Ironic Demons (closed)

Olivia continued to struggle to get through the pain. The size of his cock combined with how hard he was fucking her would’ve made it difficult to handle but the fact that Rune hadn’t used any kind of lubrication or preparation had made it much more painful. She knew that for a couple days she would be reminded of this whenever she sat down.

Despite the pain and tears, there was still a part of her that was enjoying this quite a bit. She had never found anyone else who would be as rough with her as she liked except for Rune. True, the seemingly total disregard for her comfort he had displayed when they first got together had lessened towards the end of their relationship but even then he had still been rougher than anyone else. She knew she could count on him to push her limits and while she had worried about things going too far at first she had grown to trust him absolutely to know how far to push and when to stop.

Still...things were different now. She had broken his heart and at the very least he no longer loved her. There was a good chance he was angry with her and even hated her. She had still trusted him enough to get to this point but there was that small fear starting that maybe he would go too far. That fear had been there before and had been a big turn on but it had always been a kind of make-believe fear.

She wasn’t quite at the point where she needed to ask him to stop, though. She knew that later she would be hating herself for letting this happen because now he would be the only thing on her mind and no one would be able to compare. She focused on how much she had missed his cock and the way it felt slamming into her. Rune had always been amazing when it came to sex and the fact that his cock was perfect just made it all the better. Olivia felt Rune finally pull his cock all the way out and she spent a few moments bracing herself in case he was about to slam himself all the way back inside her.

"Shut up and come here.”

He didn’t give her a chance to do anything before pulling one of her legs out from under her and rolling her onto her back. She wasn’t 100% sure she could’ve moved right that second though so she didn’t mind. He crawled on top of her, biting one of her nipples as he did but after the pain, he’d just put her through it barely registered for her. His mouth moved to her neck and within seconds she was moaning and writhing beneath him as he licked and sucked at the sensitive skin there. She purred softly in his ear, telling him how good it felt. One of her hands moved to the back of his head and she ran her fingers through his hair as he kissed her neck.

"Now you are reminded of what you can expect if you don't do as I say."

“Mmm, that reminder is going to last a long time. Now that it’s out of the way though maybe you can focus on fucking my pussy until you cum…”

As he devoured part of her neck... Tasting and kissing and biting it, Olivia began to run her soft fingers through his long hair. The sensation tingled and ran through his neck and down his body. Rune enjoyed the sounds she made as he worked her weak spot over as only he could. With a hunger but light enough for it to border on gentle.

"Mmm, that reminder is going to last a long time. Now that it’s out of the way though maybe you can focus on fucking my pussy until you cum…”

He wasted no time...affixing the large swollen head of his still pulsating cock against the entryway to her sex. His tip parting Olivia's sensitive and engorged lips. There was still some remnants of red caught in the crevices of his cock's veins and ridges. As he pinned her body under his he slowly guided the head inside her. Impatient, he pushed further, her walls opening up to him as his head separated the path for Rune's thick long shaft. His muscles stiffened, the sheer heaven of her velvet inner mouth squeezing and sucking his dick could not be ignored. He managed a moan and tried to tell her he was going to coat her insides with his cum but all that came out were pleasured grunts and a few fucks.

In parts Rune ignored... He was home. Inside this exquisite creature, he was content. He longed for this closeness as much as he longed for her belly to grow with his child. But he'd never tell her these things. No. Olivia fled from love. Fled from happiness like it meant to cage her and would never let her see the sun again.

He started thrusting, as he simultaneously wrenched his mouth from her neck. Several hickeys and bite marks evidence that would take some time to vanish were left behind in his wake. His dick made her cunt feel almost virginial... Which it was far from. Granted Olivia's ass was tighter but her pussy was still very very tight itself. It gripped his dick well and he rewarded its every contraction on every stroke with a nice hard plunge each time reaching deeper and deeper inside what was at this very moment his property. He fucked her as hard as he could muster, wanting to see his cock come ripping through her and out her mouth. He pounded and pounded and thought of every man before him that he needed to surpass. Most of it was for his benefit. If he wanted her to cum yet he'd of been working her clit at the same time.

Rune rose, getting on his knees... his dick still not fully removed from her. He grabbed her ankles and made a wish, parting them... her feet nearly over his head and far far apart.

He looked down at the slut...her face full of lust and obviously desperate for more of his manhood. He spit on her, aiming for her face but falling short and hitting her large breasts.

"You ARE mine," he began "Despite all the filthy cocks you've let inside you, this disgustingly desperate cum hole of a cunt is STILL mine. Isn't it?"

He didn’t need any more urging from her and she moaned softly as his cock began sliding inside her pussy. His cock felt amazing as it moved deeper inside her, stretching the walls of her cunt. He did have a great cock but she knew that alone wasn’t what made it feel so amazing, so much better than every other guy she had been with. It was the connection they had, that they’d seemed to have from the first time they met. Despite everything that had happened between them the connection was still there, at least for her. A part of her relished it even as the rest of her was terrified of it. She let herself sink into the blissful perfection that was Rune fucking her refusing to ruin this moment by overthinking things.

He began fucking her harder, driving his cock deeper into her with each thrust. She started moaning louder as she moved her hips in time with his thrusts. Her hands moved to grip his arms, enjoying the feel of them as he drove himself into her. She could tell he was enjoying this as much as she was and that made her very happy. No matter how much she feigned indifference she still cared very much what he thought of her...sexually and otherwise.

Rune moved to his knees and she watched as he gripped her ankles and spread her legs farther apart than she would’ve thought possible. It wasn’t entirely comfortable but it seemed to allow him to fuck her deeper and there was nothing she enjoyed more. She could feel the head of his dick hitting her cervix and her moans became more frantic. Rune gave no warning before spitting on her and she looked down to see it running down the side of her breast.

"You ARE mine, despite all the filthy cocks you've let inside you, this disgustingly desperate cum hole of a cunt is STILL mine. Isn't it?"

She still found it slightly unbelievable that he always knew exactly what to say and do to drive her insane with lust.

“Yes, all of me is still yours. No one will ever be able to do the things to me or make me feel the things that you do.”

"Yes, all of me is still yours. No one will ever be able to do the things to me or make me feel the things that you do.”

It was of course exactly what he wanted to hear. Yet paradoxically because of that a part of him twinged with disbelief. Olivia would tell him nearly anything he wanted to hear when lost in an ocean of carnal lust. He asked himself why it mattered. Why was pillow talk so much more with her. Why was he so unlike himself? Why the insecurity. It seemed obvious and yet altogether not.

As he wondered he continued to hold her legs apart by her ankles...causing the tension in her thighs to build as he continuously sawed into her. Thrusting forward on his knees he bottomed out within her cunt. His big fat cock violating the soft folds of her pussy and filling her up completely.

Soon Rune let her legs go, leaning forward to rest on his hands as he fucked her. It was odd... Just a little while ago they were in a bar discussing the good times... Awhile before that they where at a church mourning a good friend... Weeks ago he was certain he'd never see her again.

And now here she was moaning on his cock.

He alternated speed. He wanted to prolong this but her cunt felt too good. After several moments of driving his manhood as far inside her as he could, cursing and calling her degrading names as he did... He lifted himself again to rest a hand atop her abdomen... He slid it down and placed his thumb between her soaking wet slit. A moment after it disappeared he found her clit and began to move his thumb in little firm circles.

Olivia always enjoyed how dirty he talked to her, and he always knew what to say to push her buttons. He wanted to cum but she would need to cum first. It was a personal rule Rune never broke. Call it ego, call it getting the job done, call it narcissism, it was what it was. He played with her swollen clitoris while slamming his enormous dick inside her.

Then he started to push her towards the edge...

"Yknow....it's a shame your not with anyone right now...I really would like to call them right now. Put you on the phone with them...watch you try and have a polite fucking conversation while I reamed their little slut of a girlfriend out."

He watched her reaction and continued...going for figurative blood...

"Your still the biggest fucken slut I know...and I know a ton of dirty, cheap, cock desperate sluts. Does that make you happy you fucken bitch? Do you like being the dirtiest fucken whore I know?"

He furiously worked her, inside and out.

