He did not break a law or trip anything legal. He spoke the exact opposite of the accused after a day passed after they read him the charges. The broadcaster saw him as a liability and chose not to broadcast his show. Disney followed their lead and pulled the show off abc which prevented it from airing on cable and satellite distribution.

When you view events through a solid wall placed around your mind and sensibilities, it can be difficult for you to discern what really happened.

Kimmel crossed a line. A line which corporate advertisers and affiliated station owners objected to his crossing. That is sufficient for him to get temporarily suspended.

It doesn't matter if you agree or not about what he said/did because it's not your call, it's ABC's. They decided he wasn't worth the immediate revenue loss and potential liability risk.

The most interesting part is that if Kimmel had been your coworker on your regular job, he'd have been fired and you wouldn't be saying squat about it. Because all of us understand that you don't fuck over the boss or the company and remain employed.
