If finding an editor is so easy, why don't you have one?

You mean something like the Editor's Forum? ;)

Not sure how much luck you'll have, though there is anecdotal evidence of people receiving offers through PM after posting there.

Well, what do you know...some smartass added it already

Is that a thank you? :D

Seriously, I do hope you find an editor that meshes well with your writing style & personality. Just don't be offended when the first response you get to your thread there is a link to the volunteer editor page. ;)

Because "How do I find an editor?" was 'The Question' on there.

PS Thanks for the nice comment.

I must have been really lucky with the editors list.

My first story was rejected because of paragraph length. I found Chat_Wizardress and she was fantastic. She taught me so much from that first edit, I haven't needed to go back.

You have to be lucky BlackSnake, and I think that's why they suggest in there, that you ask first before you send your story.

It takes a long time to edit, and I'm sure if anyone sent their story to a few and a couple took up the challenge of editing the story, they'd be pretty peeved to find they weren't the only one that helped.

I hope CW doesn't get a thousand stories sent to her from this, I just wanted to voice my gratitude.

Good luck finding an editor BS. Keep me in mind :D

I had great luck first time out of the gate. I posted a request for help on the Editor's Forum and here. Four people came forward with offers to help. They all asked me what type of help I was looking for. They made sure I knew that what they sent me back, were just suggestions to be used or not, as I saw fit. They turned a train wreck into the little story that could. Some fit better then others but I took something from each of them. It worked for me is all I can say.
