Both I suppose. I can't tell you how to be creative but some things I've enjoyed in my inbox, a "sorry it'll get better" note after I mentioned a break-up, a short poem, a little flirty role play, and one sweet guy "*leaves out a bowl of milk*" if I ever want to talk, and "*strokes your hair softly*"
But that's just some examples of things I liked. If you're taking time to PM someone, why not try to get a response?

Forgive me for bumping this, but I did check the rest of the thread and there was one point no one else mentioned:
As the OP said, this is "How to" (appropriate location!) "Get A Response."
I've seen a great many young men whining, "Why aren't they responding?? I send out PMs to hot chicks and they totally ignore me!!"
Well....for those self-same young men that are curious: this is usually how you get a pm response from a woman. It's intended to be helpful, food for thought. Not forum rules. It's basic human interaction.
So, your response, just disregarding her post and saying, "If you can't take it, don't read it"?

The one thing that trumps all the other possibly tacky stuff (IMO) is when guys get pissed off at me for not responding! I'm not f-ing attached to my computer! God forbid I have a life, you know? Of course I said that in my profile, which leads me to believe they never read it. I get easily 100+ messages a day...if the entire content of your message is you asking me to watch you wank it online...sorry. I have the 3 guys who asked me thoughtful and interesting questions to answer first.

Well I always thought of it this way, if I am to PM someone there was something that caught my eye besides her AV, so I want to get to know her besides just something she said or a picture she posted. I enjoy sexy and fun chat as much as anybody but also like to know a little about someone, and all chat doesn't have to be just about sex.

I completely agree that flirting in the threads is different - I love that. Seeing how guys act and respond in the forums is my preferred way of getting to know them....almost always.

I must admit though that I am being very generous with answers to all but completely senseless PMs. I always assume possibility that somebody who sounds like a complete idiot might be just desperate, clumsy, inexperienced and/or have low social intelligence. Maybe they are human. Maybe they can even be fun if I help them loosen up.
I have already made fun out of guys spelling and punctuation to get back a very witty and perfectly properly written message. So not all is lost on everyone.
Of course, I am not going to keep giving them chances forever.
On the other hand I admit I like brutally teasing men sometimes so lot of them stop messaging me and run off on their own even before I am done with them.
