Knuckleball (Closed)

"I don't know I liked the way we were able to sit down and talk earlier today. I had fun so how about we have more times like that." He moved out of the shower taking her with her holding her tightly.

He sat on their bed waiting for her to return. He was anxious hoping she would come back. He heard her car pull up, but decide not to run and check just wait until she got inside. Not sure to even ask where she has been.

"I can do that." She said "I'm sorry I've been freaking out so much." Bella just held onto him, not sure what to do now.

She walked into the spare bedroom, sitting down on the floor. Slowly she started going through the bag pulling out diapers, a baby blanket, and a teddy bear among other things. For awhile she just sat there staring at everything.

"I understand, but I think we should we get change. Don't you think." He looked down at her seeing her hold him tight.

He heard her footsteps come down the hall, but not to the room instead the guess room. He stood up silently not making a sound. Hearing bags moved he peaked seeing baby stuff in front of her. "That's where you went why didn't you tell me. I would have gone with you."

"Yeah, your probably right." She said letting go an grabbing her own towel and drying off a little more before going into the bedroom and looking through the closet.

"I didn't know that's where I was going. I was just driving and next thing I knew I was in the parking lot." She stood up "we are going to have to go back sometime. I ran out of money... Do you know how expensive babies are? I didn't even gets crib or changing table or any of that stuff."

He followed her into the closet. Getting a shirt then he went to the drawers getting change to some clean clothes. "So what's the plan now? You still want to go to the beach later."

He smiled knowing her mother instincts kicking. He walked up to her hugging her. "Yeah they are really expensive. I should have enough money to fill the nursery. That was pretty nice for you to go get things for the baby, but we don't know if the kid is a boy or a girl."

"Yeag, I still want to go." She said picking out some clothes and getting dressed. "Is there anything else that you need to get done before you leave?"

"Don't worry I made sure that everything I got was gender neutral. It'll work either way." She said "I didn't buy clothes or anything. I don't expect you to pay for everything. I'm going to keep working so I will have more money soon."

"No I don't have anything. Everything is pack and I'll be ready for flight." He walked up to her picking her up in a hug giving a gentle kiss. " I say we walk along the beach come home and cuddle together for the rest of the night."

"I know that your not going depend on me when it comes to money. That was smart picking up the neutral items first. I guess I'll pay for the furniture of the baby if you don't mind.' He smiled at her admirng the mature way she was handling this. "See I told you that your going to be a great mom. You already have a headstart."

"I agree." She said looking up at him "that sounds nice... I'm just going to grab a sweater and then we can go." She said going over to the dresser.

"You should have seen the way the people there where looking at me. They knew this wasn't planned. They all just looked at me like I was some slut who happened to get knocked up by some guy." She said crying.

"Alright I'll wait for you downstairs." He walked out of the room heading for the living room.

He hated seeing her cry especially since it involved their baby. He hugged her comforting her tightly. "They don't know that and even if it wasn't planned doesn't make you a slut. Your a woman who was given the gift of a child they were only jealous knowing how much joy you were going to have with a baby."

She grabbed a loose white sweater quickly slipping it on over her tank top before going downstairs. "Are you ready?" She asked heading for the door.

"I can't do this without you. You can't leave." She said "why can't you just stay here? I need you..."

He walked over to her she looked nice in the sweater. "Yeah let's go." He opened the door for her gesturing her to walk out first.

"I know I wish I could stay, but it's my job. I don't know maybe I can call my coach tell him my girlfriend. Give me a few games off until they come back. I don't want to leave you in this state." He asked her maybe her team would understand.

She smiled walking out "it's a little far to just walk, maybe we should drive. Do you want to take my car or yours?" She asked.

"He wound give you time off for your girlfriend..." She said "and we need the money. I can't take you away from it, that's not what you want, you love your job. You should go, even though I don't want you too."

"Hmm.. Let's take yours." He said he would have drive, but he had forgotten his keys inside. "Do you want to drive or should I?"

