I am a male and just started shaving my private area again, I shave everyday to keep the hairs down less itch that way. Was wondering if there is a cream of a gel that I can put on after that will make it nice and smooth almost like an after shave?

I'm not male (obviously), but I just use regular lotion. Combine that with daily shaving and your itching problems should disappear relatively quickly. :)

When I shave every day I have no problem I can get really close with the razor. Only got a little itchy when I let it go a day. But just want to know is if I use like a lotion after the everyday shave something that will not burn or cause irritations. THank you

I've heard some women here mention a Jergen's Hair Inhibiting lotion. That might work and slow the regrowth.

It does work, but you have to use it every day, and the results aren't immediate.

Ok THanks! I will look into it go to the store and buy some.
You might have to look a bit to find it. Some stores have it with the lotions; others keep it with the shaving products.

I bought it at CVS, and it was with the Nair and similar products, which wasn't with the razors.

I am also using a regular razor with 3 blades? Should I use the razors more made for a woman?

I use men's: Schick Quattro Power, and sometimes the Gillette Sensor Excel. Women's are usually the same, just different colors, sometimes a little thinner/curvier, or have a slightly modified feature. You should be fine with yours.

Generic hydrocortisone cream is great after shaving. It reduces inflammation, soothes, and a little goes a long way (so you're not all wet/slick). You can get it in the pharmacy section, and it's especially cheap at stores like Costco and Walmart.

You may also want to consider with an oil or silicone product like baby oil, Neutrogena Bath Oil, or silicone lube. I mix a little in with my shaving cream/conditioner/gel, and after rinsing and patting dry, there's just enough oil left to moisturize and protect (the silicone lube's feels silky and has no smell or taste).

I use a Mach 5, same one I use on my face and it works great. Now I haven't shaved my balls in months, but I have a vacation coming up and thought I might give it another whirl. The wife digs it, what can I say. Anyways I digress. Recently SweetEricka has gotten me addicted to silicone lube. It's great forsex, massage, hell I 'm even gonna try it on a squeaky door hinge. Ive never tried it in place of shaving gel, but I'll try anything once. And when you're done, you're alaready lubed up for whatever may come about when you waltz out to sow off your shiney new scrotum! :D

the only difference I've noticed with women's razors is color and maybe a handle thats meant to not slip in a soapy bath, the venus and mach 3 had the same head last time I checked.

I was getting really close with the men's razor, and I use normal shaving cream I just have in one of those shaving cream warmers. Like I said above I shave everyday in the shower to keep it clean. Other the weekend had some great sex we where both shaved to oral was great. She was suprised that I was shaved and liked it.

Found something!

After looking at several website' I found some that told me how to get really close and good shave. I still shave almost ever day or ever other day, but still wasn't getting a nice and smooth. Until now, I found Jergen's Naturally smooth Shave minimizing moisturizer!

It says within 4 to 8 weeks of use it will make shaving faster, easier and less often. So far its only the second day but I will keep you all up to date.

I've just used basic moisturiser before, and it seems to do the trick for me. Also, personally, the more I shave, the less itching and irritation I get. I don't get a huge amount anyway, but it would seem that the skin 'learns' what happens and adapts to it. Or something like that.
