I answered this question already in the fluff fairies thread about it.

No, it's not time and it never will be until these two lovely wonderful people and mods get too fed up with the bullshit or so busy that they quit.

:rose:

Interestingly enough everyone who's SAID anything, doesn't want new mods, but their's an equal number of votes for them to step down. If you don't like them, please have the courage to say something.

Ditto. What she said. No nads, I say.

I don't see why this is necessary.

And it comes with the territory really. If you do anything you are going to piss half the people off. 50/50 will get you in the White House. Now if it was 80% or 90% then yeah, they might want to step down.

Well of course you don't.
Bend over and let me have a look.
Then again, never mind.

The proof is in the pudding, they say, right WriterDom?

Because it's cowardly to call for someone to step down and not express your reasons for that call. Got a problem with someone? Have the intestinal fortitude to admit it, then tell them about it, and give them a chance to either defend their actions or make a correction.

This anonymous shit is feeble. Anonymous voting is a plus, but anonymously registering negative opinions? Weak.

And what he said, too.

Now, the General Board... they need some real moderators over there!
No problem with the mods here, but then, this forum seems to attract a higher class of posters most of the time.

Yeah, I voted "yes." I think we should vote on new ones because if it is so close a lot of people are unhappy and something is going on. And maybe people don't want speak their opinion because when other people speak their opinion that goes against what certain people are looking for in a reply; it gets ugly and usually an arguing starts. Some people would whether keep their opinion to themselves than have it turned into a pissing contest, like it always does.

Ever wonder why I don't post in any of the the serious threads?

But the polls have only just opened. The fun has only just begun Kitty.

Hey, I don't have a problem with people voting yes or calling for a vote of confidence. I'm just of the opinion that you should own your opinions.

Personally, the moderation here is freakin' awesome. How many complaints do you see that are based on actual specific trespasses against Litsters? What happened to "If it ain't broke, why fix it?". Spam is removed quickly, posts in the wrong forum are bounced to their proper places, and I rarely see evidence of Marquis or Cat editting people's posts or censoring anyone.

this place has a serious free speech policy. this rather pointedly requires the sort of laissez faire moderation that we see from our current mods. It's also the mod style that I use on the boards I mod. Fuck, I hate it when a mod steps up and squelches dicussion because someone might be offended. Fuck that. Offend. It is my right to not read you, and yours to not read me. Anyone that goes beyond that is acting counter to free speech and thus counter to the core attitude of Lit. No thanks, do no want.

I'm not going to kiss Marquis or Cat on the ass. Not interested, but I am going to give them credit where it is due. They don't fuck with the boards, and that is what we need. I don't personally see a reason to oust them when they aren't doing something wrong.

If they are being abusive, indict em. If not, let em continue to do the good work they're doing.

The dude has a sound opinion on this subject, makes a good deal of sense.

I'd bet that button packs a mean wad of fluff.

I'll second that opinion.

Oh, and Yang, thank you, you are not so bad yourself.

Didn't vote so far. I would vote Yes though for some other parts of Lit.

To all of you who call me or those like me cowardly...

I voted yes, and I said so.

I want The 3 Stooges and also, there was no "I don't give a shit" option.

But on a side note: I think things are fine as they are. Like Netz said and I agree, I like the light-handedness of the mods we have now. I don't see anything broken so I see no need fixing anything.

I know you voted yes. I also know you were joking, cause you nominated the three stooges. But their are (last I looked) 7 other people who voted yes, and they aren't saying why. I don't care if someone thinks it's time to vote for new mods, but if you think so I'd like to know why.

I voted yes, though I think Cat and Marquis do about as good a job as can be done.

The reason? I'm an evil, sadistic bastard, and would love to see how long it would be before someone who volunteered to replace either or both of them ran screaming and crying for their mothers, and begged on bended knee for C&M to come back.

It would be nice if people could express opinions that differ and not get their asses chewed. I don't think new mods would change that aspect of lit. It's not going to make cat or marquis any less popular, or their opinions any less followed, for one thing. Beyond that, the mods are just two people. If only two people climbed down the throats of those with different ideas, then they'd get ignored. The rest of lit is not going to change, just cause the mods changed.

Beyond that, (this is directed in general) not that I'd be up for a vote on this, but I would not take their jobs, even if their was pay involved. I'm a mod for other forums, and have been off and on for years and it's a pain-in-the-ass thankless job, rather like parenting. Anything goes wrong and the mods get PM'd about it, even if it's not their fault. And if they don't fix it, you know with the wave of their magic wand, people get pissy.

Bet his inner thighs are chafed from all that friction they cause.

Tell me how you do it SW?
How DO you walk with those things swinging so far and wide between your thighs?

I voted no. I think Cat and Marquis doing a good job. It doesn't really matter who is the moderator, there will always be people who disagree with opinion of someone else and there will always be discussion about it and I think its okay.

This forum is one of the best I ever saw and am actively posting on. I don't have any need for new moderators, I think the two we have doing just fine. :rose:

I voted yes. Why? Because I wanted to. My posts as of late seem to piss everyone off, so I think it's better left at that.

Why do you think your posts cause others to be pissed off with you?
You may be on to something here. Do you often exhibit such behavioral patterns offline as well?

Hmm..I would imagine it's because I tend to state my opinion without worrying about who's ass I should be kissing. And yeah I'm pretty much the same way in life. I don't feel the need to go with the rest of the crowd even if it means I won't be liked.

But why are you and your Ohio friends so mean to the newbies who pass through here? Have you already forgotten what asses y'all seemed like when others already on this forum met all of you??

Mean? Well I guess that's a matter of opinion. I haven't forgotten how people may have seen me.. I don't give a shit. I'm not here to impress anyone. Or to kiss anyone's ass. You don't like my opinions..I don't care. My feelings aren't hurt.
