One of my fave tactics to use on people like that is to make it absolutely clear that I'm around (i.e. by posting on threads, etc), but not reply to them for upwards of an hour at a time.

Oh I wasn't around at the time. I was off doing chores and stuff that needed to be done. He was an asshole who expected a reply right away and I couldn't give that to him...
He also kept threatening to keep messaging me in order to make me respond.
The last message he sent was "your life is getting in the way of my conversation..."

Instant blocking. I'm tired of people who can't respect that I'm not on 24/7 and that I'm not here to constantly entertain them... PATIENCE!!