"Maybe I'll get some buddies over here...we'll take turns filling your fucken mouth with cum. I know you just dying for that aren't you, you stupid cum slut!"

He could feel his balls and erection starting to buzz as his mind was swimming. He was involuntarily beginning to ejaculate inside her.

Rune seemed satisfied with her response or at least satisfied enough that he didn’t stop slamming his length into her. She wasn’t sure if he fully believed her though she couldn’t blame him if he didn’t. Her feelings for him were mixed enough that she wasn’t even entirely she meant them, at least not totally. She was still wary of the path they seemed to be hurtling down at an alarming pace. As much as she enjoyed sex with him and while she still had a deep connection with him she thought their relationship might be one of those things better left alone. There seemed to be too much between them for this to have anything but an unpleasant ending. Rune was like a drug to her though and she was pretty sure they had passed the point of no return.

Her legs were beginning to feel the strain of being held so far apart but her pleasure kept it from being overly noticeable. She was wet enough that the pain she’d felt initially had subsided except for when he would bottom out. She enjoyed that pain though, very, very much. There hadn’t been many guys who had been able to bottom out regardless of what position they were in. Her pussy was still tight enough that she felt like she could feel every ridge and vein of his cock as he slid into her over and over again.

He finally let go of her legs and leaned forward. She wrapped her legs around his waist and continued to moan as she looked up at him. He hadn’t slowed down on his barrage of insults and names, each one pushing her depraved buttons.

He started to rub her clit and she knew it wouldn’t be long before she came. He continued to drive his cock into her and each stroke seemed to feel more amazing than the last. Regardless of whatever else was going on between them, the sex was always going to be the best she would ever have.

"Yknow....it's a shame your not with anyone right now...I really would like to call them right now. Put you on the phone with them...watch you try and have a polite fucking conversation while I reamed their little slut of a girlfriend out."

If it hadn’t been clear before his words made it obvious he was trying to make her cum.

"Maybe I'll get some buddies over here...we'll take turns filling your fucken mouth with cum. I know you just dying for that aren't you, you stupid cum slut!"

That thought pushed her over the edge and her legs tightened around his waist as she began to orgasm.

“Oh fuck, I would love that so much,” she cried as she came, her pussy spasming around his dick.

He pushed his hips against her hard. Driving them into her in an attempt to bury his erupting cock as far inside her... No... Further than any dick had been within her before. His loins pulsed as the head of his swollen manhood shot stream after stream of warm cum inside Olivia.

Rune dug his teeth into her soft neck as his orgasm continued. A large amount of his seed now deposited just against and outside her cervix. He thrusted several more times and the last thick rivets of semen filled her up. It was a large amount of cum but he wished it was more. Rune had fantasized many times about filling Olivia up again and he was disappointed his ejaculate wasn't shooting out of her, her body unable to contain it all, like some ridiculously exaggerated amount.

He could feel her own orgasm shaking her and squeezing her velvet walls tighter around his dick milking him. Her legs wrapped around his back driving him deeper inside and unwilling to let him loose even an inch of ground.

He collapsed on top her. Spent and panting. His words and curses finally at an end, along with his orgasm.

He managed to lift himself up on his arms, and placed a kiss on her neck, then on her tits and finally on her lips before climbing off and sitting back down beside her body on the couch.

A wave of doubt and regret and cold hard reality washed over him.. Even as his still hard erection glistened with her juices, he was gaining the dark hard part that had to make sense of everything concerning her.

The problem or at least one of them... was impermanence. Something only mattered to Rune when it was permanent. Since nothing is...nothing did. It wasn't to say he was a complete nihilist, however things had to last long enough for him to at least not have to worry about them being gone. He didn't seek the infinite, but avoided those things which were painfully temporary, while subsequently haunted by the fleeting-ness of everything. Other than his apt., he rented nothing. Only bought. He saw no value or beauty in anything that he could not own or keep. And death was his ultimate enemy. The ultimate expiration date. Complete and unavoidable. Even his career had been chosen in part due to the fact that he would be leaving something behind. A legacy... Something that would last beyond him. Rune desperately wanted children for that same reason. Well, that...and others. What existed between Rune and Olivia was the only constant relationship he had other than family. In truth even his parents and his brother meant little to him. Friends and family are over rated, at least that's how he felt about them. Wether because no one could get to him across all those burnt bridges or because they were all as self absorbed as he was, Rune didn't really keep too many people in his life. While Olivia and Rune hadn't spoken in ages theirs was the only connection he never got over loosing. It had caused him to shut down an enormous amount of himself. But this too would become ashes. As the relationship had before...so why value it? Why value anything?

Maybe this time would be different. Maybe he had found someone to spend time with till the end would come and take it all. Indeed he was the greatest fool, believing his own lies.

There was another problem, perhaps a more pressing one.

Rune was a very charismatic soul. He knew how to talk to people. The serpents tongue. But once someone was in love with him... He hadn't the slightest idea how to keep them. Granted it's all temporary. But he had no stamina outside of the bedroom. When she would come to him with expectations or hopes or desires that existed outside of a screaming orgasm how would he provide? It's not that he didn't envision or want a life with her. It's not that he would get bored with her, rather the opposite. That excitement... the level... the bar he had set for the initial relationship, It was far too high. He would never keep it up for long. And then she would see.... She would see the god is a mortal. She would see he was not special. And there would go his control. Cause this was all about control. Control MIGHT last. Love would not. It was all about control....

Rune stopped himself, unaware how long he had been thinking.

They fucked...just like old times. That's all. He realized he had his hand on her thigh and stood up and started to dress. Unable to say anything.

She came harder than she had in a very long time, the orgasm seeming to last forever. In those moments it was as if time stopped and everything else fell away except the two of them. She was vaguely aware that he was cumming along with her. She could feel his cum filling her pussy as his cock spasmed. That made her orgasm more delicious but it also started to stir feeling she kept shut off, at least since Rune. His teeth bit into her neck sending jolts of pain through her. He finally seemed to be drained and dropped down on her out of breath. Her own breathing was ragged and she relaxed back against the couch, trying to get her breathing and heartbeat back under control.

Unlike all the other times with other men, she didn’t feel the immediate need to leave as quickly as possible, she was...content. Rune propped himself up and placed soft kisses on her neck, breasts, and finally her lips. She felt a throb of disappointment go through her as he sat up. When they’d been together before one of her favorite things to do with him was make out. He would kiss her with so much passion and frenzy and emotion, like he was dying and kissing her was the only thing that would save him. She hadn’t realized how much she missed that or how painful it was to realize he didn’t kiss her like that anymore. That thought took her back to worries about what they were doing. It was already stirring up emotions that she would much rather avoid. The more time she spent with him the more her feelings for him came back to life. While it would be karmic justice for her to be mesmerizingly in love with him again only for him to feel nothing for her it would be her own horrifying personal hell.

Rune stood up abruptly and Olivia watched as he started getting dressed. She could instantly feel herself missing his touch, being close to him, like some pathetic lovesick teenager. It was as if she’d switched places and she was now one of the guys she used. She enjoyed feeling discarded and used but with Rune nothing made sense. While a part of her got some twisted pleasure from this another part of her found it agonizing.

She knew she should accept the dismissal gracefully, she deserved it but she couldn’t quite seem to push herself to follow through. For the first time in a long time, she felt uncomfortable being naked with someone. She started to reach for her dress before remembering it was in pieces scattered on the couch and floor. All she had left that was intact were her panties and shoes. She felt herself start to blush and that...pissed her off. She’d worked hard to make sure no one controlled her emotions except her. Rune might have been the exception to a lot of things but that just meant this was going to be a challenge and she was nothing if not stubborn. She sat up and started undoing the straps on her shoes. Once she’d slipped them off she smiled up at Rune.

“You never fail to disappoint, that was...very, very nice.”

“Do you want anything to drink? If you’re hungry we could order food, there’s a really good Chinese place a couple blocks away.”

She got up and headed to the kitchen for a glass of water hoping she seemed confident despite feeling the complete opposite.

“You owe me a new dress, by the way,” she said over her shoulder.

He agonized for what seemed like hours...

