Is this the coat closet for the GB?

The last roses on the bushes will not survive this hard freeze. I wore my hiking boots, yesterday. Is it time to say good-bye to bare feet ?

Winter birds have returned. Summer heat and drought was too much for them. The Cardinals stayed a long while, until they gave up. Blue Jays were first to return. Nuthatch, Chickadees, and Titmice, are banded together.

Freezing temps by morning. The young women will bundle their dresses under warm coats. They have been wearing calf height boots, this week. Ugg weather! *laughing*

Transition season-
Last night was kind to the younglings in their Halloween costumes. I was led to believe it might be another ice-cold Halloween.

There have been Halloween nights, in winter coats, with hats, scarves, and mittens. A Halloween costume with Winter boots! Snowflakes.

But, not this night.

We had another warm reprieve day, today. I checked my coat pockets for gloves before I left. I did not wear a back pack for the excess layers. The cheerful un-carved pumpkins were joined by fall squashes and gourds. The Halloween ghosts, goblins, monsters, and spider webs, were put away for next year. So many butter-gold leaves on the trees.

The winter roses are lovely. So sweet, still in bud form. The Arctic Blast will prevent them from unfurling.

Any fool couples indulging in drunken folly during this American holiday/Day of Mourning, will risk losing delicate bits.

I could have lost My Ogre Husband on such an occasion. His folly was he could not resist his own history. All I could do is cry out in distress.

The police arrived and told us to get-the-fuck off of the river ice.

We sheepishly clumped onto the riverbank, and removed our skates.

Coldest November day in a 100 years, for Boston.

I did not purchase battery-operated heated hoodies and sweat pants. We were having very active lightning storms, at the time.

But, I did buy heated gloves.
