I'm considering a change

I never read HisArpy's stories, nor of any other GBer. (Purposefully so, it would feel intrussive and weird). But I read many other stories, and I found many literary gems.

But I've always been fascinated: why do you guys keep posting on Lit. or other erotic sites?

I understand the choice for erotica - it assures readership, there's also a financial market for it (you can supplement your income by writing stories to those who email you).

But let's call a spade a spade.
Unlike us GBers who use this site for free, you guys are being exploited by such site owners. They make big bucks out of the increased traffic/advertisements etc. that you bring, while giving you peanuts.

Why is there no alternative model?

Exploited? Maybe.

But Literotica is unique as a site for erotica. An author gets far more attention here than on any other free site. That attention can be abusive and destructive, but at least you are noticed. Elsewhere? You might get no response at all or a single word such as 'great' or 'rubbish' which doesn't tell you much.

I NEED to write. Because I do, I want readers, I get them on Literotica and the exchange that Literotica pays for the site through my work is a reasonable exchange as far as I am concerned.

But one gets noticed or rated well because of two factors:
1. the business model that Literotica embraces, which ensures exposure and traffic. In this regard, Lit. owners are undisputable better and less exploitive.
2. one's talent too.

At the end of the day there are many parallels to Chinese sweatshops:
Chinese workers get paid below minimum wage, factory owners are billionaires.
Chinese workers would starve if not for factory owners,
one doesn't exclude the other.

My three most-viewed stories (well down on some authors) total more than 1 million views. I can't get anywhere near that number or even a tenth of it on another site.

You try so hard to make yourself look important. It's a shame when you consider if you used half that energy to actually DO anything else instead of trying to do the one thing you CAN'T do, you might actually succeed at something.

You came here preteneding to be an author.

In fairness, Harpy has stories posted to Literotica, so Harpy (in contrast to a whole lot of others posting to this board) is a Literotica author.

I bet I've made more panties drop through PM than he has and his stories.

If receiving positive feedback is used as a the main purpose of writing, don't bother publishing anything.

If receiving positive feedback is used as the main purpose of engaging in the various forms of social media, beat your electronic device to death with a blunt object.

Tune in, turn on, and drop out. That has a whole new meaning now for people who are brainwashed by the feedback mechanisms built into the virtual world.

The real world is so much more interesting and engaging. Go outside and brave the elements.

TRUTH. Couldn't have said it better.

I'm here to have adult-centric fun, not for an ego boost due to a lack of a social life in reality. That's where all of you dip-in-and-dip-out schmuck busters stay getting it wrong. :D

We'll never know if you were being genuine here, because no one gives a fuck enough to care. And you cultivated that attitude, my guy.

Here's to your question remaining unanswered in three pages and your useless thread going tits up in the junk because all you actually wanted to happen here was people making static with you on the GB so you'd have an excuse to engage them in the absence of the political acrimony you used to enjoy.

If I knew how to rate a story, or if I gave a fuck about how to rate a story enough to find out how, I would rate your stories lower than whale shit.

Posts have consequences. If you are a douchebag on the Lit boards and post stories under the same name, shit happens.

I'm going to give all his stories a shitty rating. :)

He has stories here? I didn't know Lit had a "Detumescent" category.

So one time, there was this ambulance, and I chased it.

ASSTR was one of my go-tos back when I was still a connoisseur of erotic literature. Some of that shit was too freaky for me.
