Puccini for Beginners ***½

This very bourgeois New-Yorky lesbo-bisexual comedy of errors in three distinct acts could easily have been called Sexual Ambiguity And The City. All while watching it I couldn't help but that that this is basically "Kissing Jessica Stein" meets "Sex And The City" with a dash of "Three's Company;" which is to say that it's shamelessly imitative Woody Allen's late 1970s masterpieces. Me, I like that sort of thing.

Plus, the main character's best friend was played by Jennifer Dundas, on whom I've always had something of a crush. FYI: Jennifer Dundas played Lilly "Keep Passing The Open Windows" Berry in "The Hotel New Hampshire."

Eyes Wide Shut ... hadn't seen it since it was released. Think I liked it better this time around.

Star Trek (2009)

Awesome and amazing. Best prequel I have seen.

I took the kidlet today...I have to say I loved this movie.

However, there was a trekkie in front of me as we were walking out complaining to his "wife". His complaint? Spock served under Captain Pike for 11 years before meeting James T. Kirk...everyone knows this...how could they vary from this fact so much....yada yada yada.

Wow...

Anyway, I loved it.

Yeah, but the time shift changed everyting, and if this trekkie was paying attention he would have realized all he's known is changed forever :D

I know I did.

THE HULK.....IT SUCKED:mad:

Which one? The one from last year, or the Ang Lee one from a few years ago?

Last film I watched was "The Thick of It". It made me laugh harder than anything's made me laugh for a long time.

WF

The one with Edward Notron and Liv tyler......I was never a comic book fan. Not real big on CG films, cool technology. though Lord of the Rings CG was incredible.

didn't Ang'ree (lee) do Broke back mountain:)???

Just finished Amityville Horror (remake)
It's a good little scare movie - excellent use of disturbing imagery to keep the audience on edge. Not a lot of gore, just enough to punctuate what's happening. It's a fun little horror flick

Now I'm going to go watch something silly and cheerful....

I found that the remake captured and held my attention much more than the original. Although that's partly because while i was watching it I was thinking about all the stuff I wanna do to & with Ryan Reynolds but also I felt it was more cohesive.

The first Amityville horror was jumbled because the actual events were still fresh in peoples (the flim makers, in this case) minds, and they were trying to make... I don't know - something almost biographical - which as you said, didn't flow well...

but yes, the remake has a lot of fan-service with Ryan Renolds showing off the body he got for Blade III (well, I guess one good thing came out of that movie)
