Comfort and Copulation

Woman from a rich but ignoble family takes a husband or lover from a noble family for the purposes of bearing a noble child, while her lover has been hurt in the past by not being able to understand what his partners want from him (he can’t pick up on cues and while he can follow the rules of etiquette he doesn’t understand subtleties) so he takes comfort in her direct wants and needs even if he’s not sure he wants to be a father.

Cognac and Cynocephali.

In 1810 England, a race of legendary dog-men who have long been rumored to inhabit the darkest forests, emerge to take their place in England, to the surprise of all. They are well educated, articulate and fabulously wealthy. Using said wealth they begin to enter the English aristocracy. They also begin buying up vineyards and distilleries, quietly cornering the cognac market.

Then they begin courting some of the most eligible noble women in the country, seemingly interested in the young maidens, spinsters and older widows in equal measure. The men are at first amused by it, until it becomes obvious that their women are actually interested in in such a match.
