Legends Begin

"Is that your occupation? Oh and I guess I owe you an apology, the goblins do attack humans."

Horthgar grinned, preparing his bow. "Got that right! You're talkin' to the famous Hrothgar the Haughty, bard extrodinaire!" He gave a short bow before turning his attention back to the town propper. He could hear the screams and gutteral growls getting closer. Throwing his rope down and securing one end, he grinned. "Y'know, we could all just about squeeze onto this roof. Probably safest place to be. Or, we can push forward"

Rudy stepped out again, stretching before drawing both his sword and Grandheim. His eyes seemed to change focus, as if he were somehow aiming inside his mind. He stared at the creatures attacking, then saw the other people getting ready to fight. He smiled slightly, before raising both the longsword and Grandheim, the sword going above his head and the ARM held straight out in front of him.

"All right...Who's first?"

Cormach

Cormach heard the trouble coming from the tavern "orcs it seems" he said to himself. He blinked close to the tavern and saw the green bastards attacking the people and destroying good beer, "Destroying a pub is crime i cannot tolerate." he said to the first orc he saw, as he killed him with his runeblade. The orc screamed, and the other orcs turned to look at their comrade who had a three foot blade of bright blue eldritch power sticking through his chest. Cormach threw him down and stared at the orcs who were turning around to see the 6 foot tall Keltoi who had just stabbed their comrade. "Hello laddys!" Cormach said cheerfully as he regained his fighting stance a ball of forming energy in his left hand and the wicked runeblade coming straight from his right fist

OOC: Sorry was away for a while. RL stuff.

"Orc's are bad buisiness...still I hate to see a good tavern fall by the wayside"

Lurches forward....then falls to ground...but undaunted opens spellbook anyway...scaring his newfound allies who are unsure if he has a firm grip on friend and foe

"My mama always taught me that good things come from adversity if we put our faith in the Lord.
We couldn't see much good in the flood waters when they
were causing us to have to leave home,
But when the water went down, we found that it had washed a load of rich black bottom dirt across our land. The following year we had the best cotton crop we'd ever had."

and suddenly his allies are fortified with an extra boost of strength and dexterity...enhancing their combat endeavors. While galen himself takes a brief half minute nap in a puddle of mud

cormach

The orc rushed at him as Cormach let his magic fly and blew a hole in the orc's chest. The other orcs, now enraged, attacked him. Cormach took off the nearest ones head, and ducking an axe blow, skewered another. He leapt back and brought a bolt of lightning down on another. "Come on boyos!" Cormach laughed "Give me a workout!"

Rudy fired a shell into the rushing crowd of orcs, sending most of them flying in a variety of directions. He used the sword to block axe blades, and even to flip the axes into the ground. He may have been young, but he had learned how to fight the hard way. Even as more orcs swarmed towards them, he felt the surge of energy from the spellcaster. With that, he drew upon his own latent abilities, aiming with such precision as to make even the best elven archer jealous, and fired a single shell, which burst in front of an orc, sending the creature into the afterlife in a bright, blinding flash.

Cormach

Cormach saw the young man firing a strange weapon into the orcs, impressed with the young mans obvious battle skill. He blinked over to him and telefragged an orc behind the man."I do love when that happens." he said with a satisfied smile, he fried another orc with a blast of power and said "Hello boyo, fancy weapon youve got there. Me name is Cormac MacNessa, whats yours?"

Rudy raised an eyebrow, seeing the tall man, and shrugged. The man fought like a swordsman, almost like someone Rudy knew when he was younger.

"Rudy Roughknight. These things don't seem to like us."

cormach

"No lad it appears they do not" Cormach said with a laugh. "This sport is growing wearisome however, you may wish to get behind me." he said with a laugh pushing orcs away with a wave of force. "The sooner we kill them, the sooner we drink."

IC: So Horthgar was a bard. "Well at least I am not the only one out of place." The musician pulled his short bow back and let loose an arrow into a goblin. Why does a minstrel know how to fight? Never mind I probably don't want to know. The rouge placed his bow back over his shoulder and fastened a rope to the side of the building.

My drunken ally sang a brief song from his book coating us all with a warm glow that quickly faded. I opened and closed my right fist not noticing a difference. 'Ya know, we could all just about squeeze onto this roof. Probably safest place to be. Or, we can push forward.' What great choices sit here like targets or move into the slaughter. "Oh hell with it let's try and take the fight to them." Horth slid down the rope and I grabbed the line after him. There was a flash and an orc vanished in a firey burst. Another two warriors had joined the fray.

Holding the rope I leaned over the edge my feet straight against the wall. I made it about half way down the wall. Then my feet slipped from under me and I found myself falling. I started to scream but before I fully opened my mouth I found myself with a surprising amount of agility, I placed my feet under me and bent my knees preparing for impact. Horthgar reached up trying to catch me slowing my impact. I still landed with a thud. I was upright but my knees felt like they were about to give out.

"I am fine thank you Horth." I took a few steps to the side swearing loudly in my mind and waited for the others.

Rudy shook his head, as the Orcs kept coming. He was getting bored, but knew they had to protect the innocents inside the tavern at all costs. Suddenly, an orc was in front of him, weilding an axe, so he slashed with his sword, slicing the orc's hand off, and sending the axe flying.

