good on a road trip. ColdStone ice cream ... well, it's good no matter what the mood. Is french fries considered junk? I love french fries and ranch dressing at Red Robin.

Favorite band/musician/group?

Right now, Keith Urban is on the top of my list. I have a thing for Rob Lamothe of Riverdogs.

Last book you read? good/bad?

I am in the middle of Better Judgement by Gwen Masters. It's freakin' awesome!

If you were an animal, what would you be? why?

I probably would be a tiger. They're gorgeous and strong. Plus, sexy as hell.

Chicken or the egg? why?

Chicken.

What are 3 things you couldn't possibly live with out? (we'll assume Lit is the 4th

You said things ... okay. I couldn't live without my cellphone, my computer and my car.

Which of the following restrictions could you best tolerate: leaving the country permanently, or never leaving the state in which you live now??

I couldn't tolerate leaving the US. Although there are times when I've had it up to HERE with the politics, the overcrowding, the high cost of living, the traffic ... you name it. Oh wait, I'm describing California! LOL!

On a busy street you are approached apologetically by a well-dressed stranger who asks for bus fare. He says he lost his wallet. What would you do? If approached in the same way by a haggard-looking stranger claiming to be hungry and unable to find a job, what would you do??

I'd be suspicious of a well-dressed stranger who didn't have a cellphone. I'm from Southern California and I don't know of anyone who doesn't have a cellphone. Oh wait, I know of two people ... so never mind. I'd try to help them both for as long as I feel safe.

What do you value most in a relationship??

Trust, honesty and communication. I think those three go hand in hand, no matter what kind of a relationship you're in.

Which is more important: actual experiences, or the memories that remain when the experiences are over?

Memories. At the risk of sounding cliche-ish, they are forever.

Have you ever had a one night stand??

It wasn't intended to be a one night stand, but it was.

If you could script the basic plot for the dream you will have tonight, what would the story be??

A cyclist, a vacation ... and what two people do when they're on vacation.

Are you interested to have cam to cam cyber sex?? (whoever says yes to this one pm me we need to chat...lol)

Ummmm, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

What was your best experience with drugs or alcohol? your worst experience??

Too long to recount, I'll have to get back to you on this one.

Would you have plastic surgery??

Not quite sure.

How many people in Lit would you like to get to know on a more personal level??

Two. I'm in the process and it's wonderful. :D

1988 - 1st year of uni, 18 years old and I was well and truly taken by a more experienced woman that I am still happily married to :)

Top 3 favorite sectons of Lit stories you like to read?

Um - I tend to be quite random at story searching - guess I like to be surprised.

Whats for dinner tonight?

Bit early for me to think about it but probably a light pasta. I cooked roast lamb last night if that matters. (I am the primary cook in this house). Rightn now I am thinking of cooking my wife breakfast in bed when she wakes up.

What would you do if you were the opposite sex for a day?

Introduce my wife to the wonders of lesbianism.

Favorite junk food?

I'm not much of a junk food eater but chocolate would be one of them.

Favorite band/musician/group?

Well, I have been a DJ for years and with it comes a very wide taste and appreciation for music. When I am playing I try to get into whatever sort of music gets the particular crowd off. If there has been one band I have followed through my music loving times it would be Midnight Oil - now disbanded with the lead singer into Australian Politics. Their live performances were so raw and powerful. But right now I am into the Ministry of Sound Chill Out series.

Last book you read? good/bad?

I tend to read magazines - car mags, electronics mags, audio mags. The last book was probably "How to rebuild your small block chev" - since I am currently rebuilding the chev in the boat.

If you were an animal, what would you be? why?

Had to think about this one, and now I think the answer is conceited.... but - A male Gorilla - the leader of a pack of female gorillas.

Chicken or the egg? why?

You know - I never get this one - too literal for me..

What are 3 things you couldn't possibly live with out? (we'll assume Lit is the 4th

Boring answer is food, water and shelter. More interesting is my wife, my kids and a loving relationship with all of them..

Which of the following restrictions could you best tolerate: leaving the country permanently, or never leaving the state in which you live now??

I couldnt leave Australia - this place has too much going for it. I dont even have any real desire to travel OS. I guess I could even be happy staying in my state - NSW, just so long as I didn't have to live in Sydney. There is enough diversity here to keep me more than happy - snowy mountains and the ocean to the east, flat grassy plains that graduate into desert in the west, and everything in between. This is an awesome country. Still thinking about coming Sheath?