Staring at the books on the shelf. Their brand new and unblemished or furrowed spines shining with the light from the bookstore's ceiling. He placed his hand on his chin and wrinkled his forehead... The decision not coming to him.

He glanced about the sales floor which was fashioned to look more like a library when in actuality the last thing they wanted you to do here was sit down and read. Despite the inviting chairs and smell of the nearby indoor coffee shop.

An attractive employee with a spectacular figure sauntered by as she smiled at him. He returned it, more a force of habit than anything else.

"Excuse me..."

"Yes? How can I help you?," her smile returned and she approached.

Ignoring her flirtations he turned his attention to his dilemma once more and continued.

"I'm trying to find something for my sl-....that is...I'm trying to find a gift for my girlfriend. She's really into this one show and I don't know a thing about it. She reads a lot so I was wondering which of these books would interest a die hard fan?"

She masked her disappointment but even from Rune's peripherals it was obvious. It took her several feigned glances at the volumes before she randomly selected one and held it out for his inspection.

He looked at it...unimpressed. The title and cover alone seeming cheesy and uninteresting.

"Try this one."

He shook his head and began to return to his own selection as she put the book back.

"Can I ask you something?"

He raised a brow and looked at her.

"Do you read a lot yourself?"

He nodded "I'm mostly into Manga though... I prefer pictures." Rune instantly grimaced at how childish that statement sounded.

The clerk giggled and nodded.

"Y'know..." She began looking him in the eyes as a human and no longer a customer "the best gift I ever got from my boyfriend was something of his... Something he wanted to share with me. It wasn't new...but the fact that it meant something to him, meant something to me."

She spotted another customer in need of assistance.

"I hope she likes what you get her, let me know if you need anything else."

He watched her walk away and thought for a moment. He had already bought a dozen trinkets and gifts for Olivia and none of them seamed worthy of how he felt. He considered for a moment a graphic novel he was reading about a boy finding his true love. It was funny and entertaining and it always made him think of her.

Rune fled the bookstore and entered his car outside. He headed home.

Hoping he knew where that book was.

-----------------------–----------------------

The first thing he felt was an automatic response.

Rising up off her naked form and zoning out into oblivion.

He wanted to hold her, he wanted to kiss her, he wanted her warmth. In more than his arms in more than his body... in his life.

"You never fail to disappoint, that was...very, very nice.”

Towards the end of their break up and the few times after he had spoke to her, Olivia had a way of speaking that made him feel he was being overly sensitive. He didn't know if she simply enjoyed hurting him still or if she was truly unaware her words cut him at times but what mattered most was that it still mattered at all. Either way he ignored the compliment which bothered him for some unspoken reason.

"Do you want anything to drink? If you’re hungry we could order food, there’s a really good Chinese place a couple blocks away.”

Don't stay don't stay don't stay don't stay.

"Chinese sounds good."

FUCK!!!

Olivia's seemed completely comfortable with what just happened. Either that or he was not in the frame of mind to discern it. He personally felt like a wreck and kept his back to her in order to mask the fact. He had no idea what look he was wearing and so perused around the living room. Rune kept telling himself she was just another fuck now... He knew that was the furthest thing from the truth but paying the bill for sleeping with her was proving too costly. He cursed the hold she had on him. He wanted his control back. He missed when she was under thumb....when she was weak... When she loved him.

"You owe me a new dress, by the way,” she said holding a glass of water.

He smiled "I'll write you a check....it'll bounce of course but it's the thought that counts."

He stood up. Shirtless but dressed otherwise and glanced about the apartment. A bookshelf caught his eye.

Don't look.

It was years ago... Don't look.

Rune explored Olivia's place for the next few minutes before hearing her shower start. He turned his head back towards the shelf and as he passed it he searched. It wasn't there. He ignored the gigantic pang of misery and followed the sound of running water.

He entered her bathroom ignoring concepts like privacy, and personal space. The parts of him that still wanted her as his still very alive and enjoying the revitalization of having just injected her with millions of his sperm. Inside he found her behind the curtain already. He imagined her lathering up. Now sitting on the toilet seat, Rune no longer attempting stealth or obfuscation.

"It's a nice place... So how long you been here?"

And how many men have you had here he thought... bitterness wrapping around his mind like tendrils.

"I'll write you a check....it'll bounce of course but it's the thought that counts."

She murmured an “uh huh” and laughed, some of her embarrassment starting to disappear. She was very happy he’d agreed to order in instead of taking off though she tried to come off as casual about it. The last thing she wanted was for him to realize how much she cared and rebuff her. She watched Rune as he got up and looked around the living room. She kept waiting to catch a glimpse of his face so she could try and figure out his mood but he kept his back to her. She finished the water and put the glass in the sink before grabbing the Chinese restaurant’s menu off the fridge. She already knew what she wanted but she left it on the counter so he could look through it.

She couldn’t tell if Rune was actually fascinated by her stuff in the living room or if he was just acting like he was because he didn’t know what to say. She figured she might as well go take a shower though a part of her was worried he was going to flee the apartment as soon as she got in the shower. Her own mind was trying to focus on what the ramifications of what had just happened were going to be but she was resolutely ignoring the thoughts. She knew she couldn’t ignore them forever but damned if she wasn’t going to try.

She started the shower and once the water was warm she stepped in. She could feel the soreness starting in different places on her body, she was definitely going to feel it tomorrow. She typically liked that though, each painful throb reminding her of how she got it. Rune wasn’t just another meaningless fuck though and being reminded of how he’d just fucked her was bound to be a double-edged sword. She didn’t know if he was actually going to want to see her again after this and if he did, what kind of friendship he was going to want. If they did actually start spending time together she was sure that at some point their breakup was going to come up and that was a conversation she did not want to have. The excuses she told herself to avoid feeling guilty weren’t going to fly with him, even if she did have the nerve to say them out loud to him.

"It's a nice place... So how long you been here?"

Olivia let out a startled gasp at his voice coming from the other side of the shower curtain.

“You ass, you scared me. Don’t you know it’s dangerous to sneak up on people in the shower,” she said, sticking her head out from the side of the curtain and giving him a dirty look.

She started rinsing off as she answered his question.

“Thanks. It’ll be two years next month. I thought about finding a new place since my lease is almost up but I do like it here, it’s close to work and the neighbors aren’t nosy, we all pretty much keep to ourselves. What about you, are you still in the same place?”

She turned the water off and grabbed her towel as she stepped out. She glanced at him a few times as she dried off, trying to figure out what kind of mood he was in without being too obvious about it. She was dying to know what his thoughts were on seeing each other again and more importantly that they’d just fucked.

"You ass, you scared me. Don’t you know it’s dangerous to sneak up on people in the shower."

Rune laughed, it was unfettered and filled the bathroom. He didn't mean to startle her but the fact that he had coupled with her reaction was hilarious. Despite his mood he couldn't help it. Making fun and teasing each other was always something they both enjoyed... Olivia was like sunlight in a dark room...

His expression dropped forcibly and he quieted to listen to her as he watched her perfect silhouette behind the curtain.

"Thanks. It’ll be two years next month. I thought about finding a new place since my lease is almost up but I do like it here, it’s close to work and the neighbors aren’t nosy, we all pretty much keep to ourselves. What about you, are you still in the same place?”

He watched her creamy wet skin as she stepped out of the shower. Droplets of water finding the foor rug beneath her delicate feet, some splattering on the tile floor. She dried off as she watched him and as he tried to pretend he wasn't aware of it.

His dick was already ready for more and looking at Olivia's glistening breasts, sandwiched together just above her towel was not helping matters any.

He rose off her toilet seat and turned to look in the medicine cabinet's mirror. Rune's mind wandered once more as he began to answer her.

He envisioned this was completely normal. In some ways it even felt that way. Her drying off from the shower, him using the bathroom mirror. A conversation about what they planned on doing that day. Perhaps he'd make her lunch or breakfast and they'd cuddle on the couch while touching one another and making fun of a show or movie.

Maybe a couple kids running around complaining about their siblings touching their things... She'd tell them to stop and he'd back her up. Later after putting them to bed he'd take her into the bedroom and fuck her within an inch of her life... Collapsing into each other's arms. She'd fall asleep in his and he'd play with her hair....

