Also, both Alberta and Quebec provincial governments are right now taking steps to secede from Ottawa. This is a direct consequence of Liberal Party and NDP leadership asserting globalism over the interests of the Canadian people.

Or, to put it another way, this is the people telling their government leaders that they're seriously fucking up.

The saddest part is that, like all fascist governments, the Canadian government isn't listening to the people while telling that it's for their own good to be oppressed and abused by their government.

Lower threshold for holding a referendum... is very different than what you originally claimed about secession... lowering the number of signatures required to initiate a referendum may provide an opportunity to hold a binding referendum while the majority of Albertans would like to remain in Canada.
