Sophia was by herself for a few minutes, alone with the clothes and the mirrors, before Faye appeared. The kindly lady smelt slightly of a fresh waft of perfume now and she quietly busied herself with dismantling Sophia's hair.
"Green was a good choice," she said and smiled at Sophia in the mirror.

After a few minutes more she asked simply, "How did it go?"

- Thanks. In fact I love green and I regretted my choice when I heard form you. A professional advice sounds good to listen to. I'm happy you agree now.

Sophia thought about the second question for a moment.

- It was strange. At the same time it was a dream come true, I was like a princess at the center of the world, feeling so good and everything. And besodes it felt strange, I was not sure I was myself, and now I have to get back to reality... I want to thank you for everytthing.

Faye tipped her head and paused with one hand in Sophia's hair, a maternal smile in the mirror.
"Aw honey, that's so sweet." she put her other hand over her heart.
"I'm so pleased for you, you should keep that memory with you. I've heard others say they become someone else, it's more like acting than you realise. Some people can leave it all behind and become themselves again, some people decide to keep more of that other person. Just you be true to yourself ok? Have some fun with it! But don't let them make you someone else."
Faye gave a little cross but playful frown and resumed combing Sophia's hair.

Sophia ended up in her skirt and top, simple clothing, for a simple life. She thanked Faye again before moving.
Still remembering the feelings from the session, she moved to Beth. She checked her watch on the way, wow it was time to go home.

- I was supposed ot meet you after the session...

Beth's heels came tapping across the floor, her silk-stockinged legs rubbing together in her tight red skirt, her matching red lips pouting.
She held out a small piece of paper, "Here you are dear, your retainer."

Then just as Sophia reached for it, she dropped the paper and it fluttered to the floor between them.
"Oh, so sorry." she said with sweet insincerity and made no move to pick the paper up.

"Mister Paris is outside with your cab." she gestured to the glass doors on the narrow.cobblestone lane and stood waiting.

Sophia smiled at beth and bent down to retrieve the paper, her eyes widening in astonishment at the amount. One hour here was far more interesting than a couple at her job, and this afternoon had thus been quite rewarding... She thanked the woman for everything, trying to be as polite a spossible, and then left outside, meeting Tom again. She looked down.

- Well thank you Tom, this was... an amazing experience.

The cheque was written in stylistic italics to "Mademoiselle Sophia" and for four hundred pounds it was two weeks wages.
Tom stood by the car in his loafers, a beaded bracelet hung down from one hand where he held a cigarette, his other hand with his expensive watch tucked in his pocket. In his short sleeved flannel shirt Sophia could see a dragon tatoo lazily stretched down his tannrd arm.

"I took a quick glance at the shots, there are some really good ones. I will call you on Monday so we can arrange for you to come take look. I'm so glad you came today."

He smiled a wrinkled grin and leant over to kiss Sophia's cheek.

- oh hrm, yes, OK... thanks... but you know, it will be really hard for me to find some time to come. As I said...

her voice faded and she handed the cheque...

- yoou're sure it's the right amount, Tom? Just for pictures?

Tom took a drag from his cigarette and looked casually at the paper. He shrugged nonchalantly, "Looks fine to me, I trust Beth, she handles this stuff. You made a real impression on her."

He winked and stretched. "That's yours, you earned it whatever happens. That's an advance for.any pictures we sell, if it takes us a week or a year. We might end up sending you another cheque but we can't ask for that back."
He shrugged again and looked wistfully at the cab. Then.he looked back, casually looking up Sophia's legs.
"So... Can you get a babysitter?"

Sophia blushed again as she felt his gaze moving along her. She looked sideways and down.

"So... Can you get a babysitter?"

She looked at the cheque. She reminded herself of the wonderful moment she had spent there. And everything...

- I think I could hire one of those days with these. Thanks Tom.

Another smile...

He beamed then, a delighted smile without any reservation. He threw away his cigarette and hugged Sophia like a bear. He lifted her and whirled her around, chuckling with glee.
She found herself placed in the back of the car next to a neatly wrapped brown parcel.

Tom leaned in at the door, "This is going to be great!" he enthused with a wink and shut the door. He watched the car pull away with an energised gleam in his eye.

Sophia was surprised by that hugging. She coulnd't say a word before finding herself seated at the back of the car. She mouthed a goodbye through the closed window and there she was on her way home.

Life seemd tasteless after that. Of course she still loved her family and appreciate their company. but the dream had gone. There was a sense of Cindarella in this, returning to a boring life after the bal. What she wanted the less was returning to her job.
But morning came, and soon she was in her waitres suniform and back at that place with the yelling manager.

The brown parcel in the cab had been a set of green lace lingerie, a good size for Sophia. A label attached said "To my new princess, love Faye x".

The Monday after past slowly with what would have been typical drabness that was only made more drab by proximity to that week end. There were no phonecalls that Sophia wanted to hear either.
There was momentary excitement when she came home and found a textured envelope addressed to her. It contained a copy of her contract and a statement showing the amount Shr had been paid. There was nothing new, and nothing likely to change the next day or the days after.

Sophia kept the new piece of lingerie closely in a drawer, not wanting to waste this most delicate stuff on a normal boring day. it seemed to be almost shining, remebering her of her princess' afternoon ; like Cindarealla's shoe.

