Illusion Vale: A Spirit's Cry

Fay and Faelin

Fay frowned but then laughed softly. "A talking wolf is yelling at me for not being normal..." She said more to herself. She conitnued to walk but didn't bother to cover it up, there was no point because people would still wonder what was going on and no one was around so why stress about it now?

"I was just thinking..." She said as they walked and she stared at her necklace. "Who would leave something like this behind?" She asked. "And do you think it's just a necklace? Or something more?" She asked as they continued to walk along. "I think it's magical... Is there magic here?" She asked suddenly looking to the wolf.

"I wonder if I can do magic..." She said. The next hour of chatter was Fay trying to figure out if she could perform magic. She tried to set things on fire with her eyes and then thought about ice abilities... electricity was a nope.

"So... Obviously I don't have magic," she said as they were getting closer and closer, though it was becoming more and more obvious that they weren't going to make it to the city tonight... maybe if they ran they would have made better time....

"I was thinking..." She realized that she said this a lot hoping to start a better conversation. "There have to be others like me right?" She asked.

The Air Elemental finally spoke, her form shifting over the pebbles and mud to brush intimately across Danae's healed legs, "This could be considered heaven, but you are not dead by any means," her voice, though airy, was soft, silky and smooth.

"Welcome to Illusion Vale,"

Danae scrambled back from the...ghost? that was touching her. "Hell?" she asked. She brought her hands up to her face to brush away her hair and for the frist time noticed the changes there as well. Thick claws now tipped her fingers, more like talons and there was webbing between the bottom of the fingers to the frist joint. Her teeth felt strange, sharper and her vision was...off. Colors seemed duller, though everything was as sharp as before.

"What...who are you? What are you...I'm ..." She looked around her at the lake and the trees, at her own changed form and functional legs. crazy...dead...drugged "Confused."

Than and Valic

“What is it where I come from?” Than bit at the corner of his lower lip, thinking about the world he had left behind. He was sure that Valic didn’t want a history lesson on the human race, so he decided to keep it simple. A smile grew a cross Than’s face as he looked down at Varic.

“I tell ya one thing fer sure, we didn’t have any smart assed elves thinking they could best a giant with only a pair of Arkansas pig stickers.” Than said as he leaned over and gave Varic an elbow to the shoulder. “In fact there were no elves, or true giants for that matter, except in legends and myths. Science took over for magic and such things, I once read a theory about how all the magical beings went into hiding when science started to become stronger than magic, unicorns tearing off their horns to masquerade as horses and such. But, like I said that was all legend. I am at a disadvantage trying to explain to you my world, knowing so little about yours.” Than thought for a few seconds. “Varic ya really wanna know what it boils down to where I came from?” not waiting for an answer he continued, “The all mighty dollar. Yup that about sums it up. Who can out do who, better clothes, better car, better house, but ya know something, I don’t believe it. I ‘m what ya would call a simple man, I enjoyed the simple things in life. People in my world tended to be in to much of a hurry, and for what, to pay more taxes? To play the one upence game? Shit listen to me I’m babbling away and I didn’t even bother to ask what it was you wanted to know about my world. So now that I probably have you totally confused, are there any specifics you would like to know?

Asterion and Fell

The shadowy figure laughed, "Do you think that I want a puppet? I did not bring you here to be a puppet for anyone but I did bring you here for a reason. You need a place where you can be free to wreak chaos on those around you. Your heart yearns for it, it has yearned for it ever since you were born."

It moved closer to Asterion, the night around them growing ever darker as it did. "Do you want to live under rules that tell you how you should do things or do you want to be free? To live in this place means that you will be free, free enough to do anything that you wish to. With Fell as your guide you can destroy everything that stands in your path."

Fell's eyes brightened with malicious glee, it loved the thought of killing things and it knew that by staying with Asterion it would kill as many as it wanted, it had been promised so by them.

"We's love that we gets to kill thingssss....."

The shadowy figure ignored Fell, intent on Asterion alone.

