Is this the coat closet for the GB?

It's after Memorial Day. Shirt tails will only be tucked in for formal events or for workplace safety until after Labor Day.

Four days of fun in Leipzig, Germany

In addition to the Victorian picnic, WGT hosts Renaissance fairs, fetish events, film premieres, and Viking and Pagan markets, to name a few.

The month of March has lingered through June. There was the scent of snow on the air, this week. Diving straight into a three day heatwave, that will replicate the dog days of August. The ocean reflects reality - 52f.

One, last, perfect Autumn day in Boston. Sunny and cool. Crisp breeze. Gaggles of younglings, obeying the cold weather law. Walk faster, quick movements, and much chattering.

Wearing more, wearing layers, the groupings identify themselves. Summer has come to a sudden end.

“Oh, my sweet summer child," Old Nan said quietly, "what do you know of fear?"

"Fear is for the winter, my little lord,
when the snows fall a hundred feet deep
and the ice wind comes howling out of the north."

"Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides its face for years at a time,
and little children are born and live and die all in darkness
while the direwolves grow gaunt and hungry,
and the white walkers move through the woods”

― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones

Before sundown- 42f

Down vest, long underwear, light winter coat with fake fur lining, with hood, gloves.

The month of September has lingered through November. This weekend will be a dive into the harshest days of Winter cold.

Small prop plane made a low pass over the trees, while I was warming myself in the sunlight. The wind died down enough, that I was not worried for the pilot.

I jumped the gun.

I was over dressed.

Microfiber loop scarf, microfiber head band, gloves, down car coat, puffy vest, L.L.Bean insulated boots.

I had left the house in the late afternoon. I counted on the temperature dropping like a rock, after the sun had set. It did not. I sat outside, at 7 in the evening, with my vest unzipped. I was wearing thermal lined pants and long underwear.

It stubbornly held onto 50f.

The cool air did not penetrate the thick thermal waffle weave, and two cotton long sleeve shirts.

The local Boston weather annnouncer makes the suggestion that the viewer "leave your Winter coat at home." Unseasonably warm for this time of year.

The day before the last day of Fall. 60-65f

I dressed light, but wore wind breaker coat and pants. Crisp breeze and warm sun. Like an April day ? (Indecisive ?)

Today was chilly. Not a good day for splashing.

Where's my jacket?

I know I left it here.

I have the ticket and everything.

Perfect, sunny weather for shopping in Boston, today. The young women were showing off their pretty, sexy boots. A good day for showing off.

You would have never known that it was winter. No mess. No cold. Nothing falling from the sky.

I am hoping that more anoraks will be available after the holidays. High end shells are of no use to me. I need slush-proof!

A couple more days, and the daylight hours start increasing!

Perhaps, there are ancient hunter's cloaks in the climate controlled part of the Cloak Room.

A dark night, for cloak and poniard (dagger).

The night air was mild, warm, and soft. I was outside in my pajamas and fleece. Tomorrow, rain coat and umbrella.

Tomorrow night it will be cold and snowing. Put my coat, gloves, hat, and winter boots on, and shovel more snow. (No, I will not be naked under all of that. Long underwear , sweaters, and ski pants. I lost my good ski gloves. Oh, well.)

I suppose, that a section of the cloakroom should have a closed booth for drysuits. Yesterday, was a day for waterproof clothing. Plenty of slush.

In Boston, the young people have become impatient with lingering Winter. They have left their dreary, heavy Winter coats in the cloak room.

*tip of the hat, to zumi*

Rebellion!

They insist on fresh.

Many new, broken umbrellas are proof of the battle. Shields against snow and sleet.

Freedom!

Noor, he left a bit more.

Very cool! I had heard a rumor that such a thing was found, but not that it was going to be published, how exciting!

I miss waking up late on Sundays and watching his weekly video and reading his words. It was a routine, Evening Hours and On the Street.

Noor, That might mean there are videos stored somewhere on youtube.

I cannot remember when I started seeing his photographs in the NYT.

I was sad, when Andy Warhol died. Interview just was not the same, without him. He was born when it was possible to be born at home, and not have anyone know when you were born, exactly. If he was still alive he would be 90, or so.

Spring has arrived, and the laptop demands cooler air. It will be interesting to see what people will be wearing. It seems odd, that it might hit 90F, this week, or after the holiday. I used my electric blanket recently, because I had a fitful sleep from the suddenly cold night, and woke from the cold morning. Not long afterward, I slept with light covers, but still woke with the covers kicked off. The night had suddenly turned warm.

This, being New England, has an open closet. Snow in our quaint but dangerous mountain during the summer. Sudden cold nights in July. I do not know if there are still silk velour or cotton velour cloaks for chilly days. Everything seems to be made of artificial fibers, now.

I miss my silk velvet cloak.

The nytimes website still has his videos up. It got very hot at home last week, but I am further south where its been quite cold.

I still wear wool and silk velvet, cotton lawn and linen in the summer

The cloakroom may need a cast iron bath tub. Spring is ending on an unruly note. A few of places on the dartboard, were hit by water spouts and tornadoes.

Bath and Lincoln, in New Hampshire, had the major cell.

Followed the New Tornado Alley East route.

I should have new wellies, but then did not have them in my size.

Clever mosquito. What did I wear during a Heat Wave ? Silk skirt. Where did I get bitten ? On my doorstep, while I unlocked the door. I stooped down to re-capture the bag handles. I need a half-slip crinoline, made of mosquito mesh.
