Knuckleball (Closed)

He lifted his head and listened for any more noise in the museum. "That depends," he suggested as his hands slid along her back. "Do you have another exhibit to show me? And do you mind if this dress gets a little wrinkled."

"You can look around more some other time. But why would my dress get wrinkled?" She asked "what exactly are you thinking? I think everyone's gone home..."

His hands moved to the top of her dress, and found the zipper. "You can stop me if you want, but did you ever wonder what it would feel like to be in this place naked?" He started to pull the zipper downward, slowly and deliberately.

"We're in a building with a lot of valuable items... There are cameras all over..." She said moving away from him "this is not the place for that. In your bed is one thing but here? We can't. I won't." She said trying to fix her zipper.

Raising his eyebrows somewhat drone her comment he let her go. "Alright," he agreed, "then when we are finished cleaning up. My bed." He was half joking, but pulled back sliding his arm around her again. "But I could show you my place first, before I say something else stupid."

"Let's go..." She said "the janitors will clean some and I'll just come in early and finish stuff up." Bella said trying not to sound too nervous "so... I guess it's just up to you...what do you want to do?"

"Let's head back to my place," he replied not really believing how good this is going. "You like wine? Because I have a bottle of .. White, something. And I have beer too if you will drink that." He took her hand and led her to the door and out on the street. It wasn't far but he nearly was worried she would change her mind.

"The wine sounds fine..." She said looking at the ground "just because I'm doing this doesn't mean I'm going to have sex with you... We haven't even been on a date and I...I'm a..." Bella stumbled over her words "well I don't just have sex with guys I've just met..."

They kept walking down the street, and while the idea floated there he sort of understood. "Then wine then," he agreed with a comforting smile. "Hey, and look at us, walking down the street where we met." He put his arm around her waist as they walked. He did it not as much to pull her close like he did before, but he like the feeling of walking with her like this - like they were a real couple.

"So what are your plans for me?" She asked "are you just going to keep trying to get me naked in the museum? Or do you just want to have sex with me? Or what? What am I to you? What are we doing?"

"Just wine, Bella," he said with a smile as they approached the upstairs garage apartment. "You don't even have to consider this our first date if you want." He offered his hand as they reached the stairs, "and it's okay if your rather wait."

She took his hand following him inside "I didn't mean just tonight..." She said "I want to know where you want this to go Ken..." Bella watched him carefully trying to figure out what he was thinking. "What do you want?"

The place was small: one room with a couch, a TV, a small stove, a fridge, and a couple chairs; then a door heading into a back room presumeably a bedroom. He pulled a bottle from the fridge, cracked it open and poured a couple glasses offering one to her. While he worked the honesty came out, "well, I won't lie that after meeting you the other night and seeing you in that dress tonight I was just hoping to get lucky. But when we started talking, and you showing me the dress, and just a nice walk home - it felt comfortable. i just like dpending time with you, because it feels nice - and that just seems to be more what I want right now."

"Thank you." She said taking the wine glass and drinking a sip "I guess I should've honest too... I've... Never had sex before..." She said before drinking more wine, and avoiding looking at him.

He pointed to the couch and took a seat at one end. "Do you, that is" he said carefully, "have a moral thing that keeps you from doing it? Or is it that you just hadn't wanted to." Shrugging a bit, "because you sure dont kiss like you never had a boyfriend. That's for sure, so am just wondering how you were able to talk the other guys into staying a virgin."

She sat down at the other end "well I've been busy with school and then work... I've never really had time for dating. It's not like I have a problem with it. The opportunity just hasn't really been there and I prefer not to just jump into bed with some guy right after meeting. "

"I guess, that made what I did back at the museum a real dick move then." He rubbed his head sheepishly. "Sorry, about that. There used to be a time I could tell a girl I was a baseball player and you could almost her the snaps of her jeans popping."

"So you've slept with a lot of women then?" She asked finishing her glass of wine "there are still plenty of women who would sleep with you just because you're a baseball player... I'm just not one of them..."

"Wouldn't say 'a lot' of women. I had a girl back in high school, back when you could say 'forever' and think you mean it," he constipated as the wine helped his openness a bit. "College was where I made my mistakes. Most girls like that, you don't really want to get to know .. You know? Not like this." He shrugged a little, "and I got a lot of respect that you know what you want."

"If you don't mind me asking... What ever happened to the girl from high school?" She asked getting up and sitting her glass back in the kitchen " why didn't it work out?"

He kicked off his shoes and sat back against the arm of the couch, watching her move gracefully though the apartment. "Looking back, it was just bullshit," he said. "We got to be arguing with each other about little things. I started thinking she was running around on me. She thought I was cheating on her." He shrugged, "when we broke up it was almost more of a relief."

"I'm sorry..." She said "it's getting really late though...I should go, it's already really dark out." She sighed "not exactly the safest to be walking around out there..."

He listened to her concern and got up from the couch. "You could stay here. I mean, no pressure or anything but ... Your welcome to the bed, and can give you one of my jerseys or something to sleep in." He looked out the window, "I know you don't have reason to trust me or anything but would rather spend a sleepless night on the couch to think I send you out there worried about what's around the corner."

"Thanks. I guess it couldn't hurt to stay here... But I'll sleep on the couch, I don't want to kick you out of your bed...it wouldn't really be fair to you." She said looking around.

He stepped into the bedroom and was pulling around some some things from drawers. He came out with a baseball jersey that was a few sizes too big for her. It had "Junction City" scrawled over the front and "Cooper" with 30 on the back.
"No," he said. "I must insist. You are my guest and I would have myself sprawled out on a big bed and you curled up on a couch. If that ever got back to my mom she would give me a smack for being so inhospitable."