"These Guardians are the only ones that could possibly stall your chaotic ruin and give The Spirit the strength she needs. They were once from your world but she brought them here to try and save this one. In so doing, she opened the gates for us. We saw this as our chance to bring you here, to save you from your death. All that we ask is that you destroy her and any other living being not on our side."

The shadowy figure stepped backwards, entering the mirror once more, the reflection pausing, "Puppet? No. Allies, I think so,"

Then it disappeared, a shimmer in its wake. Below the mirror, a twin headed great axe appeared. The handle was roughly five feet long and the blades were razor sharp, curving to each side with a wicked gleam. The twin axe head was two feet in diameter with the blades reaching a curved three feet each. The blades were midnight black, the sharp edges having a blood red glow.

Fell laughed then, hovering over the axe, "The otherss provides us well, we's should repay thems with usings this,"

Then it waited, waited for Asterion to follow his calling. Waited for the blood to start flowing.

Eeth and Van

"Well, Van, until we know for sure what people's opinions are about the Guardians, I suggest we keep the fact that I am one a secret. I trust that you will do that,"

Van nodded enthusiastically, "Oh Van can keep secrets! Van keep heaps of secrets, Van good secret keeper. Van keep this one secret that Van's sister used to be Van's brother for so long that-" Van's ears suddenly wilted and he looked away quickly, scratching his head in confusion. Gee... talk about awkward.

Luckily, Eeth didn't seem to notice seeing as he was too busy feeling as if he were being watched, "I think I'll climb one of these trees and see what's around us,"

Van nodded enthusiastically again, eager to forget his little slip of the tongue. Elise was going to kill him!

Mewing quietly, Van followed Eeth up the tree and lazily licked himself while Eeth took a look around. He turned around a few times but couldn't see much further than a few miles, his eyesight not being all that fantastic. Van didn't have much of a problem with the tree and soon scampered down alongside Eeth.

Van licked his paw and wiped it across his nose, "Eeth climb trees good, maybe Van start liking Eeth more, nya?" he mewed and gave Eeth a little cat wink.

Suddenly out of the inky black beyond the trees another elf appeared. "Van, how did I know to find you here?"

Van squeaked and promptly hid behind Eeth, cowaring and hissing. The elf chuckled.

Roughly 6 foot with long blonde hair, Rolyn was an unusually large elf. His muscles bulged, and though not uncomely, he was still considered ungainly for an elf. He bowed elegantly enough when he said, "The queen knows of your prescence, Eeth and bids you welcome to Suvin Forest. I am here to take you to Neferin," he cast a glance at the neko, "This - cat thing - would most likely have gotten you lost,"

He looked towards Eeth with expectation.

Eeth

Eeth had indeed not heard Van's slip of the tongue earlier, being preoccupied at the time.

After climbing out of the tree, Eeth took a look around, but once again saw no one. Then from his right, came a voice that addressed Van. Eeth turned to see another elf, just as tall as Eeth but bigger. Leave it to an elf to sneak up on another elf, thought Eeth. I had a feeling that I was being watched, but I expected more. Oh well.

Eeth returned the elf's bow, and listened as he spoke. Well, if this queen knows of my presence, then I wonder what else she knows of me? wondered Eeth. To the elf, he said "Aren't you forgetting some manners? You know who we are, but we don't know who you are."

Largos and Len

"I am better than him. I thought that I would always be the same but The Spirit called me here for a reason and I plan to find out what that was. I will not kill him and go down the same road that I left although I will not lie to you and say that it is not tempting. With the power that this body has given me I could easily do what I did before and never get caught."

Len nodded her head, screeching softly and landed on his shoulder, "That is a wise choice. Once we get to Vale, I will inform the Spirit of Raster's doings and she can handle it from there. The right way. She fluffed up her feathers and watched with curiosity as Largos picked up some weaponry. She tilted her head to one side, "Do you really know how to use those?" she highly doubted it, but it was comforting to know that he at least had something to compensate for her own failings.

