I realized at some point last night that I'd written hot garbage, so I restructured my outline and changed the tone. It's reading better now, but that means I'm no longer finished with my Medusa x blind female lover short story. I'm back where I started.

That's rough, but at least it'll be better for it and you'll be happier with the final product!

It sucks when you go back and read something and it doesn't hit the way you thought it did. But you aren't back where you started. You found something that wasn't working and you adjusted for it. That's progress, even if it feels like a step backward right now.

I know. Gotta kill your darlings sometimes. I pulled an all-nighter, got in a 2 hour nap today, and managed to get a couple thousand words finished. It's already much, much better.

That's a lovely perspective. I will try to adjust and see it that way.

I can't claim credit for the Medusa x blind lover pairing. It was a trope buzzing around on Tumblr about 10 years ago or so, and I pocketed the idea and told myself I'd try my hand at it someday. It is now someday, lol.

Update, going most of the night, up to 14.2k. At the end of part III realized I needed an extra short scene at the start of part IV. Got all of that done. Did a bunch of edits too. It's reading quite well, very happy. 16 of 19 scenes complete. I think I'm gonna continue. I feel pretty good, but I need a break. Maybe go for a walk (the weather is nice for the first time in ages) and maybe make some breaky.

I've put WIP 3 on the shelf with WIP 1 and WIP 2 for the moths to enjoy, while I study the arcane art of writing, as practised by better writers. No flowers by request.
