Illusion Vale (OOC)

Tears:

I don't mind. The only thing that could probably make this a faster thread is the amount of people rping. I myself most of the time can only make it on once a day. So if you're interested, post up a bio and we'll take it from there.

Milkman:
Your character is great, but I wonder if you can change his history. You see, the premise of this thread is that you come from the Real World (modern day) and are magically transformed into a fantasy creature... you have no idea of your abilities, strength, weaknesses etc and a sprite (me) helps you get adjusted to the world. The main plot line is either saving Illusion Vale or destroying it. (or ruling it; whatever)

Renegade:
Thanks for the words about the map... I'm sure Angelus is all glowy now.

Anyway, about the map. There are a few pointers I need to post up.

First of all. Illusion Vale is a VERY large place. From the Narin Range to Vale city would take a minimum of 4 weeks, but only if you killed all your horses trying to get there and didn't run into any sort of trouble.

There are four major trading city centres. Vale city is the capital (where The Spririt resides) of Illusion Vale. Abark, Vakare, South Haven are large city centres. Nariel is the capitol of the Ethari Plains and home predominantly to centaurs and plains peoples. The Trinias mountains are home to the Dwarves predominantly and they have a huge underground city called Guarden Hall. The Suvin Forest next to the Suvin Lake is home to the great city of the Elves, Neferin. Beyond the Narin Range is the Forbidden Lands. People who travel across the Narin Range never come back. It is uncharted land and as its name suggest, forbidden to the peoples of Illusion Vale.

The Bottomless Sea is an endless sea that no-one has charted yet. Though there is a mysterious Isle called Grolak Isle. No-one knows exactly what goes on there.

Thats pretty much it, if you have questions, ask your sprites and I'm sure they'll know the answer.

Well, I'll see about starting the thread soon.

Cool :D

Are we going to be dropped any place on the map when we're brought over, or will we be dropped near each other?

And speaking of maps, the one Angelus did for the world is fantastic!

Another question: when do the transformations from human to whatever take place? Do they take place en route, when, or after we get there?

EHawkins:
You will be placed in random points around Illusion Vale. I will PM you before hand so you can describe it in your first post.

blaster8:
The change will happen en route but you will be unconscious as it happens. The first time you realize you are different is when you open your eyes and notice that things are vastly different from what you know.

As I posted before, its your choice if your first post is either in the Real World or Illusion Vale. Expect to see a sprite!

Alrighty--thanks :D

Thanks for the glowy feeling and the praise. I hate to blow my own trumpet but I enjoyed making the map, especially for this thread.

I cannot wait for this thread to start as I have a different idea for my character now. I decided to change one thing for my elf though, seeming as he is a moon elf he wouldn't have tanned skin? His skin color is now slightly whitish. (well duh)

The only other thing I can say is.... bring on the thread!

I second that :D

LOL, I remember alot of that when I was at school. I'll wait for your reply and I hope you'll consider joining. Either way, I hope you enjoy.

I just sent you a PM to clarify a few things. Do you want me to post next, or are you going to post again?

This sounds brilliant

If your still taking characters I will have one ready for you In a few hours?

hmmmm a lot to think about.

Name: Danae
Gender: female
Race: Selkie (Harbour seal in the water, woman on land)
Height: 5'4"
Physical Description: As a human Dana is small, rounded, with long silver hair and dark black on black eyes. She has a small amount of webbing between her fingers and toes, and her nails are much thicker than a humans. Clawlike, in fact, but not obnoxiously so. As a seal she is grey with black spots, with large black on black eyes and can swim in rivers, lakes and the ocean.

Allignment NG

History: Danae was training to be an Olympic swimmer when she was in a car accident that paralyzed her from the waist down. She still swims, but then worked as an editor on a children's magazine. Being in the Vale gives her not only the use of her legs again, but gives her extraordinary swimming ablities in her selkie shape.

Name: Dinnie Briggs aka - Dark Thorne
Gender: Male
Race: Vampire
Height: 6`2"
Physical Description: Tall, Dark, classic vampire, Skin is white and when he is very angry his features change and his fangs and nails grow. Dinnie is very confused and his alignment is very shady as he come to terms with himself and the strange land.

As a vampire he is unable to walk during the day. So in daylight he changes to a large white wolf. The wolf is feral and untamed, and has its own mind.

Allignment - Unsure

History: Dinnie Briggs was a police officer in the city of London. He moved up through the ranks and became a sergeant in the armed response unit.

For three years he worked on some of the highest profile cases in British history. Not all ending without blood shed.

On the final occasion before Dinnie was dishonorably kicked from the force he was part of the team dealing with a deranged husband. When the team finally gained entry to the house they found the children and wife skinned alive. Dinnie snapped, the look on the killers face was that of a madman, Dinnie knew the man would go to an asylum.

He pulled his combat knife clear and stabbed it straight through the mans heart.

Sitting at home with a gun to his head, he suddenly falls unconscious. . .

ooc Sorry if this is wrong or too long.

Aww damn! Just about any man would snap after that event! The only person who wouldn't would probably be Hannibal Lector. He would probably think that dinner was served. That's nasty.

Anyways, on another note, should be interesting to see where the character's go in Illusion Vale.

Sucidal cops... Burned out paramedics on the verge of nervous break-downs...

Hope Dinnie makes it in :p

Yeah...the Spirit really knows how to pick 'em. Not only do we have a sucidal cop and a burned out paramedic, we have a hit-man for the Irish Mofia and a super-theif. My character is probably the only one who isn't insane (although he might lose it while in the Vale) and hasn't broken any laws.

I have never RP'd was wonder if I could join?

Human
Name: Walter Jones

Human Occupation: retired Navy/handyman

Physical Description:
6'1" once muscular and fit, his steady diet of beer and rum has taken it's toll.

Human History:
Medically discharged from the Navy after 17 years spending most of that time over seas in Asia, as well as, places like the Persian Gulf, Somalia and a few he’s not able to mention. Divorced once and second wife passed away. Hasn’t seen his kids since they were infants, second wife’s kids resented him for taking their mother from Japan. With her dead his only companions are his dogs and the ever present bottle.

Vale

Name: Than

Race: Giant

Physical Description: 9’1” muscular build, long brown hair, just past the shoulders,

Alignment: Neutral, leaning toward good.

not sure if this is what your looking for.

Oh yeah--forgot about those two :D

Your guy is the only one that hasn't freaked out yet, but it's hard to say what the others will do. I'm sure Becca will only be crazy temporarily...maybe. She hasn't seen what she looks like yet :p

Nor has my character. He's only seen the pants on his legs and his surroundings. Not much else. As far as he knows (at this point) he's still one of the Navajo people. The person who would freak out the most is the Irish hitman. He's become a flipping werewolf!

Now, just to wait for Wolfsister to get online and continue.

Hey, Ehawkins, just what is your character? I mean, what is a "dryad?" And what is my spirte? I don't know what a "Neko" is. I can only guess that it is some form of a cat.
