Yeah, it doesn't look like you have to worry until maybe Thursday when it heads back across to the Atlantic. On the good side I spent some time cooking a few things yesterday and today so we have ready to grab food if there's no power. It's been popping on and off all day with wind gusts so I expect to lose it in the overnight hours.

Aww, shucks. Thanks, Dave. Hope you survived the ice storm without too much damage. Seeing some of the cousin's pics, the tree damage was heartbreaking and will take years to recover.

We still have power but water is rising since the rain hasn't let up.

I've got about 3 more inches before water enters the laundry room entry just off the carport. The carport has over 1" standing already. They're predicting at least 2 more inches in the next couple of hours.

Crossing my fingers!

PS. Is it wrong that I'm pissed I can't get any pics because it's so dark? My mother would be so proud. LOL

LOTS of water. We never lost power but the water was higher than any previous hurricane. We had a couple of inches to spare for it to enter the house so we got lucky. It will take awhile to recede as the backyard still has a couple of inches covering the entire yard this morning but the front has already receded to about halfway down the driveway. It remains to be seen if we open the office this afternoon as its closer to the ocean.

Glad you didn’t lose power. And isn’t it funny? I feel like anytime I’ve ever lost power in a tropical storm+ it’s been at night. Even if it cuts across I’m not really worried about Eta doing much damage.