"Is there any way that you can get the two of us to see The Spirit any faster?"

Len cocked her head to one side, thinking. She could easily get there herself, but unfortunately, Largos didnt' have the benefit of having wings like she did. She suddenly realised that she would have start thinking like a two legger if she was going be any good to her new charge.

"First, there are things we must pack for a journey. It is about a week to get to Illusion Vale and another half a week just to get out this forest," she then took him to Raster's kitchen and told him which supplies to pack into some saddlebags.

Then she took him to the stables, instructing him on how to saddle the two horses that Raster had kept for himself and gave him a quick crash course in riding.

The sun was just coming up in the sky when they were finished. Len sqawked in alarm, "Get inside, now!" she screeched to Largos, fearing what the sun would do to his new body. This was going to be a problem....

Michael and Sila

Sila clapped her hands to her eyes and gave a little 'eep' of surprise. Durbin's mouth curved into a deep grin, his belly laughter ringing out along the cavernous walls.

Standing, completely stark naked, in front of them was a red haired dwarf. A very short and stocky red haired dwarf. His beard ran down to his chest, his long wild hair making him look as if he had just gotten out of bed. He was barrel chested and muscles bulged from his arms and legs. The brandy skin lay discarded at his feet, the dark liquid pouring from the nozzle, the pipe still smoking on the ground.

"What am I now?"

Sila peeked through fingers, blushing slightly. Her voice came out muffled from behind her hands, "You're... ummm... you're... short," she managed to get out.

Durbin gave another bellowing laugh, several other nearby dwarves trying hard not to do the same, then he grabbed a cloak from nearby and settle it around Michael, "Aye, and yer bum's boot as white as ther moon," he grinned.

Michael looked down at himself. "Dont act like your not impressed lads." he said to those laughing as he picked up the pipe and continued smoking. "So im a dwarven werewolf, this is bloody phenomenal, and i thought the marine corps was a bloody ball." he said situating himself. "Shall we continue then?"

Dinnie and Goreab

Goreab stuttered, cowaring as Dinnie 'found' himself a little more, noting that he was in a slight state of nakedness. At least he wasn't yelling at poor Goreab anymore.

Goreab plucked up some courage and scampered to crouch in front of Dinnie. The lovely Spirit wouldn't have sent him here to meet a vampire unless he was a good vampire, would she? Goreab didn't think so. He remembered her smiling face and her beautiful voice when she spoken to him and given him this mission. Goreab didn't have to like Dinnie, but for the Spirit's sake, he had to at least be nice. Maybe, if he was a good little imp, the Spirit would actually let him touch her this time.

It wasn't his fault he was in love with the Spirit. She was just so pretty. And it wasn't his fault that when he wanted to express his.... love... for her the first time he'd seen her, that he only reached her knee. He stared off dreamily into the darkness, for a moment forgetting the naked vampire in front of him.

He'd show Her. He could be nice... and one day he'd get away from Malas and touch Her again. He would! He promised!

Goreab shook himself out of his love struck reverie and grinned toothily at Dinnie. Then he reached behind his back and began untying his single piece of clothing. A dirty, thin, ragged loin cloth.

Then scampering forwards more, Goreab patted Dinnie's knee hopefully and placed the loin cloth in Dinnie's lap. "I'm nice, you can tell her that. I was nice to you, you won't eat me now," he croaked in his strange high pitched voice.

Fay and Faelin

Faelin shook her head, silent through out the entire ordeal where Fay tried to do magic. She would eventually, but Faelin didn't feel inclined to giving her that little piece of information. It would just lead to more trying. And if Faelin had to see Fay screw up her face like that one more time... she would leave her right here and never come back. Not even her one time mate had gotten on her nerves that badly.

They would not reach the city tonight, especially with Fay walking the way she was. The wolf didn't quite understand why she got so distracted so easily, but there it was. Even birds can fly in a straight line... but Fay walking in one... not a possibility. Of course, Faelin was just being her usual cynical self again.

