Hi,
I am a first time vibrator buyer, and am looking at buying a vibrator. I saw one site that said the Jack Rabbit was recommended for first timers. Do you guys agree/disagree with this?

Thanks for the info/opinions!

A rabbit was my first real toy. I think it's probably good for beginners because there's something for everyone: clitoral, g-spot, and vaginal/penetration stimulation. Most models are also variable speed and have controls so you can operate the functions separately, which is nice.

No matter the brand, my advice is to get one with the controls on a cord instead of the base (easier to operate alone and it's fun for a partner to control it, IMO), that takes 3 'C' batteries (I find the AA models to be woefully inadequate, but the C can go from very low to strong), and the beads should be on a track, not loose (mine are loose and don't do a lot).

I'm on my second Rabbit Habit, though the first one survived four years of heavy use. I don't understand why people think it's necessary to pay $50-100 for these things, because I've never spent more than $20, including shipping (eBay). So, if you want to give it a try without emptying your wallet, that might be a good choice.

I think the rabbit is ok as a first toy, although I wouldn't go so far as to recommend it. There are so many different motions and sensations going on at once, that if you're not familiar with vibes, might be distracting. The noise is distracting, actually.

I would recommend going with something simpler that focuses on clit or g-spot, like a bullet vibe or something.

But if you really like the rabbit, by all means, go for it! It's a lot of fun once you get it positioned right, and there are so many ways to play with it.

Even better, go out to amazon.com and search on rabbits. Last time I ordered stuff, they had a lot of 'package' selections. You can get the rabbit and three or four other vibes for pretty much the same price. That way, you can try a whole bunch of them!

Have fun. :D

I second this advice.

AND there are far better models out there as far as multi function vibes go.
what to look for:
ballberrings or pearls on a track instead of loose
japanese made motors
easy to clean
not too large *unless you like it*

Hi everyone thanks for your advice.
I ended up going with the Jack Rabbit.

I had posted and subscribed to the topic to get instant notifications and while I was browsing the toy sites i kept checking my e-mail but no mail so i didn't see that you all had replied until now after i ordered it.

It was real expensive for me, but i browsed around and got the best deal i could. I live in Canada so ordering from a canadian site was cheaper and faster delivery, but very limiting, only a few had Jack Rabbits. so i ordered and now I've read your comments, oh well, live and learn.

I hope i'll be pleased with the one I ordered, i've been debating on buying one for a long time now but the chicken part of me kept ducking out. I am not with a parter now and although I do enjoy masturbation, I have yet to even come close to an orgasm. I also bought the clitoral stimulating gel so I'm ready to have some fun and hopefuly i will enjoy my new toy.
Thank you for your thoughts and responses.!

A goor woman's website is the-Clitoris.com You will find great advice by woman for woman on masterbation. Good luck, have fun.

i have no business in this thread... having no orifice for a vibe and not personally owning the equipment... but i have to say:

i dated a girl once whose first toy was, i'm certain, not a jack RABBIT, but a jack HAMMER. i'm sure that bringing her to orgasm was a job for a union guy... not me.

Personal opinions between something like this http://www.sensualcanada.com/product.jsp?product_id=72 or a bullet vibe like this

bullet

The longer vibe will be easier for you to handle but the small one can be tucked between your lips or inside for hands free vibes.

I would recommend getting one with multi-speed vibrations. I don't know if that particular bullet has only one speed or not.

Otherwise, both will probably do the job.

So you don't have an asshole?

We have one similar to the first link you posted...the one that takes 1 AA battery, and also have one with the separate controller that takes a couple of batteries (it's multi-speed as NoraJane said). I would NOT recommend the first because the vibrations are extremely weak. We've used it for a bit of anal play, but even then it's questionable. The second is definitely more pleasureable and versatile since it can be used on a variety of areas and positions.

A good quality, multi-speed bullet (nice for versatility, and the separate controller makes adjustment a lot smoother) like this one, or if you want a longer one, I'd try this "superbullet", would be safe bets, IMO. (I link to those at Babeland specifically because I've felt them at the store and they're very good quality --some are absolute junk--, but I know you can find them at just about any reputable store.)

Edit: There's also a wide variety of bullets with different coverings and features on this page , and Freddy and Eddy have very comprehensive reviews on a few more.

Is eBay pretty discrete when shipping the toy? I'm concerned about my privacy too. I've never bought/tried a toy before, but would like to have one.

Yes, the sellers I've seen and dealt with always specify they ship in plain boxes and most of them bill under a company name that doesn't give a hint as to the merchandise. If you're concerned, just ask them before bidding, but I can't imagine any of them NOT being discrete. They all give anonymous feedback and many keep who's bidding on them private so no one sees your screenname buying sex toys, as well.

You do have to do a special registration and input a credit card number to get into the Mature Audience section, but that's anonymous basically and just for age verification (you won't be charged a penny).

You can get great deals, but I'd caution you to watch the shipping charges and ask questions if you're at all uncertain about what you might be getting. Many sellers will put something up for a penny to attract bids, only to have a ridiculous S&H charge, and won't allow you to combine shipping on multiple items, so look for sellers who are reasonable and honest about those things. Ask about dimensions, batteries, brand names, and materials if the seller doesn't list all of that in the ad.

Last I heard, you can't go through PayPal for adult items, so check the seller's billing options as well...if you have to transfer the money or get a money order through Western Union, for instance, make sure you're factoring the cost of that into the total price of the toy. However, on most things you're still getting it cheaper than you would anywhere else, so it's well worth looking into. :)

I have the same opinion about the Jack Rabbit......the clit part was good, but did not like the 'wiggle' part.......actually iy broke after about 2 or 3 uses.....lol

I'm parital to my Tera Patrick G-spot Vibe............got it at Hustler Hollywood.