On a busy street you are approached apologetically by a well-dressed stranger who asks for bus fare. He says he lost his wallet. What would you do? If approached in the same way by a haggard-looking stranger claiming to be hungry and unable to find a job, what would you do??

I would probably offer to drive the well dressed stranger. Living in a country town you just do that sort of thing. Re the haggard stranger. I wouldnt give them money but I would walk them into a shop and buy them some food.

What do you value most in a relationship??

Friendship, love and I have to unashamedly say that a healthy sexual relationship is also a biggie for me.

Which is more important: actual experiences, or the memories that remain when the experiences are over?

I feel different saying this, but the experience is probably the thing for us - we just like to experience new things - experience life. If the memories were more important then I feel like I would only have to do everything once.

Have you ever had a one night stand??

Sort of. There was a girl at our school - the quiet type but aparantly highly sexed. There was no romantic connection between us at all, and she was always quite distant from me, but one night on camp she just lobbed in my tent, snuggled up, and we fooled around sexually. No PIV but everything else. Then she just left and the next day it was all back to normal. Same thing happened on another camp but this time I was sharing a tent and she decided to get it on with both of us. Again no PIV but it was fun. Beyond that I was probably too shy to be able to take up the lead on a one night stand. If only I knew then what I know now.

If you could script the basic plot for the dream you will have tonight, what would the story be??

That it rained fo the proverbial 40 days / nights here. This drought - now 6 or so years on - is so depressing. Given that I am a waterski adict, and that our lake and dams have all but dried up... Things are looking up though - we have had some good rains in the past months.

If I can have a second bite another dream might involve some time with Heather from ideepthroat.com.

Are you interested to have cam to cam cyber sex?? (whoever says yes to this one pm me we need to chat...lol)

I have never done it with a cam but wouldnt mind. I used to have hot hot cyber a lot with a friend in CT. My wife used to join in for some extra added fun :) Sort of a long distance threesome. Occasionally her hubby would also join. We used to exchange pics a fair bit, I guess a cam would have turned up the heat. This was in the early 90's on 14.4k modems so the bandwidth issues meant that cybercams were uncommon.

What was your best experience with drugs or alcohol? your worst experience??

Never had time for drugs. I think I have had about 2 tokes on a joint in my whole life - and it did nothing for me. Alcohol - well, I like a drink but rarely to excess cause I just get too darn sick too easily - the worst hangovers ever - Like a recent one when I was in sydney and felt like I was going to die in the hotel bathroom after a big night out. Searching for a good one (or 2).... I actually like a little drink when I am DJ'ing. Not a lot, but it helps to get with the mood of the crowd. I like it when you just get into the same groove and mood. The second would be some of the pissy parties we used to have in our 8 person outdoor spa tub. Things would get a little frisky and fun between all the couples - hot bubbly water and alcohol did wonders for the inhibitions :)

Would you have plastic surgery??

Probably - although on a male I dont know what for.

How many people in Lit would you like to get to know on a more personal level??

About four I can think of - there is a very hot couple on the pic forums, and , well - everyones fav - Sheath - anyone who can write like that must be both a very interesting and a very erotic person. Number 4 - well , probably SXCR :)[/B]

Why in the world would I mind? :) I love question threads, and this is turning out to be a very good one!

1. How do you picture your funeral? Is it important for you to have people mourn your death??

Hard question...I try very hard not to think about my funeral, because that would mean leaving my children and those I love, and I cannot stand the thought of that. However...I would hope that 'mourning' would not be the word that springs to mind...I hope 'remembering' would be. I hope to leave this world with more laughter and good memories for those I love so much.

2. What do you strive for in life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge, or something else?

Inner peace. Once I have that, everything else seems to fall into place.

3. Would you like to have your rate of physical aging slowed by a factor of 30 so as to give you a life expectancy ofabout 2,000 years?

Only if those I love could do the same thing, and take the journey with me. :)

4.How many different sexual partners have you had in your life? Any regrets? Would you prefer to have had fewer or more??

I can count them all on two hands. I have mild regrets about one of them, sometimes, but I can't change what happened (or the absolute bastard of a liar he turned out to be...but I digress...) so regrets are kinda pointless, aren't they? I am content with the number of partners I have had...they all meant a great deal to me, and I learned from each of them. That is always a good thing.

