Illusion Vale (OOC)

Same. I am trying to figure out how I am going to do that myself but I'm going to see if I can ask Wolfsister very nicely. She will probably help me. If not I am going to go out of my mind.

It's very good to have an extra set of eyes. My husband and a friend of mine were my readers, because I swear to you, I go cross-eyed after I look at the MS too long! :D

Plus I'm not perfect--I'm bound to miss something that they'd pick up on.

I know what you mean. I gave it to her for a first read over and Wolfsister just looked at me, not saying a word but I could just see in her eyes that some things had to be changed.

My husband is very frank when it come to helping edit. He doesn't hold back :D

The life of a seven hundred and something year old vampire.

That about sums it up.

Apart from the fact that he's good. (well, most of the time)

Cool :D

I find good vampires interesting because it leaves a lot of room for both internal and external struggle :D

I hope so.

I just sat down one day with a little notebook and started writing the beginning paragraph to it. The next thing I know here I am.

Yeah, having an evil vampire who just goes around killing things can get a little boring after a while and I don't think anybody would want to read it.

There is only one problem I have with it though. I originally conceived it as a trilogy but now I'm not so sure.

What's your novella about? That story I mean.

It's about a princess who masquerades as a campfollower during a war between elves and humans in an effort to figure out who assassinated her father and win back her kingdom.

A Duology is just as good :D
But then, I'm not inclined to plan much of anything when I write. I just write until I feel like it's done. If I feel like a piece can't go on, then likely it won't :D

I know what you mean although I don't think I will be able to fit it all into a trilogy. I know that I could if I cut out some parts but the bad thing is at this point I don't want to do that.

I love the idea for your novella. It sounds like an extremely good read.

Well, I'd say at this point, don't worry about cutting anything. Just write it until you can't write anymore, and worry about cutting later. :D Just get it all out--see what it looks like at the end, and then decide :)

Aw, thanks! It has a little bit of everything: action, romance, adventure, sex, some intrigue... :D Much like yours, I just sat down and started writing one day until it was finished.

It is always a beautiful thing when you see that happen as well. When you look at the pages you have written, the MS sitting in front of you and say "Yes. I have done all that." with a smile on your face.

Oh yes, definately! I don't think I've ever felt more accomplished than when I finished the rough draft for my MS, (as weird as that sounds!) It's very satisfying :D

It doesn't sound weird at all. It is how I feel when I look at what I have done so far.

Hahah! No, I guess not :D
Now if I could just finish the other two that I have languishing on my hard drive, that would be fantastic :)

Two?

The only thing I can say to that is... wow.

Although there was one time when I used to have at least seven on mine so hmmmm

Seven?!

*blinks*

I'm the one that's wowed! :D did you finish any of them?

To be fair, I haven't touched Scar Tissue or Nisse in a very long time. I've been busy with other projects, and it would really help if my part time job would stop being a full time one

Evening all... :)

E, Angelus....I almost feel like I've been evesdropping on your conversation! But it's got me to thinking a lot. I can see much of my own writing habits in what you've been saying. I have several unfinished pieces that just sit there in their little folder and wait for me to pay attention to them. The only things I've actually finished were the ones I posted here at Lit, and those are just short twiddles. It kind of gave me heart that I'm not the only one who has unfiished business! Seeing you two talking about your writing has put a spark back in me, maybe I should go revisit my creations and see what can be done.

I did finish about four of them as they were short stories and novellas but then I told myself just to concentrate on my novel. I don't think I want to start anything else until I have finished that.

Coolio!!
You go to it, Dracona :D
To date, I've only finished one long piece, and I totally understand about Lit Postings--they're usually pretty short. I have a few shorts here too :)

If I can help to give any type of spark to your writing then I will try.

4 out of 7--not bad :D

Your novel is a worthy goal--the other stuff will be there when you're done;)
