KeithD - hoping all is well

We haven’t heard from @KeithD since November 13th. It’s definitely not like him to be absent so long.

Hoping all is well!
His profile was updated yesterday. I don't know what it said before, so I don't know what's changed. There's a fair amount of info about different Lit and Amazon author names.

Yeah, it was. It's something at least. I just hope it was actually him 🫤

I'm waiting to hear back from a former Litster who know his real identity. Hopefully soon; she hasn't been in touch with him for quite a while.

Let’s hope so. There’s a “was” in the updated profile though. That’s a bit disconcerting since (a) if it was him writing, we know he wouldn’t make an error like that, so it couldn’t have been him (there’s a sci-fi story there somewhere) and (b) if it wasn’t him writing, then it’s a bad sign since it wasn’t him and it said “was.”

On a more philosophical note, if he has moved on, he did reach quite an advanced age, and based on his rarely (if ever) complaining about his life, he seems to have enjoyed the life he led. Hopes and/or cheers.

It reads the exact same, and I couldn't find anything different in it.

Strange

There's a "could" in there too, implying that one can no longer subscribe to the wordpress blog. If it doesn't mean that, it would be a strange and un-KeithD-like usage of "could" (though not necessarily incorrect).

IIRC, at one stage he had plans to hang up his hat once he'd posted 1001 stories under that profile. I think the past tense may have been added at that point, before he decided to keep going, rather than just now. But I won't swear to it.

I went looking way back to check, since I didn’t know for sure. There (the wayback machine,) it said “is”, on July 16th, 2024. (Bolding added by me.)

“For the information of the GM reader, KeithD is the new account name for stories (many of which are published to the marketplace under the names habu and Dirk Hessian) that were previously posted to Literotica under the name sr71plt. The sr71plt account had a goal of 1,001 posted stories, which has been reached. A blog discussion background on the sr71plt/KeithD stories can be subscribed here: …”

If memory serves me (I’m reasonably sure it is) the 1000 story milestone was while he was still mainly publishing as sr71pilot. (That account today has 1033 stories, but the 1000th was some time back.) Then one day KeithD was his main account for his time here on the AH.

The "was" may simply be because he started posting stories to SR71's account again. That section is talking about all his work moving to KeithD, and that's no longer the case.

Someone logging into the account suggests that we may learn something soon.

This now says "could."

It kinda feels like someone else is making those changes, someone who wants to convey something and doesn't want to delve deeper or maybe doesn't even know about the forum and Keith's presence on it... I am sad to say it but I doubt we will hear from Keith again :(

He mentioned when he'd had back surgery that took him out for a while. But there's been no sign of him since July of this year.

RIP Keith.

I was saddened to hear this news, albeit not unexpected.

We had an up and down relationship in the brief time we knew each other, and I managed to upset him on more than one occasion.

However, our last PMs, not so long before his disappearance, were warm, and he was very kind about the subject we discussed. I’m glad we parted on much better terms.

Emily