Stop it!

He grimaced briefly as if in pain. His shrink had told him to stop torturing himself. Expectation and fantasy was not what he needed to let her go.

"Yeah I still got the same place... That loft over on Avenue A. I almost moved last year, had a little....problem with the neighbors but sh- that is...they moved out."

He walked back out to the hallway and into the kitchen without another word. His expression blank.

He picked up the phone as he glanced over the folded menu. Rune dialed the number and waited for someone to pick up. After awhile a very Asian sounding woman did. She asked what he wanted and he told her then asking her to hold on....

"Got the restaurant on the line," he called out "What do you want, kitten?"

His grip on the phone tightened. He told the woman to hold on so he could put it down as to not crush it.

It just slipped out, he rationalized. Maybe she didn't hear it. Where the fuck did that come from? He hadn't called her that in years, all of this was making him feel too familiar, and what he needed was distance.

She got a thrill from drying off her naked body with Rune just a few feet away. A fantasy popped into her mind of him pulling her towel off her and bending her over the sink, making her watch herself getting used by a nice, big cock, making her see how much she enjoyed being a wanton slut. She was instantly wet at the idea. A small smile played on her lips at the fantasy before she pushed it from her mind. It had been a long time since anyone had that kind of hold over her libido and Rune had a tighter hold on it than anyone ever would.

Rune stood up abruptly and for a moment she thought he had somehow known what she was thinking. Unfortunately, her towel stayed in place and he moved to stand in front of the sink, looking in the mirror. She chalked it up to his world-class vanity, something she’d almost forgotten about.

"Yeah I still got the same place... That loft over on Avenue A. I almost moved last year, had a little....problem with the neighbors but sh- that is...they moved out."

She caught his near slip of the tongue and instantly felt jealous as she realized he must have been fucking one of his neighbors. Despite her irritation at the thought she wondered what had happened...had they dated, how long their relationship had lasted, if the woman had sucked and fucked Olivia from Rune’s mind.

Olivia would’ve worried that her jealousy was showing on her face except that Rune walked out of the bathroom seconds after the words were out of his mouth. She took Rune’s place in front of the mirror and brushed her long hair as she tried to get back to her normal state of indifference.

What did it matter if he’d gotten over her by fucking some other chick or ten other chicks? She’d fucked her fair share of guys since they’d parted ways. The less practical part of her mind tried to point out that while she’d fucked her way through plenty of other guys none of them had been able to erase Rune from her mind; she’d just learned how to lock her thoughts and memories of him away. Which was exactly why she’d worked so hard to perfect her state of apathy, to shutup that part of her that still believed in true love and fairy tale endings.

"Got the restaurant on the line. What do you want, kitten?"

Any debate she was having with herself disappeared at the sound of the pet name. Memories of the times he’d called her that tried to fill her mind.

She wanted to stop and analyze why he had called her that but she knew she’d end up spending forever trying to find meaning in something that was probably meaningless, a name he called any of the chicks he was fucking. Unless of course, it had been a cruel attempt at reminding her of what she’d lost.

“Umm, some vegetable dumplings and kung pao shrimp. If you give them my name they’ll be able to pull the address up.”

She spent a minute convincing herself there was nothing to read into, she didn’t hold the same place in his life, or his heart that she had years ago. She went into the bedroom and slipped some little pajama shorts and a tank top on.

She put a convincing smile on her face and walked into the kitchen determined to treat this as realistically and unsentimentally as he was. She told herself she could look at this for what it was, a rekindled friendship with some great sex thrown in and if she told herself that enough times she might start to believe it.

“I hope you gave them my actual name...they won’t pull my info up with “Kitten”,” she said with a wink as she found her purse and pulled her credit card out.

She put the card on the counter and headed into the living room. She sat down on the couch, tucking her feet under her.

“So what do you do for fun these days?”

"Umm, some vegetable dumplings and kung pao shrimp. If you give them my name they’ll be able to pull the address up.”

He relayed her information to the woman on the phone, both the order and account so she could pull up Olivia's address. Afterwards deciding on some steamed dumplings and boneless spare ribs for himself he noticed her exit the bathroom wearing a cute pair of revealing pajama shorts and equally adorable tank top. He could see her large breasts peaking out at him from the sides and her bottoms left little to the imagination. Not that he needed to imagine. Olivia's body was a matter of record in his mind. He would never tell her but he had drawn her countless times over the years. In fact it was the first thing his shrink told him to stop doing when he first started seeing her.

"I hope you gave them my actual name...they won’t pull my info up with “Kitten” "

If he had a diamond in his mouth he could have made coal. Rune silently hoped she couldn't see his teeth clenching at her comment, and the affirmation that she had heard his slip of the tongue. If there was a hole nearby he would of crawled into it fondly, instead he bit the corner of his mouth and grinned while accepting the fact that she at least made light of it. Soon the dread of her hearing was replaced by the dread that she was not emotional over it... She didn't care... and he realized his self masochism would be absolute and all encompassing so he simply moved past it...

She placed her credit card on the counter but he ignored it. He would never have her pay for dinner. Back in those days he sponged off her quite enough and while he knew his male chauvinism and need for chivalry drove the feminist in Olivia absolutely mad he had no intention of eating food she paid for in her apartment on their first night together after all these years.

"Yes I have the number here...," he took the wallet out of his pants pocket and read her his own card number and info before asking her how long it would take and thanking her. He hung up the phone and placed it on the kitchen counter.

His head was still swimming when he tossed her her credit card and sat down on a recliner opposite her couch.

"So what do you do for fun these days?”

She was seated like a small angel on the cushions, her feet tucked underneath her and the folds of her thigh and calf teasing him. The shorts rode up ever so much and Rune couldn't think about anything at that moment other than how much he wanted to taste her skin again.

"I'm pretty busy with work...but for fun....well....not much has changed yknow?," he lied to save face. In truth he wasn't fucking nearly as many women as he had in the past. Fun wasn't a foreign concept for him but every pleasure was melancholy. It had been for years. "How bout you? Still clubbing?"

He looked about and found his shirt, tossing it over his shoulder as opposed to putting it on.

He forced himself to look her in the face and prayed it was a steel like gaze that met her eyes and not a helpless expecting weakness instead.

She set her credit card on the table next to the couch, sighing to show just how silly she thought his insistence to pay was. While his views on sex were modern he still had some old fashioned views. To say she thought they were ridiculous was an understatement.

"I'm pretty busy with work...but for fun....well....not much has changed yknow? How bout you? Still clubbing?"

It was an exercise in self-control to keep the smile plastered on her face. Not much had changed meant Rune still spent most of his free time having sexual escapades with any of the willing sluts who always seemed to be hanging around trying to get his attention. She tried to keep her voice even as she watched him find his shirt.

“Not much during the week other than work. I do still like to go to the clubs on the weekends. I guess things don’t change all that much.”

She had a hard time keeping her eyes on his face, they kept sliding down to his bare chest. It wasn’t all that surprising that even though he’d just thoroughly fucked her she was still wanting more, that’s how it had always been for them. What was strange was that when they weren’t having sex everything seemed uncomfortable, like it was a struggle to interact with each other outside of fucking.

While sex may have been a big part of their relationship before all the other aspects of their relationship had come easily as well. Even when they first got together it was like they had known each other for years. Now everything just seemed...hard. She wondered if Rune had noticed or if it even bothered him. She told herself it was just temporary, once they’d spent a little more time together the awkwardness would go away…

“I’m glad you didn’t end up moving. Your loft is so nice, I always loved it there. You’re going to have to have me over sometime soon, I really want to see it again.”

She realized any enjoyment at seeing his old place, where they had spent so much time together, would be wrapped up with painful feelings of loss. She wasn’t sure if she thought the pleasure would outweigh the pain or if she just wanted to punish herself.

“Hey, thanks for hanging out with me, it’s really nice to spend time with you again. It would’ve been pretty depressing just hanging out by myself after the funeral. I’m sure you had other, uh, things you could have been doing.”

