John McCain has brain cancer

I was surprised McCain ran again last year, because once you're reelected to the Senate at 80, any chance you had of ever having a retirement you can really enjoy goes out the window. I guess he likes being a senator more than I realized.

McCain's reputation as a maverick dates back to some of his magnanimous remarks about forgiving war protestors, and speaking out on behalf of normal relations with Vietnam (Clinton couldn't have done it without McCain giving him cover). But he's been a pretty conventional Republican, especially after the Supreme Court put an end to his days as a campaign finance crusader. The people most upset about his illness must be the producers of the Sunday shows, which I assume he's appeared on more over the years than anyone else in world history.

This is an almost impossible disease to beat, leaving aside that he's 80. My wife reminded me about McCain's strange line of questioning at the Comey hearing last month, which prompted a lot of jokes but also some concern that he might have a problem. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

I don't change my opinions of people because of their ailments or afflictions. I'm neutral on McCain except for the Palination of America he caused.

If this were Mitch (as I hope it will be one day soon), I'd be celebrating.

Oh well, cancer or not, McCain just came out strongly against Trump halting support for the Syrian islamofascist opposition to Assad. Really, he's a Democrat in all but name. Shame he didn't retire last go round to enjoy his last year or two with his family. As it is, from some of these bizarre statements he's making, looks like that brain cancer's getting to him. Be better for everyone if he just stepped down now and concentrated on his family and his battle with cancer.

I am no fan of Senator McCain, his politics and my own are very much opposed. But no one can deny the sacrifice he made in remaining a POW when the Vietnamese were willing to release him, based on his father's rank and title. He kept to the code, so to speak.

He sure did.

That smell of shit is the Breitbart sewer being spewed from the brown shirt "Chloe's" piehole.

ISIS was pinned down on four sides by four separate factions. The "Syrian islamofascist opposition" are in fact Kurdish partisans. Halting support for them gives ISIS a way out to hide from certain annihilation. The reason Trump halted support was because Turkey feared (probably true) that the Kurdish partisans would wipe out ISIS and then use their weapons to carve a Kurdish republic out of Turkey.

McCain votes with Trump 90.5% of the time, so that makes him a "Democrat in all but name"?

Are you SURE you weren't homeschooled?

Holy shit: "Chemtrail Kelli" Ward just said that 1) McCain ought to resign immediately; and that 2) now that there's a vacancy and all, I'd be the perfect replacement.

Given everything that's happened the last couple of years, I'm reluctant to say she just dynamited her entire political career, but I can't imagine that will go over well.

She's so right. Love to see her elected. One less RINO

Go on, tell us what you really think.

Lol. That's funny. She's got a real sense of humor. Anyhow, Breitbart? Naaaah, I take my cues from Stormfront and just check Breitbart and Red State for the details.

Btw, I like the black shirts better. Suits my complexion and we all know those Brownshirts were nasty evil socialists. And brown + Chinese? No. Just, no.

Hoping McCain forces the issue and holds out for as little long as he can. Payback for Trump's statements about "heroes" and all those who allowed Trump a pass on that

How many "bills" will Trump continue to sign?

I still say we should have intercepted shithead's plane when we had the chance and forced him down outside Turkey thereby helping the Coup succeed. We wouldn't be dealing with yet another Islamic Dictator.

Or because Putin told him to at their secret G20 meeting--you know, where they had a nice chat about "adoption."

Come on, get with the Breitbart program.

The "Skinny Repeal" bill on health care has just been defeated on McCain's "No" vote.

Republican push to gut Obamacare ends in defeat for Trump

In a stinging blow to President Donald Trump, U.S. Senate Republicans failed on Friday to dismantle Obamacare, falling short on a major campaign promise and perhaps ending a seven-year quest by their party to gut the healthcare law.

Voting in the early hours, three Republican senators, John McCain, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, crossed party lines to join Democrats in a dramatic 49-to-51 vote to reject a “skinny repeal” bill that would have killed some parts of Obamacare.

“This is clearly a disappointing moment,” Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said on an eerily quiet Senate floor right after the vote. “The American people are going to regret that we couldn’t find a better way forward.”

Trump’s failure sent the dollar down against a basket of other currencies on Friday.

Seven fucking years, and the Rethuglicans still don't have a plan, Mitch.