5. If your friends and acquaintances were willing to bluntly and honestly tell you what they really thought of you, would you want them to?

Absolutely. If they aren't honest, how can I ever know what I need to do to be a better friend?

6. Who is the most important person in your life? What could you do to improve the relationship? Will you ever do it??

My children...though I get the feeling you aren't asking about the children, are you? Children being the most important people in a parent's life is a given, I suppose.

Other than them? Well...he knows who he is. And I would certainly do whatever I could to keep our connection strong and secure.

7. The classic question..Is cyber cheating? Do you cyber and why and how many people do you do if with if any??

If you aren't telling your significant other? Then it's cheating, plain and simple. No, I don't cyber.

8. Would you like to know the precise date of your death?

No. I want to live every day as if it were my last.

9. How much do you like your body??

I like it a lot, actually. I'm voluptuous, curvy, and I feel sexy most of the time. I'm comfortable in my own skin...literally. :)

1. How do you picture your funeral? Is it important for you to have people mourn your death??

I want to be carried to the grave in our boat - just one last blast around the lake.

2. What do you strive for in life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge, or something else?

Simple - happiness. I have no real long term ambitions - just to live life to the fullest.

3. Would you like to have your rate of physical aging slowed by a factor of 30 so as to give you a life expectancy ofabout 2,000 years?

Nope - Given the damage we have managed to do to this planet in our short time here - I dont think I want to live out another 2000 years. I even worry about what my kids will have to deal with in 60 or so years.

4.How many different sexual partners have you had in your life? Any regrets? Would you prefer to have had fewer or more??

One and a half. The one being my wife and the half being the previously mentioned fooling around at school camp. I'm now 34. Would I have liked to have more experience? Well, it used to bother me but not now. It even bothered my wife to the point that she asked if I wanted to experience somone else. This sounds like bragging but... I have had plenty of opportunities and have managed to turn them all down. If the situation arose however and both of us were into it (wife and I together) I would probably take the opportunity without hesitation. Male curiosity and all :)

5. If your friends and acquaintances were willing to bluntly and honestly tell you what they really thought of you, would you want them to?

I would want them to, even though I know it would hurt. I tend to take such things to heart but what are friends for if they cant look out for you and set you straight somtimes.

6. Who is the most important person in your life? What could you do to improve the relationship? Will you ever do it??

Same answer - the kids. Before we had them the answer probably would have been myself - at least thats what my wife says :) Its fairly good but I guess I need to be less of a cranky dad somtimes. I'm better than I used to be so I guess I will do it some day.

7. The classic question..Is cyber cheating? Do you cyber and why and how many people do you do if with if any??

It aint cheating if you tell your partner and print the logs for them to read :) I used to cyber with one person in particular. My wife knew and occasionally joined in. I think she sort of saw it as a safe way for me to experience another woman (see above). It got a little too serious though at one stage so I backed off. I havn't doen it in years though.

8. Would you like to know the precise date of your death?

Nope - who wants that hanging over their head?

9. How much do you like your body??

I'm happy enough with it - guess I'm a bit thin for my height but it has it's advantages. Sort of David Bowie but a bit healthier and younger looking.

Pat.

1. How do you picture your funeral? Is it important for you to have people mourn your death??

It's funny, I never really think about my funeral although every once in a while, I will think about how I die. When I was younger, I thought it would be important for people to feel bad when I'm gone. But now that I'm older and accept that death is part of the beauty of life, I'd like to be remembered by the ones that I love.

2. What do you strive for in life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge, or something else?

I suppose that a little bit of everything that you mentioned there is something that I strive for in life. But I really want happiness and contentment. However, I believe that it's a journey and the rewards are reaped by the lessons you learn along the way. Love, however is a mainstay. Without it, everything else is just ... useless.

3. Would you like to have your rate of physical aging slowed by a factor of 30 so as to give you a life expectancy ofabout 2,000 years?

No. I don't want to outlive the people that I love and value the most.

4. How many different sexual partners have you had in your life? Any regrets? Would you prefer to have had fewer or more??

Regret is a tough thing to live with. I try not to regret anything that I do. As far as the number of sexual partners I've had, more than one, less than 10. :D I am happy with the number of partners that I've had.

5. If your friends and acquaintances were willing to bluntly and honestly tell you what they really thought of you, would you want them to?

