This isn't about a comedian's ratings or a comedian's popularity with audiences. It's another breach of the government's attempts to control political and social narratives. In other words, it’s about free speech. Trump claimed in his inaugural address that he would restore freedom of speech. These actions clearly show he did not intend to do that. When did the FCC get the right to determine what is or is not funny? The FCC chair took his marching orders from the felon's comments, which suggested that no one should be able to make fun of him.