She was often sighing. She seemed more distant to people around her. She tried to do her best but her menager was more and more yelling at her for not being 100% dedicated. She almost answered to him once with very harsh words but she stepped back before opening her mouth, she needed this job too much.

She was waiting for one thing only... returning to this world of dream and passion and luxury and delight.

It was Wednesday when he strode into the café with that same gleam in his eye. He wore a black jacket with white chinos, a thick silver chain and red basketball boots, a millionaire trying to look like he had street cred.
Tom sat at a table without saying anything, no cameras this time, he didn't touch the menu, he had eyes only for Sophia.

Sophia froze when she saw Tom enter the place. She was holding two plates of pie that she was delivering to a table nearby and she stood with them, shakng a bit. She gave him a smile before going to put the plates.
She went to Tom's table, elaned a bit with her braod smile, seemingly happy to see him.

- Hello Tom, welcome. What may I serve you?

"Sit down." he asked her smoothly, sounding full of confidence and brimming with a glee that he could hardly contain.
"Trust me, just sit. I don't want you to serve anyone." he fixed her with his glassy eyes, but she noticed he bit his lip a little, he was nervous.
All he carried was a flat black leather folder and he fiddled with it on the table.

- I'm sorry but I can't...

She lookes backwards towards the kitchen.

- If he sees me seated, I'm fired: And you know I need the job. I can't sit. i can't even spend too much time just talking. All he speaks about is....

- SOPHIA!!!

The scream came from a low toned visibly-alcoholed voice from the kitchen. The manager again.

- you see, she said to Tom. I can't loose time if I wanna keep the job.

Tom reached and took her hand. There was a flash of anger in his eyes but it became earnest pleading.
"I asked you to trust me. Fuck the job, fuck that idiot. Sit down and look at these!"

He let go off her hand when he was sure she wouldn't run, then he spun the black folder around, opened it and pushed it across the table.

The A4 print was dark and glossy. In the centre light illuminated a beautiful woman like an angel, her eyes sultry and moody, a deeply sexual look that matched her half-parted lips. The green tints of eye shadow complimented her dress and hanging gold ear rings perfectly. Her hair was lit like fire and she shone amongst the deep darkness.

In the corner of the print was a logo that Sophia thought she recognised.

Sophia sat down, but on the edge of the bench, like someone ready to stand up quickly if needed. She looked at the printed pictures... and gasped.
- What... Is that?... I don't understand... Is it really?...

She was looking into Tom's eyes... the picture again, then him...

The tall fat and filthy boss came out of the kitchen.

- Sophia, he growled. I warned you already. You don't have to loose time like this. If oyu wanna keep the job, little girl, you have to work.

Tom relaxed as Sophia sat down, he held his hand upwards on the table and let her lay her hand it in. He gave a little squeeze to share his confidence and his eyes held Sophia's with a lazy, decadent look.

Tom's other hand tapped the logo. "They want the lady in this print. Do you know where she is?"
His smile was thin and aloof, almost regal. "This is your time, you don't get to do this often.in life. Turn around and tell that pig to screw himself. Then take my hand and never look back again."
His hands covered hers gently and he leant close, looking straight into her eyes and mouthed, "Go. Screw. Yourself."

This was all completely crazy for her. Sophia's head was running wild. She closed her eyes, feeling Tom's hand, his assurance, his confidence. TUrning and twisting it all in her head.
Sophia stood up and looked strsight in the boss' eyes, and she yelled.

- You fucking dirty pig son of a bitch, you're just a dirty bastard and you don't deserve to have me working for you. No one should be treated like you treat your employees. No one likes you, you're just a fucking pig trampling in shit and mud with stars shining at your sides without even appreciating that. You will never tell me what to do anymore, I?m done with this shit and I'm gonna tell your clients in which way you prepare your meals, you're done stupid.

Saying all this without even taking her breath, she had undone her apron and lauched it at his feet, then she slapped him in the face and walked towards the door, her heart neating faster than she thought it possible. Some customers applauded, some laughed. No one moved when she slammed the door opened and took a deep breath of fresh air outside, suddenly realizing what she had done. She felt dizzy and saw the world begin to spin before her eyes... A solid arm caught her and helped her.

Tom's laughter froze in his throat as Sophia suddenly exploded with all that pent up feeling. He had seen the power in her along with the beauty, and he had wanted to provoke her deep fires, her deepest desires, but this was much more, she was much tougher than he had expected.

He took a step back to let her have the space she needed, where he had expected to step forward and defend her. And he followed her as she blew out of her old life on the wings of a storm, and he held her when it became too much.
Still laughing silently, he hailed a cab to take them away.

It was only after miutes in the cab that Sophia found her breath back and that she began to grasp it all. She turned to face him.

- jessus, Tom, what have I done? I ... I hope you were not making fun of me. If this is all but a bad joke, I just fucked up my whole life and that of my family.

Tom had his arms around her shoulders and he clutched his folder in the other hand. Periodically his shoulders shook as he surpressed a laugh.
He looked at her in a new way now. Perhaps despite himself he had treated her more like a girl than a woman, now he had new respect.

"I wouldn't joke about something so serious, I tell the truth about what I see, what is in my lens. And you... That was a brave thing you did."

He put a finger on her chin and leant close so she could smell the mint on his breath.
"You are fearsome. I wouldn't dare cross you!" he smiled gently.