Yes. Honesty in a relationship is very important to me.

6. Who is the most important person in your life? What could you do to improve the relationship? Will you ever do it??

I would say that my brother is the most important person in my life. Our relationship grows with us. We've been best of friends since the day he walked into my life and that was 27 years ago. :)

7. The classic question..Is cyber cheating? Do you cyber and why and how many people do you do if with if any??

Cyber IS cheating. I don't cyber. I don't see the point in it. I've done it a few times yes - but it was with someone that I actually had a relationship with. Never mind, another lifetime ago, don't want to get into details. If you turn to someone else other than your partner for anything intimate, then it IS cheating.

8. Would you like to know the precise date of your death?

It depends. Sometimes, I do ... but most of the time I don't really think about it.

9. How much do you like your body??

What's not to like? ;) LOL!!!

1. How do you picture your funeral? Is it important for you to have people mourn your death??

It would mean a lot to me for people to feel I made a lasting impact on their lives. Maybe a small religious service, and then go somewhere and tell my favorite jokes and stories and laugh through your tears.

2. What do you strive for in life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge, or something else?

Contentment, and a belief that I am making a difference in one or two people's lives.

3. Would you like to have your rate of physical aging slowed by a factor of 30 so as to give you a life expectancy ofabout 2,000 years?

Yes, because I'm curious as hell, but no, probably not.

4.How many different sexual partners have you had in your life? Any regrets? Would you prefer to have had fewer or more??

Just one. I wouldn't call it a regret, but I've always wondered what it would be like to have experienced more...variety.

5. If your friends and acquaintances were willing to bluntly and honestly tell you what they really thought of you, would you want them to?

I don't think my ego could take it. My feelings are far too easily hurt.

6. Who is the most important person in your life? What could you do to improve the relationship? Will you ever do it??

I can't pick just one person. Husband and children. I tend to be kind of a doormat, so if I could learn to say no every now and then, I'd feel better and I think they'd respect me more.

7. The classic question..Is cyber cheating? Do you cyber and why and how many people do you do if with if any??

For me it would be cheating.

8. Would you like to know the precise date of your death?

No way.

9. How much do you like your body??

Not a whole lot, as there are significant portions of it that don't work quite right. But my brain is alive and well, and as long as I have that, I'll put up with the rest.

My turn.

1. You're having a dinner part for 4 (3 guests and you). You can invite any three people, living or dead, celebrity or not, your choice. Who would you invite, and what would you serve?

2. What is the most difficult thing you have to do on a regular basis?

3. What would you do if you won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes?

4. Is Lit common knowledge or is it your secret guilty pleasure?

5. Is the glass half full or half empty?

6. Do you have a favorite movie?

7. Would you like to come over and wash my kitchen floor?:D Sorry, couldn't resist since I was asking questions...

It would be a blast to combine interesting people from history. Right now, though, the group that I would really enjoy putting together would start with a couple people from Lit. I'd invite Beloved0903 plus Sheath and a guest of her choice for an old-fashioned clambake complete with pounds and pounds of lobster, pecks of clams, and even a burger or two for the meat-eaters. :D

2. What is the most difficult thing you have to do on a regular basis?
Check my tendency to be overly analytical.

3. What would you do if you won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes?
I'd start a scholarship fund.

4. Is Lit common knowledge or is it your secret guilty pleasure?
One or two people know, but that's it.

5. Is the glass half full or half empty?
It's always at least partly full.

6. Do you have a favorite movie?
Yes. Oh, I suppose you want to know what it is? ;) A Man and a Woman

7. Would you like to come over and wash my kitchen floor?:D Sorry, couldn't resist since I was asking questions...
Sorry, I detest doing my own too.

Hmmm...my idea is the same as midwestyankee's, actually. :D I really like the thought.

2. What is the most difficult thing you have to do on a regular basis?

Deal with being too far away from those I love.

3. What would you do if you won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes?

Donate it all to the local women's shelter, the Performing Arts Academy, the CMA Musician's Fund, and cancer research, most likely St. Jude.

4. Is Lit common knowledge or is it your secret guilty pleasure?

Common knowledge. I write erotica, so most of my friends would be shocked if I was NOT visiting here. ;)

5. Is the glass half full or half empty?

Half Full. Always.

6. Do you have a favorite movie?

I have a few favorites, but I can't really name just ONE. I like "Unfaithful", "Deterrence", "The Usual Suspects", "Driving Miss Daisy" (I'm a huge Morgan Freeman fan!), and...a few others.

