I Wonder . . . .

I wonder...

And I wonder if the power of the mind is stronger than the body, and that I may be a fool for going off my prescription.

Hmmm... undoubtably though we don't often recognise it. Some exercise this 'strength' every morning, just to get out of bed, though not all of them are ill.

I've been spared any of the drugs that might be termed 'mind altering', I take enough of everything else, but that doesn't mean my mind wishes to be left in isolation controlling unconsciously the diverse range of skills required to allow me to walk across the room. Consciously harnessing this source of power to overcome life crippling illness is a different ball game with a huge numbers of detractors against the few who claim success, the few who've willed away terminal and other illness confronting conventional wisdom.

And because it's a few, their achievements are both derided and excused as 'statistical probability' - given a million sufferers, a singularity is always going to escape death's clutch, it is statistically provable, which doesn't help to explain 'why'.

My morbid fear of dentists permits me to overcome toothache, tooth pain last about a day before I can mentally remove the pain. Prove it... I can't, who could?

I've had my mind exert it's authority over my body in a variety of ways, most recently it decided to show me the individual stages required to enable me to walk. That it chose to do this in the middle of a crowded pedestrian precinct displays a certain irony. It had me staggering and stumbling like a drunk for a few minutes, quite what the purpose was I'm not sure... other than to remind me my mind shadowed my soul.

You can always PM me if you want a sympathetic ear.

I wonder if investing in the person I've become means I've given up on the person I want to be.

I wonder if I peed, farted and sneezed at the same time, would I have to go to the hospital?

I wonder if we'll ever find an energy source that will cost little to nothing and will leave no carbon footprint?

I prefer to think that you're cultivating the person you want to become. :rose:

I wonder why I've lived the life I have, if there is more in store for me or if I've already hit the apex of my life and am now coming down.
Is there really a denouement to life? I think it depends on how we live it.

I wonder why it's so easy for some guys to walk into a bar and strike up a conversation with an attractive woman.
.
Define easy and then describe the guy, could be multiple reasons. He could be really nice and used to people seeing that or he could be delusional.

Only if you tell them.

I'll just agree with Black Shanglan on that one. Pay attention and keep track, I tried it recently and it really sucked. :rose:

Your life is what you make it. If you live it like the best days are behind you, then that's what's your life will be like. If you live it like today is the best day of your life, then life will never be dissapointing.

Solar power.

I wonder at what point in time our society decided not doing things was more important than doing things?

Thanks, Neon. I've given this a lot of thought over the past couple of years. I realize I'm taking my life in my own hands, but who better to make decisions for me?

I went over my decision with my doctor and an 'alternative' specialist. Both warned me of the dangers, but also helped me to understand what it would -- or, as they said, might -- take to help me beat this condition on my own.

And if it doesn't work out, and I wind up in the hospital again, well, I guess I'll know.

Solar power.

True, but the technology currently available to utilize it wouldn't power cities or replace fossil fuel as a primary form of energy. I'm sure in a few decades it might.

I wonder why some people are so gutless that they can't offer an apology when they obviously know they've been an ass.