"I don't want to leave, but I know your right. I'll try to get a flight on Saturday after the game." He took a deep breath thinking about her well being. "You'll be ok right? Call me if you need anything or to talk."

"I'll drive." She said going to her car and getting inside. She started to drive once he was in as well. "This is it..." She said as she parked the car near the beach.

"I'll be fine. What's the worst that could happen." She gave him a quick kiss "are we still going to dinner? Or do you have stuff you need to do?" She asked.

He kept looking at her during the drive checking her out. The trip was fast getting out of the car he walked around to meet her outside of her side. "So this the beach. Come on let's go."

He was kind of relieved that she would be fine. "Yeah we can if you want? We can go wherever you want my treat." He replied to her question. "After today I think we could both get out the house."

She followed him, kicking off her shoes when her feet hit the sand. "So what did you want to do?" She asked looking over at him.

"How about you decide and I'll start getting ready. You know how long I take..." She said "plus I have to go dig around for my clothes and such." She said walking out of the room.

"What do you mean like what we are going to do here I thought we would just walk?" Taking his shoes off near the sidewalk so sand wouldn't get in.

"Ok I'll start looking in minute go get change." Watching her leave he stood in the room a minute. Looking at the emptiness and baby stuff on the floor he questioned himself for the first time if he would make a good father. He left looking at restaurants through his phone. "You want to eat at some Mexican Italian place."

"Alright, stupid question...." She said as she started walking down closer to the water "I haven't been to a beach since I was a kid."

"I don't like Mexican food." She called out as she curled her hair in their bathroom "so I guess Italian." She quickly finished her hair and makeup before going to all of her stuff and searching for something to wear.

He walked behind her hugging as the water moved near their feet. He smiled at her comment that it wasn't something she had done recently. "I haven't even been at this beach I just saw it when I was driving thinking it would be nice."

He remember the punch at the Italian restaurant. He choose a different place that had type of food still downtown though. "I called we have reservations." He yelled from the room getting change into a proper attire. Button long shirt with black dress pants and matching shoes.

"My cousin and I used to go the beach all the time when we where younger... I haven't seen her in years." She said relaxing against him.

"Thanks... I'm almost ready." She said finally finding what she was looking for. She pulled on the lingering he had mentioned early and the red dress that was his favorite. Grabbing her heels she walked into their room "so are you set to go?" She asked slipping them on.

The night had a cool breeze that wasn't freezing. He listen to her story about her and her cousin. "You should see her maybe reunite after these years." He rested his head on her moving his arms over hers.

He looked to see her standing putting her heels on. He was in awe he never really checked her out because it never matter before as they only had sex. Now she was sexy in the red dress he loved and everything just made his jaw drop. "You look beautiful... I'm ready lets go."

"I'm not sure about that. She changed in high school... We haven't spoken since then. I doubt she would want to." She sighed "she's not a bad person, a bit promiscuous..."

"Um... Thanks, you look great too." She said walking out "I'm assuming that you're driving." She said heading to his car.

"Then you should get to know here. I mean what's her name? Maybe we can find her." He asked knowing this would be something nice to do for Bella to meet her cousin again.

"Yeah of course." He got into his car still being effected by her looks. He drove to the place parking he walked out waiting for her. "By the way thank you for wearing the dress I like. Let's go eat I'm hungry."

"I don't know. Who knows what Natasha is like now..." She said running her hand over his arm before holding onto his hand "I doubt she wants to see me."

"Your welcome." She said following him inside "I figured I should wear it now while I still can."

His heart stopped when she said her name. It couldn't be the same woman sure they lived in the same city when they were younger, but maybe she moved. He had to keep the act up though. "I guess your right she might not even be here anymore."

The waiter brought them to the table giving them water and menus. "Well I'm glad that you did. It makes the night more special. So I forgot or maybe I did already, but have you thought about any baby names?"
