In other words, a woman won some women's races. Why is this news?

you know why it's being pushed (though it may not be the intent of this particular publication others will pick up on it and run in all the wrong directions)... not content with making sure no transgender girl/woman is allowed to compete with her gender, the females (and their parents/sponsors/magat influencers) want anyone not conforming to the direct '2 sexes only recognized' trump message to be questioned as to having an 'unfair advantage'. Women come in all shapes and sizes and abilities... so any female who the losers don't think exhibits enough femininity, be they overly tall or strong or with superior stamina will come under scrutiny regarding their testosterone levels: are they female 'enough' to play with the snowflakers?

According to a report released in April by Pen America, a non-profit advocating for free speech, Florida had 3,135 book bans recorded from July 2021 to December 2023 - the highest in the country.

Pen America has said that the majority of books removed are ones that “talk about LGBTQ+ identities, that includes characters of colour, that talk about race and racism, that include depictions of sexual experiences in the broadest interpretation of that understanding”.

Among the books removed are Ernest Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls, Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye, and Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina.