"There are other Avian people around, but none here that I know of. They seem to prefer the more rocky climes and I've only ever heard of them settling down in the mountains," then she swung her head quickly to face Fay, "I prefer not going to the mountains just yet," her late pack were there and she was not inclined to revisit her banishers just yet.

"I can take you to a small campsite travelers have set up during the years. There's always supplies and beds for those two leggers that need such things,"

Then she trotted off, trying to make the campsite before nightfall which was only an hour away.

Danae and Sishota

Sishota drew back, baffled at Danae's reaction. "I am a Wind Elemental. My name is Sishota, and you are in Illusion Vale," she smiled, her voice soft and soothing, "I know you are confused, I would be too if I were dragged between worlds,"

She floated closer, reaching out a whispy arm to caress Danae's forehead, "What is your name? You may ask me any question and I will try to answer as best I can," she smiled again, a motherly expression on her face, "I am here to be your guide in this world,"

Then she settled just above the mud at Danae's feet and waited patiently for the disordered Selkie to recover some of her mind.

Than and Varic

“I tell ya one thing fer sure, we didn’t have any smart assed elves thinking they could best a giant with only a pair of Arkansas pig stickers. Varic quirked up an eyebrow as he absorbed the new information. It was true that the giant as babbling somewhat, but Varic managed to get all the relevant information he wanted. He looked up at the giant and gave him a smile, laughing softly, "Perhaps I should be more specific, friend. Then I would not have so much information to sort through," he thought for a few minutes, walking in silence as he thought of his next question, "What sort of animals do you have? And what is this 'science' you speak of?" Most all of what he knew was magic and he was curious to see what kind of animals they had. If they were any different from the Vale's.

Eeth and Van

Rolyn chuckled, "Yes, how rude of me," he extended and touched Eeth on the shoulder with a massive hand, "My name is Rolyn," he looked over Eeth's shoulder, "And the cat behind you knows me," he licked his lips and gave Van a wicked grin, "I hear he could be quite tasty," there was a hint of humour in his eyes and he winked at Eeth, trying to set up a more easy manner. It was a habit as most people tended to be on the defensive as soon as they saw the large elf.

The truth was, Van was a messenger of sorts and he made many trips to Neferin. All of its inhabitants, while some had never met him personally, loved the cute little cat creature. But their manners and general aloofness from other species left the poor neko confused and Rolyn's numerous gibes about wanting to eat him didn't exactly help.

Van hissed and yeowled forlornly in Eeth's ear flinching from Rolyn's hand, "Van know Rolyn. Rolyn evil," he pouted and mewed again, clinging onto Eeth's shoulders almost painfully,"

"Ahhh, you know that queen doesn't want me to eat you," Rolyn said and turned away, a few other elves appearing from the trees. He said some quiet words to them, Van's eyes darting around helplessly and digging his claws into Eeth, and then they melted away once more, all trace of their appearence gone.

"The forest has become increasingly dangerous as of late and we've been keeping an eye on you. My friends will make sure we reach Neferin with no further trouble," then he grinned and began to trot through the undergrowth, "If you keep up, I'm sure we'll get there before dark," and he was gone.

Michael and Sila

Sila peeked through her hands again and saw that, while not clothed, Michael was at least decent. Blushing furiously and trying to avoid looking directed at him, she fluttered towards the middle of Guardan Hall, Durbin trailing behind the two.

They entered the longhall and she smiled, seeing the general merriment inside. There was drinking, boistuious laughter, eating and the general raucaus of drunk dwarves.

"Awww... so cute," she said. Some of them recognised the little fairy and raised their mugs in salute and bellowed her name out with drunk enthusiasm. Durbin rubbed his hands together and smiled, puffing on his own pipe. "Ye've caught us in a gid mood, we've just run off some 'o thar goblins from thar lower pastures," he nodded in self satisfaction, hitching at his belt. Sweeping his arm across the room, he smiled again, "Help yerself to anything, I'll be bringin yer some clothes soon,"

Any friend of Sila's was a friend of the Dwarves of Guarden Hall. Well, it helped that Michael was a dwarf too.

