I could tell it was, but sarcasm is hard to read in social media for many people. There's a name for the principle, which I've forgotten (I'm sure Bramblethorn will know). There's a tendency for people to interpret what they read in social media as being completely earnest.

Is this serious? Where the hell was this mod on all the other threads? I do not support what this person was saying and I have spoken against personal attacks a million times, but there was nothing radical in this thread that would warrant a mod intervention. If this was enough for an intervention, then there should have been one in almost every major thread we've had here. Amazing.

FWIW I’ve not reported the troll. I’ve never reported a single thing on Lit. The ignore button is my big gun, not crying to teach.

And I might add that I’ve had some truly vile stuff said and sent to me. I mean vomit inducing. Not even in the same ballpark as the above juvenilia.
