Lately I've been reading that a Democrat may challenge Obama

I predict Obama will get the nomination so long as no one more radical opposes him. The loons are hungry for a real ideologue who's guaranteed to make Rush and Sean and Ann and Sarah look like Jesus in comparison. But I expect the GOP will run some num-nutz who drools and has a facial tic and does vivisection for a hobby.

Trü dat!

I've been reading lately that self-ordained, arm-chair pundits are never nearly as clever as the believe themselves to be. This results in real life shouting and the lazy trolling of internet discussion forums.

On my own, I realized that if they had a better understanding of their immediate surroundings, they might not feel so falsely empowered by blabbering on about things they neither control, or fully comprehend.

Next.

Quite so, dear boy. Quite so.

They might even start posting nonsense about Jack Bauer, and playing games in the playground.

According to a longtime Democratic Party insider, and former advisor to the Obama election campaign and transition team, Hillary will be the presidential candidate in 2012.

Guess I need to spend more time here.
Or maybe you could send me PM alerts.
I'm one of those who can see Clinton is the race. She's not as bad as Obama, but I clearly remember the campaign speech where she promised to "manage" the economy - only a fool believes a person or administration can manage the economy.
I also remember her promise of 10 percent tax hikes on people making $200,000 or more, which is equally stupid. Take another $20,000 from people already paying a host of taxes and you've created a huge disincentive.

Nevertheless, she probably would have won the primary, if not for the voter fraud in places like Iowa and Texas coordinated with ACORN:

"Bus loads of individuals arrived in Iowa for that State's Caucuses, something that had never happened at any time in Iowa's past … ... I wonder why all those Iowan's rented buses with Chicago license plates to bring them to the polls."

After Iowa's caucuses,, the race has already became more contentious.
Former President Bill Clinton called Mr. Obama's sudden rise to front-runner status a "fairy tale."

If it's one of your threads, the answer is always "no."

Sure, Obama will get a challenge. But as of now, I suspect that challenge will be along the lines of a Kucinich, or the 1996 version of Jerry Brown, than anyone Obama has to spend any time worrying about.

Not that I even vaguely directed my previous posts to you, or your like ...

It's too bad you have that tree limb shoved up your ass, otherwise you might have been enlightened about the insider's Democratic version already in the works for the 2012 presidential election, "according to a longtime Democratic Party insider, and former advisor to the Obama election campaign and transition team" as mentioned in the thread you refuse to even look at.

The Carter comparison is at least as appropriate at this point, perhaps moreso based on political acumen and governing style.

Carter faced a strong challenge from Teddy Kennedy.
And won.

Well, that round.

Hillary will challenge and beat him for the nomination. thread closed.

Politicians can count, and if Obama's assets dont add up, he's vulnerable. Johnson kicked Goldwater's ass in 1964 yet was spent by 1968. Hillary was 'inevitable' in 2008 and lost.

Crazy fluke. Hillary was supposed to win and Obama was supposed to get elected in 2016 but someone fucked up. We here at the Illuminati underestimated Oprah's powers. Which is why we canceled her show. Dumb bitch fucked with the plan!

You are most likely correct about the GOP, but the Demz haven't done much different. Dukakis? Mondale? Kerry? WTF?

Cus you can't beat a seated president unless he's a LEGENDARY fuck up or you have a goddamn super hero to run against him. Clinton beat Bush because he's THAT DAMN GOOD. The GOP is gonna run a throw away cus they aren't idiots.

Obama will get the nomination unless the Left produces a leader. He's not a leader and honestly would have made a much better Vice than he has as President. His biggest failing is that he doesn't understand that might makes right. so much that he should have pushed harder and faster on and called out the blue dogs and RINOs on he hasn't. His intense desire to be bipartisan is really pissing his base off.

You do understand that's not how taxes work right? A ten percent tax hike on people making $200k or more wouldn't be 20k until you made 400k. It's ten percent of what you make OVER 200k not ten percent of what you make. So if you make in the neighborhood of 200k you won't even notice it. If you make 400k the extra 20k is kind of an annoyance more than a burden.

And won.

Well, that round.

Well, yes. It would be pretty frickin' bad if a president couldn't win his own party's nomination for a second term. We haven't seen that in our lifetime. Johnson stepped down voluntarily.

If there's a primary challenge, that's not a good sign for an incumbent president.

shoulda woulda coulda ... 2012 is the try again

They aren't going to abandon Obama any more than they admitted they made a mistake after the drubbing they just received in the election. They'll just change the message. Now that they have some Republicans in charge of something, they can get back to what they do best, tear down and blame their opposition and their myrmidons will eat it up and get all enthused again to go back and return Obama back to power so they can get Republicans out of the way of their entitled Obama Bucks and "free" health care...

And we slink like alley cats,
Tearing down what we attack,
To prove that we just won...

Mel Gibson: Conspiracy Theory

The sabotage accusation, once implicit, is now direct among panicked progressives. Part of the intention seems to be strategic - to discourage Obama from considering Clintonian ideological triangulation. No centrist concessions, the argument goes, will appease Republicans who hate the president more than they love the country. So Obama should double down on liberalism, once again.

It is very bad political advice. It also indicates a movement losing contact with political reality. When an ideology stumbles, its adherents can always turn to alcohol - or to conspiracy theories. It is easier to recover from alcohol. Conspiracy thinking is not only addictive, it is tiresome. It precludes the possibility of interesting policy debate or genuine disagreement - how can you argue with a plot?

Peggy Noonan suggests that Obama is timid and a bully, and doesnt get that almost every American has an INNER JOHN WAYNE who shoves back. The elbow in the pie hole is the 2nd one for him this month. Actually 3rd; the Asians treated him like he has cooties.

The Democrats put Nancy back in charge, so they didnt get what the election was about. The Democrats are certain to oppose Obama with someone like Cindy Sheehan or worse. But Obama will prevail and limp off to the general election.

I expect the GOP to nominate Pat Boone or Donny Osmond for President. They have no heavy-weight contenders, and Palin is a cheerleader. They have no Teddy Roosevelt with a stout stick. They'll take control of the Senate but thats about it.