Eeth

Well, so this is where Van gets his fear of being eaten by elves, thought Eeth, recognizing the humor in Rolyn's eye. He clenched his teeth when Van clung to his shoulder painfully, and turned to send a little glare the cat's way.

When other elves appeared, causing Van to dig his claws in, Eeth turned his head and said in a low voice to Van "If you dig those claws in any deeper, I'll eat you myself, whether the elven queen forbids it or not; I don't answer to her."

When he lifted his head to look at Rolyn again, he only saw the elf's retreating back. He pulled Van's claws out of him and then set off after the other elf, not really waiting for Van to follow.

Michael looked at his surroundings "I could get used to this" he said, enjoying the sectacle of the feast.

Eeth and Van

Van looked at Rolyn as he walked away and puffed himself up, "Evil elf. He always mean to Van but Van get back at him. He no get a chance to eat Van."

He then watched as Eeth walked in the same direction as Rolyn, not even waiting to see if Van was following him. He grabbed Sticky tightly in his paw and his first thought was not to follow them but with a forlorn mew started running in their direction.

"Eeeth wait for Van! Eeth forget that Van here," he muttered to himself afterwards, "Evil elves always do this to poor Van," he yeowled and ran faster to keep up, "Van knew Eeth evil!"

Michael and Sila

Sila giggled as she heard Michael's comment. Durbin bid them a brief farewell and went off to hunt for appropriate clothing for the werewolf. She fluttered above the tables and nibbled on some food, tasting her own little specially designed mug of watered down ale.

Soon she was hiccupping and dancing on the table, laughing and fluttering her iridescent wings wildly. Oh dear.... she had started to sing her now favourite song in her tipsiness. And the dwarves had joined her...

"Faaaaark, fuck. Faaaark, fuck. Faaaaarking fuck..."

What became of Michael, she didn't know. But she did wake up the next morning with a very large headache and misty memories. She went to find Michael and found out he had been given a room opposite her small one. He was given a chest full of donated clothes and some small pouches of gold for good luck. And an extended invitation to stay in Guarden Hall for as long as they liked.

Sila smiled. She loved dwarves!

Largos and Len

He turned to look at Len when she screamed in his head and tried to figure out what was wrong with her. He opened his mouth to ask but before he could he felt something hit him with the force of a hammer blow. He started to scream out as he fell to the ground and started to claw at himself. He felt as though he was burning up and wanted to ask Len what was happening to him but all that he could focus on was the pain that was going through every part of him.

He wanted to crawl inside, hoping that it would help him but found that he could not move, as if his new body wasn't responding to anything he wanted to do. He lay there screaming even louder as the sun rose higher and higher until he was bathed in its light. He rolled over, watching as the sun lit up the forest around him but when he saw it he knew that it was different. He was seeing everything with the eyes of an elf, the same eyesight that he could see with the first time he had opened them when coming here.

He slowly pulled himself to his feet then walked into the inn, looking around. Raising his hand before him he moved his fingers then flexed it, feeling normal. He looked down his body, wondering if anything had changed but when he saw that he was still wearing the same clothing as when he had come here he turned to Len.

"What has happened to me? I thought that the sun was meant to destroy a vampire. Am I a vampire or something totally different?"

He moved slowly to the main area of the inn and sat down, What the hell is happening to me?

Becca/Kail/Tenesa

Hurdles in this quest thing, huh? Becca thought. No fucking kidding….

Her jaw tightened at the unspoken words, as they passed through Vakare’s gates. Dirty children in rags chased each other amongst the slums, their bare feet pattering on the broken cobbles as they darted around her. A wave of strong, youthful life force washed over her, and when she turned back to see where this strange sensation came from, she saw a mob of bright blue and green coronas that followed the children.

