Where they're wrong is that what he said wasn't an opinion. It was a direct lie. Saying the killer was from "Maga" when all the facts are that he was from the far left. That is a lie and not free speech.

The Sinclair Business Group is a majority owner of ABC affiliates and they pulled the plug on him for lying. His chance to come back is based on him apologizing for lying, apologizing to Kirk's family and making a donation to both the family and Turning Point USA. he does that, he's back on the air. SBG also wants a meeting with execs to talk about accountability for their boadcasters.

In other words, they're finally putting a stop to using a platform to blatantly lie.