She knew she was fishing just like she knew she was playing with fire. Sure, he could end up saying something nice like how he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but he could just as likely mention that he’d canceled plans with some other woman to be here instead. It would be a little sadistic for him to actually say that but she knew Rune could be cruel when he wanted to, it just typically wasn’t at her expense. And maybe that was the point, she was pretty certain which way his response was going to turn out and she’d get satisfaction from his lack of cruelty.

She was once the only person he felt normal around.

Time with her was the only time he didn't spend longing for something else... To be somewhere different... Wanting something more... Save for all the phone conversations they used to have where he simply wanted to be next to her and not be apart. In her presence he felt he could say anything...

At least that's how it had been.

Now he found himself dancing the dance. Innuendo, half truths, masked emotions and bait topics. Everything but feigned interest and empathy. That much was real. He hung on her every word while acting as if he could care less and analyzed every syllable while reading between every line. His mind was a super computer programmed to decipher the code that was Olivia. A by product of spending so long learning about her and who she was... Living every moment of their lives with her in mind. It would of been as healthy as a marriage... But what they had once had was anything but healthy. The problem was reading that knowledge at face value and divorcing himself from what he wanted to see. Something he could do with anyone... But Olivia.

It was a travesty that now they sat here in this room. The uncomfortable silence deafening and the tension thick in the air.

He mentioned his habits of late and she seemed unaffected. Deep inside he wished it would matter to her but again... Why should it? Only a lost fool holds on to the past as tightly as Rune did. It would of seemed worse if he had told the truth. He couldn't let her know how lame his existence was now. Granted he was no saint. There were the few girls he fucked around with and the fewer of those that were insistent on starting something more than sexual with him which he had no interest in doing. However he had to pad the numbers, it was a direct expression of how unscathed their relationship left him and his had to dwarf hers which he had no doubt were fairly high. It didn't matter that he screwed his way through the alphabet shortly after they broke up... What mattered was now what mattered was what he ended up as.

"Not much during the week other than work. I do still like to go to the clubs on the weekends. I guess things don’t change all that much.”

Perhaps it wasn't all bad he thought.

He was interesting to her again. That much was certain. He wouldn't be sitting here if he wasn't. The offer of Chinese would never have been made. With distance and even a bit of unfamiliarity came excitement. At one time he knew everything there was to know or everything there was to tell... At least, he should have. His attention was admittedly split back then which was part of the problem.

Part.

This new Olivia was stronger. Still very much the woman he wanted but distant and partially unexplored, at least to him. While he hated the loss of... Ownership... He hated... Loosing her, loosing her attention and adoration, and how all of this would undoubtedly be temporary, he was starting to enjoy the fact that they again could enjoy each other. It was still unfortunate it was buried under all this bullshit pretense and ceremony but it was what it was...wasn't it. They were in some ways sharing again.

At what cost?

He felt foolish suddenly. Looking around he wondered what the point of entertaining this was. He hadn't changed. He could tell himself he had, he could pretend until he believed. Hell he had almost began to not think of her so much... And here he was again.

The game of his life was a cruel and ironic one. Perhaps easier to navigate if he was an ignorant fool.

"I’m glad you didn’t end up moving. Your loft is so nice, I always loved it there. You’re going to have to have me over sometime soon, I really want to see it again.”

He began to sweat. The sight of her breasts pushing against the thin tank top exciting hi further than the conversation and his ponderings. He licked his lips as he hid the motion by wiping some perspiration from his upper lip. His mind raced to the numerous items in his apartment that she had given him: the poster of her with a porn star she had taken for him that he kept hung up on his bedroom wall, the numerous CDs and DVDs she had made and or given to him... The box of letters and mementos that he kept. If she saw even one of those things his image would be shattered. The game would be over.

And yet the idea of her in his place again was irresistible. He decided right then to clean up when he finally got home.

"Your welcome anytime Hun, just call ahead yknow? Some days I'm with Tris. Some days I'm not even up till noon."

He knew she wouldn't show. It was a fake gesture but just in case he was still going to cover his ass.

"Hey, thanks for hanging out with me, it’s really nice to spend time with you again. It would’ve been pretty depressing just hanging out by myself after the funeral. I’m sure you had other, uh, things you could have been doing.”

He was surprised and unsure if he managed to hide it.

"Uhm....yeah, no worries. It HAS been nice right? I totally would be home sulking with a bottle of wine if you weren't around, yknow? I honestly still have that...issue with death... So it means a lot to be with a good...... Friend...yknow? I uh... I..."

Shut up shut up shit up shut up

"...I missed you."

Shoot yourself. Right now. Right in the face.

"Your welcome anytime Hun, just call ahead yknow? Some days I'm with Tris. Some days I'm not even up till noon."

She murmured “of course” and smiled brightly despite the flare of displeasure and, while she was loathed to admit it, hurt. They weren’t together anymore so it was totally normal he’d want her to call before dropping by but it still bothered her. She was already telling herself that he was just making excuses when the reality was he didn’t want her interrupting him with some chick.

"Hey, thanks for hanging out with me, it’s really nice to spend time with you again. It would’ve been pretty depressing just hanging out by myself after the funeral. I’m sure you had other, uh, things you could have been doing.”

"Uhm....yeah, no worries. It HAS been nice right? I totally would be home sulking with a bottle of wine if you weren't around, yknow? I honestly still have that...issue with death... So it means a lot to be with a good...... Friend...yknow? I uh... I......I missed you."

It had taken him a moment to answer and she’d wondered if he was weighing his words as much as she was. His response was too...real though, it left him too vulnerable to be a calculated lie. It wasn’t that she didn’t think he could lie well enough for it to be a very good act, she just wanted to believe she still knew him well enough to recognize genuine emotion.

“Yeah I remember your hangup with death, and here I’d thought you would have mastered all your flaws,” she said teasingly.

There was a knock at the door signaling the arrival of their food and she stood up to answer it. As she walked towards the door she stopped next to the chair Rune was sitting in.

“I’m glad you missed me, I missed you too.”

She leaned down and kissed him softly before heading to the door. She pulled some cash from her purse for a tip and smiled at the delivery guy. She ordered from the restaurant enough that she knew his name and she exchanged pleasantries with him before closing the door. She set the bag on the counter and started pulling the food out. She put everything out on the table along with plates and silverware before turning to Rune.

“What did you want to drink? There’s milk, juice, water, a variety of alcohol...I know, I know you don’t drink,” she said as she got herself a glass of wine.

She was hoping he wasn’t going to start thinking she was some kind of alcoholic now. She actually usually didn’t drink that much but it had been harder to avoid today what with the funeral and the mixed emotions she had at being around Rune again.

She wasn’t sure how long he’d actually stick around now that they’d fucked but she figured the fact that he was staying to eat was an indicator that he actually did want to go through with a friendship. Of course, once he’d left and had some time to think it through he might end up changing his mind. She was a little concerned at what her own emotional fallout was going to be once he left and she was left with nothing to distract her. She couldn’t change it now though so she was going to enjoy it as long as she could.

"Yeah I remember your hangup with death, and here I’d thought you would have mastered all your flaws."

"Evidently not," he retorted "... I'm still a sucker for a certain troublesome woman."

He winked at her as the food arrived. The delivery boy announcing himself with a forceful knock.

"I’m glad you missed me, I missed you too.”

Every part of every fiber of his very being wanted to believe that but his logic would not let him. When discerning truth in others it was their actions that told you what matters and feelings to believe not words, and she had done nothing save for what she had done with countless others, to show him otherwise. She had never looked back, he steeled himself with that cold hard fact as her honey words dripped over him and fell heavy to the ground.

Olivia and the man from the Chinese food place shared a moment, exchanging pleasantries. It went on a bit longer than Rune found comfortable and he caught himself fidgeting in his seat. Casting a dirty look from behind her as he attempted to peer into the hallway without getting off the chair.

He instantly assumed they had fucked. It made sense... She no doubt had ordered from the place before and as friendly as Olivia was she wouldn't just get to know every single guy she met. He played out the scenario in his head. Paying careful attention to not make it fantastic or unrealistic. She had met him in this fashion and they had exchanged numbers... Purely a sexual thing since she wouldn't be caught dead with a guy that delivered Chinese take out. He had at some point put his filthy cock inside her and cum in the same hole he had... Or perhaps she never got a number. Just another blowjob in a long line of blowjobs... Kind of like shaking a hand.

