Least Favorite Category?

I have no interest in incest as an activity. I don't want to fuck my dad/sister/mother/granny etc. but I have read a fair number of the incest stories. Many of them are just stroke stories & are no different to a lot of stories on LIT.

Occasionally I stumble across something that is a lot more 'out there' & I like that. Check out this author:

http://english.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=15950&page=bio

There is something about the picture of the author that really adds to the impact of her writing. She has her own website where she has published some additional stories that are really wild (her in a threeway with her brother & the family dog).

Funny thing...

I did a private survey of the top stories -- both the most read and the highest ranked -- on Lit about a year ago. For all the posters here denying interest in incest stories, they were the most popular.

I haven't checked lately but I'd suspect the same holds true now.

I enjoy incest stories but havenot written any. My own preferences lead me away from nonconsensual and so-called "erotic horror". Most of the 'horror' stories I've read (including Sean Renaud's) are poorly constructed and leave little to the imagination.

I skip past the celebrity stories and all the nonerotic stuff. I agree with most here that they don't belong here -- the same goes for political diatribes and essays on social problems. I don't doubt that there are sites for that kind of crap, but this isn't it.

BDSM, gay, mind control are all categories I usually steer clear of. The thing is, this site allows writers to explore their own and the readers' interests. As that type of place it serves very well.

Celebrities
How to
Humor & Satire
Letters & Transcripts
Non-Erotic
Contests (I believe them to be an in crowd thing)

Look at the "Seven Mile High Club". Has nine chapters michael hs sex with cousun in japan, last three chapters.

Hmmm... I usually just stay in a few catagories, so there are a lot of catagories I haven't tried... But I know that I don't like NonHuman, Sci-Fi, letters, and humor. I'm looking through the list right now and realizing how many catagories there are that I haven't even looked at. I'll have to get reading! lol

Incest, first of all, just doesn't interest me at all.
and "cheating wives" is soooo booooring. There is nothing new under the sun, there.
Erotic horror may be horror but not erotic to me...
and of course the only fetishes that interest me are my own! shoes? What's that about? :p
Exhibitionism, non-consent, BDSM, trannies- get me going.
Erotic couplings, romance, and other sweet stuff- get me going.
Some celebrities, but- these days, I don't even recognise some of the names!

I have a question about this?

Is it that anything that -is- horror is not erotic, or that the horror on this site is not erotic? Its a catagory that covers alot of ground, and as someone that does write in it, Im courious.

MANY people list it as something they won't touch, and the views seems to agree with that. Then again I write in the celebreties area too so obviously not going for mass appeal ;)

But I really think horror when written in a certain way can encompase a very erotic feel... Maybe I am off on that.

But I was hoping maybe a person or two that has stated that one could indicate a more broad deffinition of why.

Thanks kindly,

Alex

I guess it depends on your definiton of horror... There's the subtle type, where it's all psychological, and that can be pretty squicky. There's your type, which is sort of fantasy-based, and relies on our traditional icons, like demons, vampires, kraken, whatever- that can be sexy to me. (I'm only referring to my own tastes, you understand) But it's hardly ever horrifying. And then there's the gruesome stuff that I've read in that section where something crawls up a woman's cunt and kills her from inside.
Now, I'm into BDSM and pain as pleasure- but I am NOT into the ultimate pain of death through torture. And that gets listed as "Horror" also.
So, I guess, that's what I mean...
It's the same with regular literature, too. Stephen King doesn't always impress me, when he resorts to gore and guts to make his effect.

.I just read your story, and if that's horror, I can read it all day! :)

Fetish, I don't want to read about golden showers and scat play. I know other ppl like it, I just... can't stomach it. Non-consent as well and incest.

I abhor non-consent stories. If I were running the site, I wouldn't even have such a category available. It's the only category on the site wherein, by definition, the stories are always about immoral acts. Of course, there are those who have said the same thing about many other varieties of sexual activity throughout history, including ones that I like very much, but I defy anyone to defend the morality of rape.

Perhaps there is something to be said for having a safe outlet for these kinds of urges, and I understand that the majority of those who read, write, and enjoy such stories would never actually go out and rape someone. But I still despise it on principle.

Non-human, incest and interracial. I'm in an interracial relationship, thats satisfying enough for me. Plus I think the interracial stories tend to be focus on steryotypes...

Most of the erotic horror I enjoy tends to end up in the non-human section because it is really not horror. E.g. sex with ghosts is usually more about fun than horror and doesn't end up in the horror category. Still, that doesn't stop me from reading the category, and I must say CarousHell is one of the great ones. As for which categories I avoid, I don't read celebrity, interracial, fetish, anal, or gay male. But I'll happily read a story that is categorized as such if I like the author, especially if it is part of a longer story. As for NC/reluct, most of it is not that great but I'll still sift through it for the occasional gem (2 of my 3 favorites in there really shouldn't be in that category).

Least favorite category

Mine is 'Interracial.'
Not because I have anything against sex among those of different race, but in that the fetishization of race bothers me. I don't give a fuck about the races of the people, really, and the fact that people are in part getting off on the races of the people kinda squicks me. And most of those stories are ticking the ick-ometer on the high end for even more overtly stupid reasons. I mean, seriously, people, can't we let the whole 'big black cock' genre die, already?...

jmho.
