I miss the fitness threads and the fitness Doms!

Can weight lifting make you gain a couple of pounds the day after? I'm so annoyed.

If it did, wow, steroids would not be needed.

Joking, no, it should not. Did your eating change that day? Perhaps you ate in such a way as to be retaining water?

Maybe too much salt, but it's a meal I've had plenty of times before without any issues. Sigh. It could be hormonal as well.

If you're a woman, it's probably hormones......;)

I did 100 kickass minutes today....feeeeeeling great! Woohoo!

I'll be ready for a nap in about an hour, after the post workout endorphin rush wears off....lol

Son of a Monkey

Shingles.

I have motherfucking shingles.

M and I are supposed to start all these fitness classes tomorrow and my one-sided back pain has been punctuated by...

fucking shingles

I hate my fucking meds. I hate this fucking disease.

I could probably uese three post boxes to go on about my physical problems right now but it all comes down to one thing:

I want to be fit agalin.

I used to be able to lift weights 3 times a week for an hour and then do half an hour of cardio. Now, something's wrong with my back that is probably related to an autoimmune diisease and I have sacroilitis . I go in for half an hour of muscle manipulation and acupuncture and then half an hour of exercises that I used to do as warmups. And they make me sweat.

I'm finally going to a clinic and making serious effort to lose weight, and I'm pretty sure that this time I'm going to make it, but it would be so.much.easier. if this back thing hadn't cropped up.

And nobody wants to treat it because it's chronic pain. Aaargh.

Aw, Netz, that bites. L had shingles once, he said it was excruciating. Sorry. :rose:

decided to join a fitness class to tone the last muscles the way I want them to be, but instead my back gave up, and I think I should count my blessings if I can get out of bed tomorrow morning :(

Yesterday I got all diligent and shit, and cleaned coffee off all of the shelves in the fridge where someone had left it to decompose, and scrubbed stains off the floor with a scrubby pad, and scrubbed the fence with a brush...now my back is killing me. God I hope THAT doesn't happen again.

She's prolly not burning much that way:

I got mine in, but overdid it a little...so I'm resting in the ac....

Does she only have one leg?

Health and fitness tip for the rest of you:

don't get shingles.

Christ, this hurts. Your L is a big tough boy, K, you know it's gotta hurt.

I'm sorry, Netz. I haven't had it, but I know the pain is simply awful. Have they given you something?

I got 80 minutes in today...still feelin good and no shin splints..

Good luck with the shingles, I've know people that have had them, and they said it was excruciating.

:(

I know. He practically has to lose a limb before he'll say that something hurts so, yeah, I know it must fucking kill.

I say again...:(

A little over 90 minutes again today...woohoo!

Plus..added bonus... one of the younger girls that work out in the gym, one I had never talked to, came up to me and said she wanted to tell me that her and her girlfriends were checkin me out..and wanted me to know how good I looked and how much of a difference the time I've spent there recently, had paid off.

Talk about a nice boost..

Did some biking with MIS today. Just did some easy riding in the wetlands park on the big gravel loop. Usually do three loops but today we did one with a foray into another trail, so about 1.5 loops. It was just too damned muggy. Every breath felt like it weighed a pound and a half in our lungs and MIS was having a lot of trouble with it.

Still, we biked. Better than doing nothing.

Ditto, hope you've at least got some good meds.

Well, I'm on a NSAID that targets the area. The only things higher are narcotic and I don't want to start down that road. It doesn't completely take care of the pain but between it and the electric acupuncture my physio is doing my back is improving. Very slowly.

It's better than August to October, when I was in chronic pain every day and had nothing to take for it. I would have taken narcotics then if they were offered. I don't know how some people do it.

Thanks guys, antivirals and percosets rock my world. Now I'm just pissed that I can't get back into a routine. It's still kind of grim on the surface, so going to a class is out of the question and riding the bike doesn't sound like a great idea yet. But I think this may be a 3 week rather than 6 week stint. I'm just annoyed at things getting in my way when I've finally got a discipline going.

I know what you mean.
I am a very "switch it up" person so the fact that I have to do the same exercises over &over again until my back is better sucks. One of the things I liked about my training sessions was that every one was different. I also don't know how my present trainer will respond to the biting sarcasm and swearing that comes out of my mouth when I'm working at full potential. We will have to see. He looks a bit too innocent.
I am still tired from eliminating the fat but with the extra protein I don't feel wanting. I actually sat there and watched my family eat home-grilled burgers without feeling envious. (Of course I did have a cooked chicken breast sitting in the fridge to slap between a bun if I was.) It's not bad. I feel like I'm eating all the time.

I'm still in the obsessed stage of working out. I've been very disciplined about going and watching what I eat,, and have seen some real good results. I'm sure the time will come when the obsession wears off, hopefully by then I'll just be in the habit of going.

Don't give up guys and girls...

I got my 90 in again today...woohoo!

Yesterday was the last deload day. We did..... nothing. LB showed up late and had to leave twenty minutes later, so we had no meaningful time.
