Ducky. It was not the government. The first amendment is safe.I am not associated with 'Ducky' nor a 'ducky wannabe.' That's your first mistake in posting your not-so-funny jab.
This isn't about a comedian's ratings or a comedian's popularity with audiences. It's another breach of the government's attempts to control political and social narratives. In other words, it’s about free speech. Trump claimed in his inaugural address that he would restore freedom of speech. These actions clearly show he did not intend to do that. It is one among thousands of lies told to date.
When did the FCC get the right to determine what is or is not funny? The FCC chair took his marching orders from the felon's comments, which suggested that no one should be able to make fun of him. That's what started these questionable actions against companies. Threats that the FCC might have to step in and take action. The fear factor stepped in, and the associations with Comedians went out the window in favor of corporate dollars. That's called coercion, the acts of mob bosses shaking down merchants to get their way. Trump gloats tonight and gleefully said others should face the same fate... but that's up to the chair, he said. Typical mob boss response. Wash his hands and give the hit job to an underling, knowing he would march to his drumming words. Trump's laughing, but there is no comedy in violating or suppressing freedom of speech.
Www.lastnighton.com says, "In its review of the second quarter numbers, Jimmy Kimmel Live averaged 1.7 million total viewers, making it the second most-watched show in its 11:35 pm time slot and the third-most-watched late-night program behind Gutfeld and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." Indicating he is number three... not a bad place to be, despite Trump's claims about abysmally low ratings.
There is something seriously wrong with individuals who don't see this as governmental infringement on the free press, social media, and individuals' rights. Trump has jumped the rails. God help Americans: the good, the bad, and the comedians.
Maybe they will look at it as a monopoly. That is a lot of ad dollars. And contracts too. The local channel feed in cable is via the nexstar Tegna Sinclair…..Allowance for being above current allowance
Not true. It's dripping away like an ice cream cone on hot Augusta day. You just are not capable of see it. Must be MAGA influencer factors or... you think it's okay for the felon to destroy jobs because they make fun of him.Ducky. It was not the government. The first amendment is safe.
You guys really miss ole Charlie, don't you?The asshole leftists who say the most disgusting things that any real human would abhor do not deserve the recognition of a direct response.
They spout nothing but easily debunked lies, and they somehow envision themselves as 'worthy opponents?'
No. Worthy opponents are open to debate, which can be rewarding for both sides of an issue. You leftard fucks are just children crying the same bullshit over and over.
How is that father’s first amendment dripping away? What did he say against the government and the government react? Nexstar, Sinclair and abc/disney are not the government. This is not about the first amendment. I wish he would try to make a case for the first amendment. The lesson Disney gives him would be extreme entertainment. They could sell pay-per-view for it.Not true. It's dripping away like an ice cream cone on hot Augusta day. You just are not capable of see it. Must be MAGA influencer factors or... you think it's okay for the felon to destroy jobs because they make fun of him.
The administration threatened action and the network was coerced to action .Maybe they will look at it as a monopoly. That is a lot of ad dollars. And contracts too. The local channel feed in cable is via the nexstar Tegna Sinclair…..
In the end the broadcaster determined what was on abc was not representative. Here it looks like all the libs here don’t like the rules broadcasters police themselves by.
Speculating what the fcc will do is as unpredictable [follow the money] as how the SEC makes calls on mergers.
KZOK, FM 102.5 thought it was, and that's all that counts.I didn't take offense, ABC did!
What Kimmel said was neither the "truth" or a "joke". He blamed the Maga movement and maliciously claimed that the assassin was a Maga conservative. All the evidence submitted confirms the assassin was on the left and hated Charlie Kirk. Kimmel deliberately tried to deceive people, so that to most people (other than Democrats) is a lie.Nice try blaming it on low ratings. Kimmel was the number two show in that time slot.
His ratings only slipped 2.3 %. He still had millions of viewers.
Nothing he said was offensive. Trump and his magas just can't handle either the truth or a joke !
You're seemingly okay with the FCC chair saying that if the companies didn't can him for belittling the president, then the FCC would have to step in and take action? This is from the man who said other shows would be targeted as well. This is a governmental-level threat of censorship. You haven't a clue about the context for Trump's hurt feelings being acted upon by an underling abusing his control over corporations seeking to expand their businesses. It is NOT about business; it is about stifling speech that Trump is unhappy with. Narcissistic behavior with targeted retribution, exactly as Trump said he was.How is that father’s first amendment dripping away? What did he say against the government and the government react? Nexstar, Sinclair and abc/disney are not the government. This is not about the first amendment. I wish he would try to make a case for the first amendment. The lesson Disney gives him would be extreme entertainment. They could sell pay-per-view for it.
As usual Radicalized democrats can’t read the tea leaves. The wind is shifting. The sails are filling and the boat is lurching to starboard. The media landscape isn’t what it was in 2016. What could be ignored then will not be now.
I’m not surprised they didn’t see this coming. A lot of us on the right didn’t either, but the correction to normality, or what used to pass for normal is happening. That the left is so pissed they’re shooting us in the streets is telling.
Also..... do the libturds realize that that festering puss filled boil of a failing late night show "host" has a net worth of over 50 million dollars?.... f@#k him !....Kimmel committed the cardinal sin of comedy...............he wasn't funny.
To repeat myself, Kimmel running his mouth was just what the network needed to can his money losing ass. It's just that simple.
Also..... do the libturds realize that that festering puss filled boil of a failing late night show "host" has a net worth of over 50 million dollars?.... f@#k him !....
Well, that’s actually the opposite of what’s happening.…
Look for more of this as American conglomerates (media or otherwise) become unafraid of the weak left.
Where were these voices of outrage when FOX canned Carlson????
Carlson is prospering with his podcasts I'm sure Kimmel can do the same, right?
That's a chicken-shit thing to do - write in your own quote and pretend it was mine. Cowardly and stupid. You do know that there's an arrow to take you to the original quote, right? You're demented.
Spoken like a true believer. MAGA FCC chairman accusations/pressure/threat and billion dollar media deals had nothing to do with the decision to pull Kimmel, and Colbert for that matter. It’s not a matter of free speech. Nexstar is licensed to broadcast abc and determined its view base found the comments inappropriate. ABC pulled the show from cable too. Sinclair broadcast license holder for the majority of abc affiliates followed suit.
Is abc pulling the show a violation of the first amendment? How? ABC is not the government, nor is nexstar or Sinclair. So where is it you think we are headed? What did maga have to do with it?
I forget who is buying who nexstar or Sinclair, but this will sweeten the deal. Broadcaster influencing what affiliates broadcast.