“The hell?” she muttered.

Her eyes blinked at what she saw. Suddenly, the coronas were gone but the sense of the children’s life forces still lingered. Becca looked back as Kail ushered her into the more vibrant, colorful merchant’s quarter. She felt the ebb and flow of life around her more intensely here than she had in the forest. Even more than that, she felt the weight of this little, impoverished community. She wanted to go back, to see if there was anything she could do, but the urgency of their mission carried them forward.

Kail wove a lazy path in and out of the denizens of Vakare, and Becca tried to keep up as she quietly took in her strange, colorful surroundings. She was grateful that few people noticed her and she tried not to draw anymore attention than necessary.

For a moment, Becca nearly lost Kail in the crowd and she made her way through the crush of people to find his gentle blue light hovering at the door of a brightly colored shop. The sign above read Tenesa’s Trade and Goods in flowing script.

This must be his sister’s Becca thought as Kail led her inside.

For a moment, she looked at all the dried goods, gear for travel and the like. One of the strange trinkets caught her eye; she reached out to touch it when she heard Kail’s voice:

"Becca, this is my sister, Tenesa," he turned to Tenesa, "Tenesa, this is Becca, my charge,"

He floated closer to Becca.

"You may tell Tenesa where you are really from, she knows of our quest,"

The dryad looked up and saw the bright pink wisp twirling in front of her and smiled slightly. Her first impulse was to offer her hand but she thought better of it.

“Nice to meet you, Tenesa….”

"You'll have to excuse Kail, he sometimes forgets the little things," she hovered closer to Becca, "It is supplies that you need? What food do you eat? We'll start from there, shall we?"

“Uh… supplies. Yeah.” Becca said, as she looked around the little shop. “Basic outdoors stuff, I guess… I don’t know anything about the food here, but I’m not picky. Let’s stick with what’s dried and preserved.”

“Very good, Becca,” Tenesa said as glowed rosy and bright with enthusiasm. “It’s a long way from here to Vale City.”

Becca followed the pink wisp around the shop and Tenesa helped her pick out some basic gear for traveling, and enough food to last her to Vale city. She looked around one last time as she set a leather tarp, flint and steel, some rope, a good knife and a flask of alcohol on the counter with the rest of her items.

“I need some cloth.” She said. “Needles, thread, and cord…”

Tenesa bobbed, somewhat confused

“Where did you say you were from, dear?” she said as she led Becca over to the sewing supplies. “Do your people… sew?”

“I don’t sew. Definitely not. This is in case I get hurt.” Becca smiled slightly. “I’m from a large city called New York… ”

“Is this New York a nice place?”

“It had its moments….”

There was silence for a moment, as Becca arranged as much a she could into a pack. She didn’t feel like talking about home. It was something of a sore subject. Tenesa floated in the air and pulsed a cheerful, rosy red, despite the dryad’s coolness about her homeland.

“You’re going to help save the Vale then?”

Becca looked up at Tenesa.

“I want to know what this Spirit has to say first. I want to know what I’m getting into here.”

“My brother has no doubt told you that the Spirit is wise.” Tenesa said. “She’ll be able to better help you understand what your purpose is.”

The pink wisp twirled cheerfully next to her brother.

“You’re both welcomed to stay with me for the night. You can start out fresh in the morning for your journey.”

“Thanks, Tenesa. It looks like we have everything we need.” Becca smiled. “I appreciate it. What do you think, Kail? You want to stay the night?"

It was one of the most enjoyable times michael had ever had. The beer was better then any at home and soon he found himself drunk, laughing, exchanging fight stories with the dwarves, teaching them old Irish drinking songs and jigs. When he finally collapsed into his bed and slept, it was one of the best sleeps he had ever had. He awoke the next morning and saw clothes and gold and Sila in his room. "Top o' the marnin' lass" he said wiping the sleep from his eyes. "The dwarves put an ceile at home to shame." he said sitting upright in his bed. "Do ya think you could turn around so i could put clothes on lass?"

