Why don't they do an actual story instead of trying to hack bits and pieces out of people minding their own business? Did they approach the group? Maybe some-but-not-all of the members would be aok with that.I'm just afraid of what this will do to this group. Venues will most definitely have to be changed as well as the usual date each month. I certainly don't feel safe returning until stricter measures are in place for who is admitted. And I hope that those identified get lucky and can retain their jobs, families, etc.

There are several members who can be more open in their kinkiness that are organizing legal action against the news station if they air. I made a trash email account and wrote them as you suggested (thank you for that every legal sounding pm). And I know many others are doing the same. I'm watching Fet closely for further developments.

I watched the news story. I feel like I need a shower, the fall out from this will be bad. The footage was pretty blurred but someone I love was clearly pictured, flogger in hand. The one who outed my group used it as free advertising for his facility making it seem like his was the only one operating under law. Someone from NCSF did respond and was in an interview standing up for my group and their dedication to safety. Imma eat a bottle of Tums and try to go to sleep.

I agree with some of the folks here on the video. I don't think you can just show this on tv without permission of those involved. I think it is invasion of privacy or something like that. Either way, it sucks. And with this new administration, I worry there will be morality police everywhere.

I think this counts as the first time I've actually used this thread for its titular purpose.
When I was 15 or 16, before I even would have noticed the connotation of this, I had one set of handcuffs attached to my bed for completely non-kink reasons, one of the cuffs attached to the post and the other clamped (I think) a coke can in itself. So for decorative purposes.
And for those wondering; They were decorative pieces I bought them from a pirate souvenir shop before I was even old enough to comprehend just how expensive they were. Age 9 or 10 for sure.
I wonder if that was my subconscious trying to tell me something?

I'm a privacy expert. Your rights will depend upon certain variables such as was it a hidden camera or was the camera in full view and all parties knew that they would be recorded. If it was a hidden camera and it is published without subject consent, then it falls under a federal violation. (Both subject filming as well as facility and news outlet could be subject to federal prosecution). However, any previously signed agreements at the hosting facility will dictate your rights and federal penalties could be subjegated to these agreements. If the camera was in full view and subjects knew they were being recorded, then it falls to the state level. When I last reviewed this, twelve states require mutual consent for release of content when camera is in full view.

I turned on the news this morning and saw a clip of the superintendent defending a letter he'd written to the safety of the school district. It made me feel good. I lived next to the middle/high school for the past 3 years and appreciate feedback from people in the community on their level of effort, as I'm sure was the intention. I met the dad of two of the kids I worked with yesterday and it's difficult to imagine how you would acknowledge a level of influence bigger than your work role in that situation (if you had to). I thought it was ingenious to provide some sort of official sanction, although I doubt it would make prosecuting someone any more efficient. Just that it ought to.