Rune was fuming by the time Olivia shut the door. He pretended to be fixing his boot as he composed himself.

"What did you want to drink? There’s milk, juice, water, a variety of alcohol...I know, I know you don’t drink".

She had arranged plates and utensils on the living room table along with all of their separate orders. The restaurant had included free egg rolls and lo-mein since they had ordered so much.

Suddenly none of it appealed to him.

"You remembered.... Yeah I don't drink... Cept on certain occasions. A drink sounds fine."

Rune drank to forget, which he imagined was the same thing his alcoholic father had done. That is when he wasn't beating or screaming at his family. Rune despised alcohol but in those self destructive moments he allowed himself... It was acceptable.

The room was quiet again as he separated his containers of Chinese food and started popping tops in a display intended to give the impression he would actually eat this shit.

The food was prepared well. He had had plenty of Chinese food in the course of his life but the circumstances had soured his apetite.

He started to think about Martin, and how short life was in the end.

"So how's your mom?," he asked as he speared a rib piece with his fork "she still hot?"

"You remembered.... Yeah I don't drink... Cept on certain occasions. A drink sounds fine."

Olivia was caught off-guard by his choice, even with all the time they’d spent together she had rarely seen him drink. She poured a second glass of wine and handed it to him before sitting down on the couch.

“If you’d prefer something other than wine let me know, I could make you a rum and coke or something.”

She dished some of her kung pao shrimp onto her plate and grabbed a couple of the dumplings. She wondered if his decision to give in and drink was a good thing or a bad thing. The fact that he was drinking when he hardly ever drank might mean he felt comfortable enough around her to lose a little control...or it might mean that he was having so many unpleasant feelings around her that he had to drink to cope.

That was one of the things she hated about the new dynamic they had. Before he would’ve told her if he was upset about something but now they were keeping a pretty tight lid on how they felt. A couple more glasses of wine though and that might change.

"So how's your mom? She still hot?"

Olivia grimaced at the reminder that he found her Mother hot.

“At least wait until I finish eating before talking about how attractive you think my Mom is. She’s fine though, she and Dad just got back from a cruise. From all the pictures she took and how long she went on and on about it they had a good time.”

She took a few bites of her food as Rune picked at his. She hoped he liked it, it was one of her favorite places. As soon as the thought passed through her mind she wondered why it mattered. Him liking or not liking it shouldn’t really mean anything to her.

“How’s Tris doing? I only talked to him for a few minutes the other night and all we talked about was the funeral.”

She had been tempted to bring Rune up when she’d called Tris but she had forced herself not to. As curious as she was about Rune’s life now she didn’t know exactly how Tris regarded her. Rune might not have told him all the gory details about their breakup but even so his brother had probably been able to tell how hurt Rune was.

"If you’d prefer something other than wine let me know, I could make you a rum and coke or something.”

"This is fine Hun, thanks."

Rune preferred bottles of Heineken but considering how he didn't really drink it was a moot point. Wine was just as good better tasting in some cases. He was just glad and surprised Olivia didn't offer him one of the wine coolers he remembered her being so fond of.

"At least wait until I finish eating before talking about how attractive you think my Mom is. She’s fine though, she and Dad just got back from a cruise. From all the pictures she took and how long she went on and on about it they had a good time.”

He nodded in understanding. He had always found himself curious about Olivia's mother but that more than likely stemmed from the same place he was curious about most women he hadn't slept with. It was a running joke only he had found funny and even now only brought it up to annoy her. The fact that he had stopped flirting with her mom as soon as he discovered it was disturbing to her spoke of how much he cared about Olivia. It wouldn't of mattered normally. She was special though.

He watched her start to eat and the hunger won out over his discomfort and jealousy.

Kane grabbed the container of boneless spare ribs and held them closer to his face so he could shovel in a few pieces. After setting it back down he popped open the tin of dumplings and started on those making sure to eat slowly and carefully despite how famished he suddenly felt. The soy sauce was good... Not too bitter not too sweet. It was a good meal, delicious as it was aerobatic, the smells of the Asian cuisine filled the apartment in no time.

It was nice he thought. Just sitting and eating with her. They hadn't in forever and it had been even longer since they had without any animosity, hurt feelings or crushed expectations between them.

He watched her eat... He watched her toes move beneath her ass and how her cheeks filled before she chewed. He watched her neck and shoulders as she took more food and smiled remembering a similar meal they had shared one day in a small motel room shortly after their first time in bed together. They were so young then... With no idea what lay in store.

It was nice.

But ironic demons have cruel humor. He wondered how many other men were so privileged? How was it that she showed up in his life so close to the anniversary if when he lost her? Why was she drawing this out with him? She obviously was not done fucking... Perhaps this was a refuel before round two. He continued eating, shutting his eyes and his mind from the attempts at a logical argument.

"How’s Tris doing? I only talked to him for a few minutes the other night and all we talked about was the funeral.”

He stopped mid chew for a moment then finished what was in his mouth and swallowed hard.

"Same as always... Madly in love for this the hundredth time, but of course 'This is the one'," he mocked mimicking Tristam to the best of his ability. "The fool. He never learns."

He thought about what Tristam and her could discuss other than the funeral. He wondered if all this was some elaborate hook up that Tristam had planned. Spectacular. Pity sex... As if that's what he was moping about all these years. Sure Tris would tell her to "talk to my brother, give him some closure" but Olivia would hear it different.. She'd smell weakness and opportunity. Pity sex. Fuck my life. How did he not see this before? Sex he could get...it was....

"Love is his.... Holy grail. He's still chasing it I guess," he trailed off as he continued to eat with more fervor. A few more ribs and he felt full. Granted he'd be hungry again soon but for now he was sated.

He put the tops back on and regarded the clean plate he hadn't yet touched.

Rune pushed everything away and took his glass of wine.

"Your still the hottest bitch I know....just saying."

"Same as always... Madly in love for this the hundredth time, but of course 'This is the one'. The fool. He never learns."

She smiled at his imitation of his brother though she felt a thread of disappointment, and maybe guilt, at his disdain. When she first met him Rune was the epitome of the lifelong bachelor, preferring variety over some long-term emotional commitment. Of course back when they’d first met she had been just like Tristam, desperate for the fairy tale romance and everlasting love. By the end of their relationship though she and Rune had seemed to swap stances. It wasn’t that she had stopped loving him, it was just… She forced herself off that trail of thought. She did not want to go down that road with Rune sitting a few feet away.

"Love is his.... Holy grail. He's still chasing it I guess.”

“Well we all have to chase something I suppose, give ourselves some kind of purpose. At least he chose something that is a pretty worthy goal.”

As soon as the words were out of her mouth she realized how laughable that probably seemed coming from her. She focused on the food on her plate and tried to keep from imagining all the things he might be thinking about her after that little conversational misstep.

She finished her wine in record time and got up to refill the glass. Rune was still working on his wine but she decided to bring the bottle over just in case he wanted more when he was done...which translated to when she finished her second glass and would inevitably want more. She finished her food as Rune was closing his containers and she followed suit.

"Your still the hottest bitch I know....just saying."

She couldn’t stop a big smile from forming and a few seconds later she realized she was actually blushing slightly. Normally she would’ve been flooded with embarrassment that she was blushing but it was a nice compliment considering the source...and his compliments had always meant a lot to her.

“Considering how big the comparison pool for that is I’m very flattered,” she said with a wink as she stood up and started taking the food to the refrigerator.

She sat back down on the couch and started working on her second glass of wine as she thought about the compliment. She wanted to believe that he meant it but that cynical part of her was refusing to just take the compliment at face value. Her self-esteem hadn’t been great when she first met him but he had slowly built it up with each sweet compliment, soft touch, and adoring look. She still had her moments when it slipped but for the most part, she had a pretty high fucking opinion of herself, thanks to Rune. Which was just another reason in a long list of why she felt guilty about what she’d done. It wasn’t that she put all the blame on herself for what happened, she hadn’t just forgotten the things he’d done and put him on some saintly pedestal once they were apart. She just figured on the imaginary scoreboard she’d won when it came to who hurt who more. She hated feeling guilty, it was something she avoided at all costs. She rarely felt it anymore though she figured that was just because she ignored it better rather than because she’d turned into a sociopath.

