How to deactivate a multiquote queue?

Apparently, when replying to a thread I've added a quote to a multiquote queue. Now I can't quote anything, it just gets added to this queue and I have no idea where to find it and how to deactivate.

When you are making a post, click on “insert quoted messages” (might not be that verbatim, but it’s close). All of the messages queued up for multi-quote will appear and there is an icon next to each that will allow you to remove them one by one.

Thanks, but I don't see anything like that. I see the "quote" button and when I press it it adds the quote formatting to the text field

Ah, I’m an old-timer here and on classic view. I’ll grab a screenshot of how mine looks, but I can’t stand to be on the modern view and haven’t spent any time with it.
