Is marriage better the 2nd time around ?

In your experience, is the marriage/relationship that occurs after a major relationship failure better ? How much did you learn from your failed relationship and what got repeated in the second one that shouldn't have ?

I met my husband 11 months after breaking up with my fiance and he was only 2 months out of a 10 year marriage. Neither of us were looking for a relationship but thats what came along. During our previous relationships, I learnt not to put myself 2nd and not to take any crap and he learnt not to compromise himself for anyone. We have been together for 6 years and married for 3. We are very honest with each other and our "rule" is "Whatever you can do, so can I."
I would like to think that I have learnt something form all my previous relationships - I'd hate to make the same mistake repeatedly!!