“So...even though it’s been years and probably an unimaginable number of women you haven’t run across a hotter chick? I find that hard to believe…”

"Well we all have to chase something I suppose, give ourselves some kind of purpose. At least he chose something that is a pretty worthy goal.”

He wasn't expecting that kind of comment from her. It aggravated him for a myriad of reasons, most of all because she was the last person to speak on the values of love... At least to him.

Rune watched her but said nothing. There was nothing good that would come out of his mouth had he opened it.

It was ironic to say the least, that the woman who instilled the concept of love not being bullshit, the one that then brought that concept down around his ears, was once again of mind that it was a noble paradigm and defending Tristam's starry eyed ideas.

Telling Olivia she was hot had the desired effect, though it was short lived. Her ear to ear grin, which admittedly still filled his heart up and was as infectious as it was beautiful, only lasted a few moments. He wiped his own growing grin off and listened.

"Considering how big the comparison pool for that is I’m very flattered."

He half grimaced and half smiled, knowing enough about people to know this was a truth or at least half truth wrapped up in a joke for the sake of pleasantly. Certain people could not take a compliment but Olivia wasn't usually that person. When they were together she adsorbed them willingly. Sure there were still oceans of doubt that he himself occasionally helped create but at times he was certain she had looked past his initial reputation and believed him and it always made him happy.

He tore his vision from her so he might think clearly for a moment.

It dawned on him that she might actually have missed him. That she might actually want to be friends after all this time. Sure they could fuck...that much was a given. Olivia and Rune only needed two things to have sex. Time and oportunity. They would always want each other... And if able to... Act on that desire. But beyond that how would this work? He was far too jealous to be her friend and another thing occurred to him.

He still loved her.

And yet in part he still hated her.

"So...even though it’s been years and probably an unimaginable number of women you haven’t run across a hotter chick? I find that hard to believe…”

"It could have been twice as long and I still wouldn't have found anyone that could get me half as hard half as fast as you do," the compliment was almost reflexive.

Rune flattered women on an almost muscle memory level, but this statement also happened to be true. In fact Olivia was the standard he held all women to. Her hair, her tits, her legs... She had the body he always lusted after. It wasn't just just how sexy she was but how perfectly she matched him mentally. However he wouldn't of been so quick to bolster her confidence if he had thought it through. He knew it was good to remain a bit detached and even rude... If he was too sweet to her she'd loose interest as she had before.

He couldn't turn back now though... He had already put his fucking foot in his mouth.

"You've always been the sexiest woman I've known... You'll be the first to know when that changes," he smirked as he leaned back and finished off his glass.

Rune sat forward and poured himself another glass before downing it quickly. He wanted to be numb. He wanted to feel nothing.

He poured another glass.

"It could have been twice as long and I still wouldn't have found anyone that could get me half as hard half as fast as you do.”

She smiled at him, pleased at both what he’d said and how quickly he’d said it. The wine was starting to kick in and she had an easier time just accepting the compliment without feeling the need to pick it apart until she was convinced it held no meaning. She also felt herself starting to get turned on though that would have happened regardless of if she’d been drinking or not. She had always loved when Rune told her how hot she got him, how far ahead of the pack she was when it came to other women. It got her wet just as quickly as when he degraded her. She shifted around slightly and tried to keep from looking like she was on the verge of tearing her clothes off and begging him to fuck her until she was too weak to walk.

"You've always been the sexiest woman I've known... You'll be the first to know when that changes.”

She fought to keep the smile on her face as a bit of jealousy began to form at the fact that he had said “when” instead of “if”. She knew it was a minor thing to latch onto and put so much meaning into. She had always felt jealous when it came to him, something that didn’t really happen with anyone else. It wasn’t that she minded sharing on occasion, she loved watching him with another woman. It was when they were getting his attention instead of just his cock that sent her jealousy into the red. Some of it was from her fear that he would decide she wasn’t good enough anymore and leave her. She knew it was fairly irrational, he had rarely said or did anything that didn’t show how special she was to him. No one was afforded the luxury of rationality about everything though and so the times his attention had been on another woman had led to some of their biggest blowouts.

She realized that in the time she’d been lost in thought Rune had moved on to his third glass of wine. A pang of concern went through her but she pushed it away. She figured drunk Rune could be fun and more open about...things. Not to be outdone she finished her second glass and poured another one. She drank half the glass in a few sips before letting herself be honest in return.

“For the record, you’re the hottest guy I know. No one gets me off like you do...which means it’s been a rough few years.”

It was the truth and she found it wasn’t as painful to admit as she’d thought it would be. It helped that he had said it first. She didn’t have to worry about looking foolish or pathetic if he felt the same way.

“So it’s been like three years, right? I used to know like everything about you but there must be things I don’t know now. Tell me something no one else knows.”

She finished the rest of her wine and poured herself another glass. The bottle was almost two-thirds gone but she knew she had at least two more unopened bottles in the fridge.

You should probably also come sit by me since we’re friends and all now,” she said patting the spot next to her on the couch.

“For the record, you’re the hottest guy I know. No one gets me off like you do...which means it’s been a rough few years.”

Rune smiled while nodding. He did not doubt that he fucked her better than anyone or that he at least fucked her exactly how she needed it. No one understood her or seemed to have the other half of her brain as he did and in that the two of them would always be the devils in bed they needed for each other...addicting and utterly delicious in every depraved and twisted way. But he knew for a fact she had no doubt slept with more attractive men. It wasn't an insecurity he knew she was no longer his and he knew they still couldn't compare to his cock or his method of fucking her mind and body but he knew it was bullshit.

It was not however much of a compliment anymore. It was something he could and had gotten from any number of women. Maybe not so many lately but the point was he wanted that... Adoration... That loyalty and utter devotion to him.

"Thanks Hun, I'm glad we still catch each other's eye. Would be pretty sad if I did all those push-ups for nothing," he jested as he sat his glass down. Wondering if he was going a bit too fast. He noticed she had stayed right in there with him now on what was her third glass he thought. He wondered how much she drunk, when he met her she drank a bit but kept careful to not get hammered in his presence. But that was long ago.

He wanted what he couldn't have, he wanted her heart. Not hollow praise... and he hated himself for it.

"So it’s been like three years, right? I used to know like everything about you but there must be things I don’t know now. Tell me something no one else knows.”

He wondered if he should go for broke here, I mean he was going down in fucken pathetic, sentimental flames anyway right? So why not.... I love you, I've always loved you... Then they'd fuck, then they'd sleep and in the morning he'd be alone and find note telling him she'd had something to do but she'd call him and maybe he'd be good for the day, struggling with the fantasy that that phone would actually ring. But soon enough he'd be miserable, realizing she hasn't changed and he had...which was another irony. Fuck that. Better to just have sex and break out... He could forgive allowing himself to spend the evening with her but not open up to her again. No, never.

He realized his hand movements were slowing and his head felt.... Thick. That was quicker than expected but Rune had very little tolerance for booze. Soon the horrible honesty and feelings would begin to spew from his bone box.

"Something you don't even already know?..." He took a moment, pretending to need time to think. He considered making something up but saw her expectation.. Her sweet smile and folded like a cheap fucken suit. "No one knows that I read your..." Panic set in and he shifted gears... "- that is," he laughed uncomfortably "ok I'm a bit buzzed already... No one knows I read those god awful romance novels like they sell in the supermarket."

He sighed in his mind. Fuck my life.

"You should probably also come sit by me since we’re friends and all now,” she said patting the spot next to her on the couch."

He changed his mind and broke with ceremony, grabbing the bottle of wine and holding it to his lips. He swallowed the red liquid hungrily for a few moments, tossing aside reservation and clunked it back down on the table.

"Your gonna need another one of these," he tapped the bottle to demonstrate it was empty.