Cormach

"Alright lad, here it COMES!!" his arms and hans glowing with a blue energy, let loose, "DUKHAS NA DRAUKA!!!!" cormach yelled and a wave of energy burst out of him, pulverizing the orc line. Cormach doubled over steam rising from his body, "I need a beer." he said weakly with a chuckle

Rudy stood there in the middle of a group of orcs, and then jumped into the air, charging a shell and firing it into the ground. The shell started a cyclone of energy, which ripped apart the group of orcs. Rudy landed lightly, and looked around. "Is it over?"

cormach

"aye it is that lad." cormach said exhausted "help an old man into the bar, and let him buy you a drink."

Rudy holstered his ARM and sheathed his sword, then moved over and helped the Kelt into the tavern, then shook his head at the mention of a drink.

"I don't drink, and I'm headed up to the mountain."

Cormach

"Alright then hold a moment," Cormach said to the young man "I need a traveling cask of beer, and one of whiskey" he said to the bartender laying money down "Thank you sir." Cormach took out from his pouch, a strange chalk and drew identical runes on each cask and held his hand over them. They immediately shrunk to much more convenient size for carrying. "I could also use a swift pint of something dark." he said laying down more money. He drank the pint fast. "Alright lad, to the mountain we go!"

I was flying around when I noticed a huge commotion. My eyes showed me orcs fighting with some individuals, then I noticed two large explosions, the fire and explosion itself sparked fear down to my very core, and for a moment I lost proper posture and started to drop, at which I opened up and glided again. Except unbeknownst to me, I had dropped further than I expected and landed on a rooftop, crashing into it. The pain that erupted in my legs was quite a bit, but not too bad. Looking at my wings, I realized I'd have to spend a while to be able to fly again. I heard somebody say something about something being over but then next thing I knew, my armored foot slipped on the roof of the building, and I fell to the ground in an loud crash, my armored right arm mostly breaking my fall. I thought I heard a crunch but wasn't sure and as I got on my armored left foot and got up, I noticed how my body wasn't happy, and the weight of my armor seemed a bit heavy on me . . . a little too heavy . . .

I looked up and noticed my right wing was bent in an odd way, and that immediately illicited a blood curling scream of pain from me as I dropped to my knees in pain. Which probably didn't look too good, considering I was a large mass of cloth and blood that was screaming.

IC: I leaned against the wall to take some wait off my legs. I watched the battle continue. The goblins seemed to be retreating and the gathered guards were perusing them back to the woods. The few battling adventurers were moping up the enemies they could. There still was danger but my fighting wouldn't be needed with any luck. I smiled to myself and let out a content sigh.

A loud crash came from above, a large man was balancing on the roof above me. Tiles began to fall and I lept to the side; as I looked back they hit the ground shattering under their own weight. "That would of stung." There was a large flopping sound as the once balancing man hit the ground. I could now see it wasn't a man but some sort of bloody mass of cloth and flesh. I only had a moment to question weather or not it was still alive, as the screams quickly ended all doubt.

Wow. Battle had come and gone without the need to interfere. For once. Of course, this was Bloodpool. Peace doesn't last for long, and the screaming man tubling out of the sky to land on the street proved Hrothgar right.

He peered over the edge of the building to see the man resembling a heap of garbage with a cat inside. Only with more blood. "What is it with people dropping out of the sky these days? New craze or something?"

White feathers strewn about where I had landed, the pain, not going away, I had spread my wings as much as I could bare. Then bracing myself on my right armored hand, I pushed myself up, putting my weight on my armored left leg. I knew I was a mess, a pool of blood, clothing and feathers. My hair falling out from under my hood, showed its white color and the feathers that were in my hair also started to fall out. Sighing I realized then that I was noticed. I jumped back and winced in pain, my armored right hand came up, pulling out one of the transparent milky white longswords out "who're you?"

IC: The creature slowly rose to its feet, moving its weight from location to location, groaning in pain with each failed attempt. The figure seemed to be a man in hooded armor, with the oddity of wings. Long stands of hair hung out of the hood. The man sighed and I couldn't resist getting a better look at it's face; and slowly leaned over to look at him.

Suddenly the creature jumped back; its figure seemed to quake in pain. I stepped back, suddenly reminded of the many lives this day had already claimed. In one fluent move the creature drew a sword and pointed it at me. 'Who're you?'

I was at a clear disadvantage myself unarmed. I slid back across the wall, trying to find a way to defend myself. Suddenly I remembered the dagger I had taken with me from home. Anything is better then nothing. I drew the weapon from its concealed location and held it stiffly in my hand. "I am trouble if you aren't careful."

Hearing the woman's words, I thought for a moment, she was only armed with a dagger, which shouldn't have been too much trouble, but I was injured quite badly. I said as steadily as I could as I brought up my sword in a guard position, "a better question is, are you friend or foe?" As I was waiting for her answer I started muttering, one of my eyes watching her, the other closed I prayed hoping Aerdrie Faenya would lend me her power.

Hrothgar leaned off the side of the roof. "Hey, easy, easy! We're friends. Well, not your personal friends just yet as we don't really know each other, but we're not foes"

He slipped off the roof and landed well on the floor. He looked up at the wounded winged man, thinking to himself that he looked an awful lot like that winged elf that was with them a moment ago. "well, sir, would you grace us with a name now that you know we're not a threat?"

Rudy was leaning against the wall of the tavern. He spoke calmly and quietly.

"I'm assuming we are all heading towards the Mountain?"

Selufae Sulina

Hearing the words, I kept my eyes on the woman in front of me, and put my sword back in its sheathe, and stepped back a bit, continuing my prayer and my wings, which were bent out of shape, painfully straightened themselves and healed. One eye looking up I called out to the man "I am from the Windsong Clan, my name translates as the Heart of Magic."