7. Would you like to come over and wash my kitchen floor?:D Sorry, couldn't resist since I was asking questions...

Sure. Can I stay for dinner? :D

George Bush and John Howard - not so much over the war on terror but to try and analyse how close the relationship between the two leaders actually is. Common thinking around here is that Little Johnny jumps to George's chain. What would I serve? I'm not sure but I would want to do something like when Bart serves the three eyed fish to Mr Burns and he has to eat it. Peter Garrett would be the third - he would be the Lisa Simpson of the sitting.

What is the most difficult thing you have to do on a regular basis?

Teach - that's not to say that I hate it or can't, but that it requires a lot of planning and you really have to work to capture your audience.

3. What would you do if you won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes?

People actually win those things?
Set up my kid's scholarship funds and then buy a nice house that I have had my eye on for a while on the side of a particularly peaceful lake in the Snowy Mountains. Then we would have lots of weekend getaways up there. I wouldn’t give up work or our normal routine though.

4. Is Lit common knowledge or is it your secret guilty pleasure?

Semi Common - she knows about it and I print the odd interesting thing off - like the MR G thread, but since she doesn't ever surf the web that's about it.

5. Is the glass half full or half empty?

This is another one of those literal ones I'm not good at isn't it? My coffee cup is currently empty but I'm sure I have missed the point.

6. Do you have a favourite movie?

Yes and no - bit like my music tastes - I appreciate a wide variety of things. The only thing that springs to mind is the last Fat Pizza movie (you Americans don't know what you are missing out on). On the surface it is just a slapstick spoof, underneath there is a great deal of clever political satire. Others include cop drama style movies, docos like Columbine (yet to see 9/11), The Rabbit Proof Fence (great aussie piece). I cant stand chick flicks though.

7. Would you like to come over and wash my kitchen floor?:D Sorry, couldn't resist since I was asking questions...

Well, I am a very domesticated male so it wouldn’t be a big deal. What's the reward and what do you want me to wear while I do it?

Yes, this is a silly thread. But it does have a purpose.

Okay, so all of you "regulars" have noticed there are quite a few newbies...and we're not talking trolls. Newbies who are actually serious about giving out their advice and support, who really do have something to say. This little how-to board has suddenly exploded with them, and this is a GOOD thing. ;)

So, in borrowing a ploy from the wicked General Board, let's try this: A spotlight on those "newbies" who are quickly becoming a "regulars".

Y'all introduce yourselves! And answer some questions so we can get to know you a bit better. :D "Oldies" can answer to, as long as somebody posts new questions every so often. Fair enough? Okay. So...

I'll start with the questions:

1. What brought you to Lit?

2. What is your favorite hobby? (other than Lit, of course, which rightfully should be everybody's favorite little hobby. ;) )

3. What is your favorite quote?

4. What is your weirdest claim to fame? (You know, the kind of thing your hometown would put on a road sign if only it weren't so...well...weird.)

5. What is your favorite charitable cause? Why?

6. What do you drive?

7. Describe your favorite place in the whole world.

8. What is your most wonderful accomplishment?

9. Where did you come up with your Lit name?

And last but not least (since this IS a porn board, technically)...

10. What is your favorite position? :D

***

Welcome, new friends. :rose:

S.

Although I am hardly a Lit newbie, I guess I should answer this since I may be new to people on this board.

1. I don't even remember why I started posting here.

2. My hobby is my passion... Guitar. Some people would even say I am good at it.

3. Favorite quote.... Tough one. I don't have one at the moment.

4. Wierdest claim to fame... When I lived in Austin I dated a woman that dumped Lyle Lovett to date me. And she never regretted it so she says.

5. Favorite charity is the local food bank. Any local cause actually. I think you should do your charity close to home.

6. Drive. I don't.

7. My favorite place would have to be Austin. That is where my best friends of 20+ years live. I will always call it home no matter where I live.

8. Wonderful accomplishment.... I don't feel I have ever done anything wonderful. I have been sober almost 12 years. That is prolly my most noteworthy accomplishment.

9. Lit name.... I play the Blues. In fact it is my neickname in some parts of the world.

10. Position. That would depend on my mood and my partners mood.

Hersixstring, your answers are similar to mine.
Except I am a natural born Texan. :D