He rose slowly from the recliner and tossed his shirt along its back. He walked up to her slowly, like an animal stalking never taking his eyes off hers. Rune sat down next to her...his pants touching her thighs.

He grabbed her and pulled her clumsily atop him, like a child across his knees and held her against him like he used to.

"So...I take it we weren't friends before huh? Since we are friends again now."

He rested his head on the top of hers and smelled it.

"Your hair smells the same..."

"Something you don't even already know?...”

Her smile grew as he played along and she realized she was really excited to learn something new about him, something that only she would know.

“No one knows that I read your...- that is, ok I'm a bit buzzed already... No one knows I read those god awful romance novels like they sell in the supermarket."

She couldn’t help but laugh...not at what he’d said but at how he’d stumbled through the whole thing. The wine was clearly going to his head and she thought maybe after another glass they’d both be buzzed enough to relax around each other like they used to.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t laughing at you reading romance novels, I swear. If it makes you feel better I secretly read them too.”

She took a few sips of wine, worried he was going to ignore her request that he come sit by her. Even after everything that had happened at the end and all the time that had passed since then she still wanted to be near him, touching him when they were together. She watched as he grabbed the bottle of wine and started chugging it like it was a bottle of beer for a few moments before setting it down with a loud thunk. There was no way he was going to be anything but drunk at this point and she tried to remember if she’d ever actually been around him when he was drunk.

"Your gonna need another one of these.”

She would’ve gotten up to get another bottle but he stood up then and she couldn’t seem to tear her gaze away from his as she slowly moved towards her. Her breath came faster the closer he got before he finally sat down next to her. She couldn’t decide if she should be happy that such a little thing could get her so turned on or if it was just pathetic on her part. She let out a surprised gasp as he grabbed her suddenly and pulled her onto his lap. Even though it had been years her body seemed to react the same way and she automatically cuddled up against him.

"So...I take it we weren't friends before huh? Since we are friends again now."

She realized she might be more buzzed than she’d thought, she hadn’t meant to add the qualifier to that. Luckily the alcohol helped her to feel less mortified about it as she normally would have been. He rested his head on hers and a content sigh passed through her lips.

"Your hair smells the same..."

She let herself enjoy the moment for a little bit, rubbing her cheek against his bare chest.

“You always did love everything about my hair.”

In truth, he had seemed to love everything about her, which had been part of the attraction...until it wasn’t. When she’d finally let herself look back at their time together she had, of course, missed it.

“Were we friends before? I figured you, uh, probably didn’t think too fondly of me after...we split.”

Under normal circumstances, she would have ignored his question and tried to distract him with sex. The downside of drinking, she supposed. She could always use the excuse they needed another bottle of wine as an escape if she needed to. Maybe it was better to get the conversation out of the way sooner rather than later anyway...

"You always did love everything about my hair.”

"There are a great many things I always loved about you in general, but yes... You hair always held a high ranking on that list."

Her hair did not only smell clean, smell sweet... But it had an aroma he could scarcely describe. Maybe it was something that only he picked up on. But it was the same as it had always been. Rune had a weakness for the smell of hair. It wasn't a fetish but with Olivia almost anything could of been. Still... He could hold her and enjoy the feeling and scent and feel of her hair for a great long while if there weren't so many wonderful other amusements on her body.

“Were we friends before? I figured you, uh, probably didn’t think too fondly of me after...we split.”

"True enough... I did not," he paused twirling a lock of her tresses in his fingers "... I don't know if I've had a single fond thought before the funeral. I suppose that too is ironic... It taking a funeral to improve... Things."

He avoided the obvious pitfalls. He was drunk but not hammered and was still unwilling to just devolve into a conversation about their break up. It had been his favorite topic for years but eventually he had finally managed to stop thinking about it. Other women helped but in the end it was the fact that sometimes you just don't get answers. His therapist and brother both felt he needed closure but what was that? She had left him for someone else, someone whom she didn't even stay with. He had lost her. For what he would always see as something meaningless. Does the reason matter? Would any explanation make him feel better and less discarded? More loved? No. The only... The final burning question that remained was what had changed his way of thinking for the second time...

How can two people who once loved each other so fully, so profoundly. Drift so far apart? If that could wither into rot, then what mattered at all? Nothing held value.

Fuck closure. He thought. No such thing. You simply become preoccupied with other tragedies. Other scores to settle. Different pain.

He had wanted to hurt her. That would make him whole. But even that seemed to become less and less important as time went on. He told himself the best thing he could do was not care. Then she had to show up on his train.

He let her slip off his chest towards his shoulder... shifting his body to one side. With his arm around her still Rune held her in his arms but looked down at her, cradling Olivia by her back. Her large breasts barely contained by the fabric of the tank top. He leaned down and over placing his face between her tits for a moment before searching for a nipple through the fabric and closing his lips together gently. Trapping it between them.

He placed a palm on her thigh, caressing it before biting the nipple in his mouth.

He considered fucking her was more than she deserved. Perhaps he should have some dignity and not be lead around by his lust. Is this who he was, a man who accepts his killer with open arms? He wanted to think he forgot her but this was not indifference it was hell of his own making and the reason he had told himself to never forget the lesson she taught him.

He turned his body pushing her down onto the couch cushions and landing on top of her.

Rune lifted her tank top and began devouring her fucking tits with kisses and licks and bites and sucks. He covered her mouth with one hand as he worshipped her breasts and squeezed them with the other.

"True enough... I did not... I don't know if I've had a single fond thought before the funeral. I suppose that too is ironic... It taking a funeral to improve... Things."

Olivia had been enjoying the feelings his last words had prompted. Lots of guys gave her compliments but for the most part they slid off her like nothing. She doubted they meant them, it was just a part of the ritual to get into her pants and since she was doing the same thing it didn’t matter. She knew Rune wasn’t lying, he truly had loved a lot of things about her. Her pleasure was damped by the fact that he really had hated her all these years.

She was grateful he had just touched on the topic without bringing up anything specific or placing any blame. She didn’t fool herself into thinking that was all that would ever need to be said about the topic but she had always been a fan of putting off hard conversations for as long as possible. She still didn’t like hearing him confirm what she’d been thinking about how he’d felt about her. Sure he had alluded that he was starting to think fond things about her again but that could just mean he thought she had good taste in decorating and a tight pussy.

It shouldn’t bother her, she had left him, moved on to other guys. If she wanted his love and adoration she could have just stayed so why did it matter now. Logic aside it did matter still. She couldn’t expect him to just stay frozen in his feelings for her forever but she wanted him to. She wanted him to love her again, to be devoted to her.

She realized it was awful; whether she wanted it because she wanted a second shot with him or because she just craved the boost to her self-esteem didn’t matter. She knew he wasn’t some toy, she couldn’t just fuck with his emotions on a whim, whatever the reasoning. Yet here she was. She reached over to the table to grab her wine and finished the glass in a long sip.

Rune shifted slightly and she slid lower until he was cradling her. It was a very nice feeling, like being home. She could feel his gaze on her for a few moments before he leaned down until she could feel his breath on her breasts. His mouth was soon teasing her nipple through her shirt and she moaned, already craving his cock again. Her pulse sped up as one of his hands started softly moving along her thigh. His teeth clamped down on her nipple and a shudder of pleasure moved through her.

He turned her so she was lying back on the couch, his body above her. She trailed her fingers along the back of his neck as he pushed her top up. His mouth seemed to find all the right places on her tits, knowing exactly what spot to suck or lick or bite to drive her crazy. He put a hand over her mouth and her desperate moans became muffled behind it.

The couch wasn’t ideal, there was only so much she could move around before she was in danger of making them both fall off it. She would’ve mentioned she had a very nice bed just down the hall but his hand on her mouth would make it unintelligible. He alternated what his mouth was doing so she never knew whether to expect pain or pleasure which only made her enjoy it more.

She knew she was going to have hickeys on her cleavage tomorrow and even though she usually hated that this time it made her happy. It made her remember that Rune wasn’t the only one in danger of having his emotions toyed with. It was entirely possible she would be the one shattered this time around. There was no turning back for her now though, she’d gone too far down this path to not see it through, even if it might end up breaking her.