To Neferin

While Rolyn didn't leave a trail that an ordinary tracker could find, Eeth was no ordinary tracker; he was a Navajo tracker in an elvish body. Eeth managed to find Rolyn's trail, as well as the trails of several other elves, and he followed it until he caught up to Rolyn. He hoped that Van managed to follow him, but he wasn't concerned. Van could find his way to Neferin, and if need be, the elves could find him.

"So, Rolyn, how much do you and/or the queen know about me?" asked Eeth. He wanted to know this so he didn't end up repeating stuff that they already knew, and to find out if it was worth the effort to keep some things secret, such as him being a Guardian and all.

Than and Varic

"What sort of animals do you have? And what is this 'science' you speak of?" Most all of what he knew was magic and he was curious to see what kind of animals they had. If they were any different from the Vale's.

Animals Than thought as his mind drifted to a more innocent time, he was much younger working his grandpa’s farm, of the years training and showing horses, of the animal cemetery he had set up on the back barn corner where it wouldn’t be disturbed, everything from rats to chipmunks if he found it dead he put it there, even made markers.

“We had many different types of animals, mammals, fowl, retile, and fish. Both domesticated and wild.” Than thought for a moment then continued “we kept animals as pets, dogs and cats mostly, some folks still have horses. Cows are mostly used for food, as well as the dairy products they provide, milk, cheese and such. There are still areas that have deer, elk and moose still running around.” Than rubbed his stomach saying “ Deer, now there is some good meat, and beef, shhiit, nothing like a good hunk of steak slowly broiling over some hot coals.” Than drew his forearm across his lips as if wiping something off. “Sorry, let me get back to where we were. Like I said cats for the most part were domesticated, with the exception of the big cats, and let me tell you what, the lion, known as the king of the jungle, magnificent, he is my favorite of all cats, of course a close second would have to be the tiger, but there were many different types, cougars, jaguars, leopards, a leopard looks like this.” Than shot out his arm forgetting his tats were gone. “Sorry, I forgot, I used to have a picture there of one.” Than started thinking of his dogs, a chow he named Mulan, after a Chinese heroin, and Kuma, Japanese for bear, for that is what the big malamute looked like as a pup. “Dog, man had also domesticated, in older times they were used for work, hunting and fighting, now, not so much work, mostly show, and some breeds still hunt and definitely for protection, make good guards. I myself prefer a more wolfen type breed, never did find no use in the small ones just tended to get under foot. There were birds a many all different kinds, but the hawks and eagles, I could watch for hour on end, playing in the air stream. Fish, you better believe it boy, loved the fish’s. And reptiles as well, didn’t mint the lizards, but the snakes now that’s another ball o’ wax, to me the only good snake were a dead one.”

Than didn’t know how far they had walked before he realized once again he was rambling on “Varic, my apologies, seems I was just going on and on and didn’t allow you to get a word in edgewise. Ya know I should probably know what kind of animals I should expect to see here as well. I would sure hate to get surprised by a ‘one eyed, one horn, blind purple people eater’” Than sort of sang that last part.

Than then realized he had used and was thinking in the past tense as he talked of where he was from.

Could be a sign that this is a permanent thing, and as far as I’m concerned that’s fine with me right about now.

A loin cloth and a Tailor

Dinnie looked down at the loin cloth, he smiled. He put on the loin cloth, it was hideous. He stood up to his full height, he ran a hand over his face it was his face but felt totally strange. His hair felt smooth, he looked down at the imp and said, "Ok Goreab I will trust you as I need to find answers."

Dinnie began to walk away, then he stopped, "Oh, and where shall we go? I need clothes and I am starting to feel hungry." Dinnie looked up to the moon in the sky, and not for the first time wondered what was going on. He would play this game till he knew but now he needed a good tailor. ". . .I want to be dressed as sharp as a blade like Dracula." He laughed loudly.
