It's the 2026 Poem-a-Week Challenge (This is a *poems only* thread.)

For never

The gavel rings brings silence,
verdict ends the one sided debate.

Councils from both sides volley,
facts and truths to the closing.

When all the while the judge reigns,
the decision had already been cast.

The punishment or a tarnished gift,
no goodbye just silence this time.

Exiled can’t say truly betrayed,
the traps had already been set.

Tricked to be content at depths,
share just enough to bait the trap.

Like memory’s of snow in May,
replaced by purple flowers bloom.

Cycles change we must rearrange,
what must go and what will stay.

[Had written for a prompt, never posted this.] I hope you all enjoy this.
If only we could dare comments as well here, anyways, here is my poem.

SKIN

Thick skin, thin skin,
Are they worn the same?

Fair skin, dark skin
Do they stretch the same?

Young skin, aged skin
Do they sweat the same?

Wrinkled skin, freckled skin
Do they talk the same?

Pale skin, tanned skin
Are they kept the same?

Dull skin, smooth skin
Are they fed the same?

One skin, many skin
Why are they not the same?

This skin, that skin
What are they in life’s game?

With skin, without skin
When they are burnt the same.
